Well, once you have the materials for both, since apparently you are close, make both!

Not long ago I would have said orthos, now I gotta say Orthos Prime which is a straight up improvement, but if you don't have the stuff for it then I think you should make the reaper for now and skip the regular orthos.

Both are extremely fun to use. But I would go for Orthos over Hate, although as I said, both are extremely fun to use. Not to mention that both are very strong. I would say, save the resources for both weapons, you will not regret it. Later you could switch Orthos for Orthos Prime since now it's a direct upgrade of the previous (*le sigh*).

I prefer Hate.

 

Sure it has less range, but I like the more consistent (and full 360degree) swing hitboxes as well as the knockdown on jump attack.

also with the hate you're staggerresitance while attacking/charging not like the orthos(prime)
