ninjas spam their skills and techniques, so why should we be limited as well. i think the energy system is fine the way it is. for casual players like me who actually like to use our powers, having them take away the energy orbs or limit them would lower the fun we have playing the frames we play. if you want to not have as much energy, don't use your powers that much. limit yourself, not have the game be limited for everyone else.

It's interesting people say that people can kill steal or steal exp when... IT'S PROVEN THAT IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA EVERYONE GETS THE SAME AMOUNT OF SHARED XP!

So those that *@##$ about killsteals are just the stat hogs who wanna make themselves feel better by having a bigger number then others. in the end IT DOES NOT MATTER!

Thank you.

Except that sometimes I need 100% Affinity towards my non-maxed Despair, instead of 33% to my maxed Primary and Melee.

I don't get 100% Affinity towards my weapon I'm training if I don't nail the kill with it.

And someone else doesn't get exp for their tool of choice if you get the final hit. What makes you more important than others? If it bothers you instead of going down the passive aggressive route you could try to talk to the other people first, if they don't listen then pelt them with bounce mines.

Facetanking the room with a weak frame only to facetank it with no real flaw is what is annoying.

Sometimes, I play Halo. I enjoy player vs player games *SOMETIMES*, but every once in a while. I go into the "arcade" mode where AI spawns, and I give myself a rocket launcher and 4x health, and go to town.

However, I do that for five minutes to get my need for destruction out. In this game, we can't turn that off, and that is what makes players mad.

EXP for everything? Even for maxed weapons? Or 100% EXP for one weapon?

Which is it?

If you wanted to level up one weapon, it's absolutely fair that you are required to kill with it. If someone else "takes your kill with their weapon", you were just too weak/slow/etc. It's certainly much better than Molecular Priming everything every twenty seconds, where there is no way to get weapon-specific EXP.

From what I understand from the EXP system if lets say a Nova just waltz her big &#! into a room, dropped a 4. Then something dies, and kills lets say 20 things at 100 EXP that 100 EXP is split 4 ways with everyone but the Nova. Aka. 100 Xp, 25 to Frame, primary, secondary, melee. Nova, all frame I believe. So.... Most likely when I play, I have 2 to 3 things on me getting EXP while one thing isn't (Since I always carry a level 30 something on my when I am leveling up other things) I am not going to complain. And that's 20 guys in a split second so 20 x 25 = 500 EXP per thing from just that room.

Had to read carefully, but yes, you have a close grasp of the EXP system as defined by the Wiki.

If Player 1 slaughtered a room of enemies, totaling 1000 EXP, Players 2, 3, 4 would get 333 EXP to all their weapons and a full 1000 EXP for their Warframes. Player 1 himself, however, would only get 1000 EXP for his Warframe, nothing more.

In other words, the killer gets EXP only for what he used to kill (in this case, Warframe EXP only), and his friends get full Warframe EXP each and 33% EXP for each of their weapons.

Because of this, if another Nova went in and blew everything up, I'd only get 33% EXP for the weapon I'm training. If I were to kill each enemy individually, I'd have gotten 100% weapon EXP for each enemy I dispatched.

3 players running around and trying to rank up specific stuff, 4th player jumps in (being a nova), killsteals EVERYTHING.

why is nova more important then those 3 others?

having one of those novas in your team really makes me want to just leech my primary, secondary and my melee weapon as each kill of nova nets me 33% for each weapon while killing stuff myself only gives me 100% for that specific weapon. letting others do the work, leeching xp and sitting back seems to be the way most people want you to play this game. you know, cause don't complain about leeching, so i don't complain about kill stealing.

oh wait!...

Lets be honest, if your aiming to level stuff up your going to either kappa or kiste and letting a spamy frame do the killing anyway.

The reason people love nova for that is it grants massive exp for little to no work. 20-25k to everything for doing next to nothing and the nova only gets 80-100k to it's frame(the user might get 10k to it's other stuff, MIGHT). With out double affinity, whens the last time you got 25k on a single weapon, let alone your frame, primary, secondary, AND melee at the same time(and didn't require spending a lot of time in a pure endless defense, where your not aiming to get all the kills but keep the pod alive)? I'll take doing kappa or kiste in 15 minutes and get 20-25k versus xini for 30-45 minutes and getting 25-30k+.

