Mowed through groups of ancients with my Supra... I heard tales of Phorid throwing spines that kill a Tenno in a single hit. Its Pluto, a high level planet, I fought golem and that was tough, I fought the greatest warriors of the Grineer Empire they were difficult... I fought the Corpus ingenuity in the form of the most powerful weapons in their arsenal... In my mind I am thinking its going to be a Stalker from Dark Sector without the leaping around the room, and turning invisible but running fast, and throwing spines of death... To my dismay I finally got the chance to meet Phorid... a giant charger that chased me around in circles like a dog chasing its tail while I mowed it down with my Supra killing it... My reaction? They should do a remake of Stalker to replace Phorid... seems so fitting to use an infested boss that turns invisible. Leaps around the room, and throws spines of death... No instead I get retard Infested boss... the weakest boss in the entire game... Hopefully right after they make the new corpus boss, and revamp Golem... Granted, he isnt hard for a high level person to kill, thats for sure...but the Weakest award goes easily to Nef Anyo. I've killed him by Accident before, while killing corpus around him. The only reason i think Anyo is easier is because of his pathetic tier Health/Shield. I dont think i own a weapon that i'd have to reload before killing him. Its the AI mainly I am speaking of... if Phorid's AI was at least SLIGHLTY more inteligent to the point he stands in one spot while you run around and shoot him and he tries to shoot stuff at you more often... then he might even be at least somewhat more hard... infact I never saw him shoot once, just scream at me. So yeah they must have Nerfed him pretty big. I remember having to time his scream, so i knew when to run away and hide behind something to avoid his Spores. Tyl Regor just chases you while you run circles around him, and unlike Phorid, Tyl can be stunlocked with freaking fire damage, and Nef Anyo gets OHKOed by weapons that REALLY shouldn't be able to OHKO a boss. I brought my best primary, and my most beastly Warframe and turned Phorid into a joke... its scream does nothing, and I don't think it ever had the chance to shoot because I was literlly on its side running circles around it as t chased me. At least Tyl can become a pain as Rhino... As Rhino Tyl becomes a pain when using Supra on him, he also moves alot faster then Phorid... Phorid is just a joke... Care to explain how Tyl, a boss that needs to get into french kissing range to even hurt you, can become a pain as Rhino, a frame who can pretty much turn invincible? Tyl can be freaking stunlocked by almost anything! Fire damage, stun mods, heck, I think even electric mods work. You pretty much have to stand completely still and walk away from the keyboard in order for Tyl to kill you! At least Phorid has long range attacks, albeit ones he almost never uses. Besides, almost any boss is a complete joke if you take Rhino and your most beastly gear. Don't complain about Phorid being a complete joke after you pretty much prepared an anti-Phorid loadout. If you havent seen the live stream 12, forward to 22:25 I think... or around that, to see him. He looks REALLY cool. I'm sure they will make Phorid into something appealing in due time as well. I believe Sargas Ruk is in the works, too. The rest are placeholders, using grunt models with simple mechanics. Ganpot Posted August 19, 2013 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Compared to Golem, Phorid is a nightmare. You can't blame the boss for being easy when you're using the tankiest warframe in the game, along with a clan-tech weapon. If you want a challenge, use Mag, Excalibur, Nyx, or Volt. Then use regular (non-AP) weapons, and don't equip any freeze damage mods. Phorid only launches poisonous spines at you if you are really far away (or somewhere it can't reach). If they hit you and you're playing as a frame with low health and armor, you will usually be killed instantly. Oh, and they are heat-seeking, so you can't reliably dodge them. The shockwave attack by itself is annoying but not dangerous (especially for Rhino with Iron Skin up, as you won't be constantly staggered). But if other Infested are around, shockwave can be a death sentence. Worst of all, there is absolutely no way to avoid the attack. Granted, Phorid's mechanics could have been designed way better. The poison spines feel cheap instead of hard, because you can't dodge them (usually) and they inflict a massive amount of damage. Other than the poison, Phorid isn't really that challenging (just a massive bullet sponge). PS: If you think Phorid is easy, wait til you try Ambulas. It's a complete joke when you're playing Rhino, because the only dangerous thing about it is its constant knockdowns. All you have to do is stay right next to it and blast it in the face with a shotgun while it flails at you. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
