Teleporting map loop

I was in an Exterminate mission and had killed all enemies, so it couldn't have been a hostile ability. Every time I got to the elevator room heading towars exfiltration, I would get warped back to several rooms earlier. I tried walking different paths there, but all 5 times the screen faded to black and quickly came back with me in the same room I'd been warped to all the other times. Had to abort mission.
