Looking to get into warframe RP, but most seem to be closed. Any suggestions on what lore to read up on as I play the game and search out people to RP with? Does anyone ever RP in game?

Honestly the best thing you can do is to read up everything. All the Gara fragments, 1000 year fish, Codex entries, Kuria poems, Ordan Karris memories, Prime Codex entries, etc.
Then play all the quests!

As for in game RP, we don't typically do it just because it's more difficult to set up and also disallows for a lot of creative freedom. That being said, we're not strictly opposed to it.

None of my friends are into the lore of Warframe, but I'm getting SUPER INTO IT, think rping would be fun. I'm gonna finish running through the story sometime in the next week or so, and come back with an application.

TALES OF THE AWAKENED MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: Issue 14!!

That's right, baby, we're back, but with some changes to the newsletter scheduling! The most obvious one being that the NEWSLETTER IS NO LONGER WEEKLY, BUT INSTEAD WILL OCCUR ONCE EVERY MONTH! This is because life is super busy and I have little time to write up the newsletter, and sometimes not much happens in a week, leaving the newsletter kind of lackluster.
BUT! With monthly newsletters, I'll be able to include an entire month's worth of happenings, saturating the newsletter with more interesting things while simultaneously alleviating the stress of writing one of these suckers every voiddamn week!
So, without further ado, let's get into the meat.

NO! Sorry, I'd love to share some of this stuff, but unfortunately most of it is 'classified'. At least, for now. Maybe it'll make an appearance later....
Most of the art is for a fan concept of my own that I'd rather keep under wraps for the time being. Although, umm... okay I got one piece I can share with you:

I know we did the applicant acceptances and feedback promises a long while back, but life's been very busy, and Disruptis and I haven't had the time to sit down and crank those guys out. WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM, we've just been busy. I promise to get them out BEFORE we reopen applications.

RP UPDATES!
Alrighty, then my peeps, let's get into the juiciness.

THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND by Vuko:
Vuko has his sights on a couple ships preparing for departure, but there was no easy way the damaged, unstable-looking Warframe could get to the ships without being spotted. He scours the surroundings in the hangar, looking for something that might be able to afford him a disguise of sorts. His search is in vain, however; there is nothing but barrels and some Moas cleaning the flight deck nearby.

THE FORTUNA ET OPS II by Kapak:
The ceiling bursts open as the assailants pour through- 3 Tenno! A Saryn, a Mesa, and a Hydroid, who quickly lay waste to the Corpus Guards and Crewmen in the room. The Mesa's bullets tear massive holes through the Corpus, showering the floors and walls with their blood. Soon enough, only the civilians, Frez, Sonera and the guard captain Elax are left standing. The Hydroid, who soon introduces himself as Captain Vec of some kind of Tenno-based, pirate-Robin Hood clan, tackles Sonera. After A brief wrestling match, Vec manages to convince Sonera to stand down, and he explains the situation. They're here to take the money stored aboard the ship (of course, there's a lot of it; it's a space-bound casino), but they had to eliminate the crew as witnesses. They'll keep the civilians alive due to their "innocence". Vec begins to strangle Elax, due to him being part of the crew, but Sonera manages to convince Vec to allow him to live. Vec agrees, reluctantly, but wishes to respect his fellow Tenno's wishes. The pirate captain calls off the hunt of the ship's money, and instead opts to evacuate the survivors quickly to a place where they can receive proper medical attention and be rescued.
Sonera, Frez, and the rest of the surviving members of the party leave the Fortuna et Ops II, less than satisfied with the outcome, but alive, nonetheless.

THE VALLES TOMB RAID by Leveret:
The explorers begin to bicker among themselves. Atela wants to use controlled detonation to blast their way into the tomb, but Geordie believes the structure is too old and unstable for even that. Eventually, Kára decides to end the debate by snatching the grenade straight from Cyrus' equipment and giving it to Atela.

