ntyd1s
While playing as client, getting knocked down while doing melee attack will make melee (and block) unusable. This can be fixed by getting yourself knocked down again! ._. Getting knocked down as client might be the source of all control lock problem. Please help bring this to DE attention, everyone. Cheers. JonathanJupiter
Wait people didn't know that was the cause? Damn, should have sent the bug in a little sooner then. Oh well at least it might get fixed.

Frunzer
I have experienced the bug too, but never figured out the cause/fix. However, i am quite sure, that last time I got it to work again without getting myself knocked down and just by wildly switching weapons.

It's not exactly the easiest thing to notice or fix actually (well on the user's end) because it isn't easy to get knocked down sometimes since only a handful of enemies can do it. That's why we have to point it out to DE guys to try to fix it.

Justin_Case001
Excellent. I'm glad someone figured this out.
PlebbyMilliner
It's been known for quite some time. It's not 100% always the reason it stops working. It's been reported, but not yet fixed.
Auxeus
Execute an ability can sometimes unlock melee-lock. Good tip for the knockdown to unlock, i'll try that next time.
_daVinci_
Also you can sometimes workaround this bug by jumping in mid air and switching weapons, and sometimes by trying a jumping melee attack. Neither of these work reliably, although both have worked for me.
2MadSkills
I usually fix it by jumping and attacking. Usually takes 2-3 tries to "fix".