Also on the side note of affinity killing, last I heard your frame gets 50% of the kill with your own weapon anywho versus the 100% if it uses only powers.

I don't care about energy spammers, its one man armies that head off out of that exp sharing range that annoy me.

If they use a power they get warframe xp and I get xp shared over all my stuff, that is fine by me as I am always levelling at least one thing. Its not as though its difficult to level things up in this game.

I think you should take some time and look over the ideas that have been suggested to replace the current energy system. People are looking at ways to encourage tactical power usage that would hopefully work better than what we have now.

Lots of players don't like having to run laps to recover their energy, and that's one of my biggest problems with the current "blue gumball" paradigm.

If you keep an open mind, you might decide that a different energy system wouldn't be the end of all your fun.

I agree Silvershadow66 I don't mind if There is 2 Novas and a ember waltzing around and spamming 4, as long as one of them doesn't decide to play hide and go f_ _ k yourselves then rush off to put a thumb up their butts and just murder everything without the team even nearby is annoying. The spamming of powers to murder things quickly isn't an issue for me. Hince my original post of pretty much "People who b _ tch about kill stealers are $&*&*#(%&."

Well, playing for 300 hours and I can say for certain that I don't mind other players killing things for me. There are more important reasons that I dislike energy system/ultimate spamming in general.

1. It really breaks immersion. Running around and gathering blue orbs for your power? Strange. It's the least of my problem at this point but it always bugs me nonetheless.

2. Gameplay becomes shallow. It gave the sense of being powerful when you first cast it but then you realized that you can cast it over and over and over again. It feels unrewarding to fight against the AI squad in this way.

3. It teachs bad behavior to new players. Spam4 and collect 4 orbs, rinse and repeat in midgame until they realize that ultimates can't save their day in lategame.

4. Energy system really, really favors using ultimates more than other powers. What could be more cost-effective than wiping the whole room with 100 energy? Players are encouraged to use them through the system itself and other powers become less favorable choice by design and they can't be buff without costing more energy.

EXP system is fine though. I love bringing low level weapons and my trusty Akabolto into defense to level them up fast while other wreck havok.

Leveling is never an issue. In fact I am not above to bringing brand new frames to Kappa or Kiste now.

Just use the aura polarity and slot in a redirection then just stick close while shooting a few rounds here there.

Bad practise ? Nope, I rather not get into the way of Nova doing her thing and jump levels without looking.

I have absolutely no idea what is being discussed. I dont want to die stupid, can someone enlighten me :-)

Well, nothing is being discussed.

The thread is actually a response to another one.

Technically it could be considered a Meta-Complaint, but it isn't really.

So...This thread is supposed to be a post in another thread.

You get more from actually killing the monsters yourself rather than having someone else do it for you. This pisses me off to no end when a freaking NOVA WITH STRETCH clears entire rooms and steals EVERY KILL.

It's not that people hate being able to use abilities, and I agree that the whole point of the game is having fun. However, part of having fun is feeling like you are making a meaningful contribution to the team effort. When one person on the team is just blasting off ultimates, etc. and killing everything, the rest of the team gets to just sit on their butts twiddling their fingers waiting for more enemies to show up. It shouldn't be too much to ask for people to tone down the rate at which they spew out AOE death, just enough so that everyone has something to do in the form of something to kill.

You keep saying "what makes you more important?" and other stuff like that... but that's just the thing. Nobody is any more or less important than anybody else as part of the community. So be considerate. If you want to go nuts and play without any regard for your teammates, if you want to do nothing but press 4 to kill roomfuls of enemies, play solo, or grab some buddies who want to do the same thing. Then, when you're ready to be considerate again, go back to playing with other people and don't try to kill absolutely everything with your abilities before anyone else gets the chance.

I fail to understand how you can find having energy siphon as a must and bashing 4 as "fun".

I mean really?Do you just love the sound things in this game make when they get insta gibbed?

Also ninjas didn't have skills that magically throw a bunch of really sharp javelins at everything hostile within line of sight.

Still I agree on not having our powers nerfed. Not before the game actually becomes more interesting and less grindy.

I dread the tought of having to spend hours grinding by shooting every mindless drone individually.
