I'm not sure I understand your point.

Since Miasma spreads spores now it shouldn't matter if it kills targets.

 

Say miasma has a 30m range. Hits a target at 20m. If the spread of spores is 20m it is from that target not from your location so it should, theoretically spread beyond the range of miasma, thus infecting targets that are not killed by miasma itself. Should be a good thing, right?

 

Also, I'm not sure if this is what is implied by the notes but it looks like the decay rate is slower now (is this just a visual/processing change or does it actually affect the rate of decay in a beneficial way?)

Sometimes the changes are a little hard to accept, given how much people play the game and get used to things working a certain way, but the effort is certainly appreciated.

Not even remotely a nerf...

 

There's a lot more changed than just a reduction in tick damage. There are more ticks, lower casting cost, and added functionality in how it now spreads spores.

 

350 damage over 5s = 1750

300 damage over 6s = 1800

 

Derrr How is this a nerf...

Uhhh, why though? This is a pretty hefty nerf to Miasma....

It's because the base cost of it decreased by 25 energy. In fact, if you take the numbers into account, the fact that miasma base damage was only decreased by 50 instead of 87.5 means it's a net positive.

Limbo is a solo frame. He doesn't need to be changed. Stop playing him in team play and stop trying to get DE to fix a frame that is perfectly fine. Not every frame needs to be used in team play.

Miasma isn't nerfed, it received the changes people have been asking for three years finally. The net loss of damage versus the new tick rate + energy cost reduction is positive, otherwise at the very least they would've lowered the damage by like 87 or something instead of just 50 😉

he is fine in team plays tho...
But yes there others frames that in desperate need of DE attention

Already a thing.  Power Duration affects how much decay per second you suffer while nothing is spored, and Power Strength affects the stack cost for re-casting the ability.

Limbo can be a great team frame IF and only IF his team knows his abilities, the player knows how to play him, and there is communication. T

Math for anyone crying nerf on Miasma.

 

Net damage with 200% power strength on a spores target:

Before the change: 7000

After the change: 7200

 

With 150% duration and 200% power strength

Before: 10500

After: 10800

 

 

The extra duration means longer viral proc as well. Meaning targets have longer 50% health.... 

 

This is a major boost...

Cheaper, more net damage, spreads spores, longer duration for viral proc....
