Sweetchuck
I'm running Windows 8, using an on-board sound card. If I unplug my iPhone from my PC while I'm anywhere in the game, the game's volume decreases by half for the rest of the session. If I close Warframe and restart, the sound goes back to normal volume. I'm estimating a 50% reduction because that's about how much more I have to turn up my speakers. Aigloblam
This happens because some random bit of coding at some point screwed up your USB Root Hosts. Its not really a problem, it wont hurt anything, just annoying. Right click on your Volume icon, and click "Open Volume Mixer", then make sure all the sliders are up to the same volume. At least thats how to do it on Win 7, im not sure if Win 8 has the same setup, but thats the fix for it. Looks like in windows 8 you need to go to the Desktop first, if you have it set up on live tiles by default. If I alt-tab out of the game and play an MP3 or something, it plays at full volume while the game is still at half volume. Next time it happens, I'll look at the sliders, but I'm pretty certain this is specific to Warframe.
Aigloblam
You can also try running warframe Windowed, see if that changes anything. Ive never seen that one actually...
Skepsis
Or you could run Warframe as Administrator.
Sweetchuck
I will try those last two options and see what happens. This is a very easy thing for me to reproduce.
Azure_Kytia
This has occurred to me in the past, make sure this option is unchecked in volume settings: http://superuser.com/questions/490323/windows-lowers-volume-because-of-communication
