From the picture I'm sure that if Excal straightened his legs, they'd match up perfectly. Maybe a comparison between one side profile and the other would illustrate it better. I did look around, it's subtle but the point it connects to on the upper side is different for both legs. Where the gold part meets the darker thick vertical line on the ski.