SAGA OF THE STRIDER by Lekalis:

PROJECT TELOS by Kamos:
Kapak assaults the Juggernaut, leaping straight into the beast's path. His guts are obliterated for a second, his innards spilling across the floor, but he hangs on. After regenerating enough, Kapak reaches into the cracks of the monster's bony armour and tears it open! Leveret in the meantime attempts to fight off the ever growing number of Infested spawn that came pouring into the room, accompanied by fierce Ancients. Svytoj combats the Infested Valkyr from earlier.
While Leveret is able to hold his own against the attackers, some of the Ancients slip by him to attack Kapak, halting his assault on the Juggernaut. Leveret unleashes his Ingis, scorching the attackers with its flames, but the presence of fire seems to send Kapak into a panic. He runs and hides, curling up into the fetal position while the chaos of the attack continues to ensue.

MADAM BOURGOAR'S CARNIVAL by Sonera:
Honestly I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Um, there's just a lot of different timeline happening simultaneously. Uh, oh geez.

HYPERION ASCENDED by Inari:
The two groups split up and begin to move. The two newcomers, Ella in her Banshee and an Inaros named Vazan'gul appear and prepare to explore.

CHRONICLES OF THE RUNNER by Ella:
Kamos and Atela continue their search for anything remotely interesting, while Isa encounters a horde of Infested and begins to blow them up with her trusty Zarr.

[NEW RP] FORTY THOUSAND PLATINUM by Kapak:
Mik Kota, a Chief Executive Corpus at one of Anyo Corps' subsidiaries, has requested several Tenno and members of independent factions for their assistance in a so-far undisclosed business proposal. The four tenno, Lupin, Elizabeth, Cyan and Naelyn, answer their call and gather on Neptune's surface. They make brief introductions in the cold, and are soon interrupted by a drone carrying their host's message. Tensions are high as they are escorted inside by two bursas and the drone. Inside the casino, business is booming. Retrofitted Ospreys and Moas accompany rich Corpus customers, carrying drinks, food, credits and platinum. The group is finally indoors, surrounded, yet so far ignored, by the bustling room.

THE WEAVER'S MANIFEST by Disruptis:
The group re-enters the room with the incomplete railgun resting on the assembly line. Chegar and Kamos guard the door while the rest dig around further for clues. Aurelia spots small cameras mounted to the ceiling, and begins hatching a plan requiring a security console. Svytoj discovers a corpse tucked away into the corner in a fetal position, which the group swarms it around for a good look. They remove the helmet on a long dead Corpus crewman and try assessing the surface for damages, but ultimately decide to stop before digging any deeper. Meanwhile, Kamos and Chegar are drawn away into the hallway by a distant, low growl. They enlist Sonera to follow them, and end up getting half-way to the source when they hear another sound: a hollow scraping. It came from the door immediately to the group’s right, and without a moment’s hesitation Kamos prepares himself to knock it down.

Whew! That took a good long while! I had to sort through a whole month's worth of RP posts and pick out all the important details, which is a lot harder than what I had to do during the weekly editions, but at least I don't have to do it every single weekend now. Let me know what you guys think, and I'll see you all again soon. Remember; just because the newsletter doesn't come every week anymore, it doesn't mean I'm not active on the forums. I usually check it at least once every day, so if you have ANY questions, comments or concerns, just hit me up!

Hey, so I decided I'm gonna try and whip up an app for this. I have a character idea, but I gotta ask- do you have any advice for writing Corpus Tenno? I'd like to think I have a good enough grasp on the warframe lore to do so, but I always get that early stuff about the Tenno origins goofed someway/somehow. How would a Corpus come to get void energy as the orokin children did on that vessel?

During the Orokin empire, the Corpus were more of a sub-Class of the Orokin, if you will. They didn’t follow the same beliefs as the Orokin, and hence they were divided. However, it is clear that the Orokin did not discriminate when it came to “manufacturing” Tenno after seeing how the Zariman children could be utilized.

Corpus Tenno are essentially Orokin children who were part of the Corpus religion, and they were either kidnapped or something else, forced into one of the other ships. Then, these ships were passed through the Void to expose them to the Void in a controlled manner.

Here’s the TL;DR... Corpus kiddo get kidnapped or volunteer to fight during the middle part of the Old War. Then put Corpus kiddo on a Void ship with other kiddos and voila! Tenno.

Yeah, that was about what I figured. Thanks for the help! I do have ONE MORE question though, and that's if you have a specific preference for application format. At the moment I'm just filling out everything I feel is important to my character, but it's mostly backstory.

Backstory, personality and what they do in the modern day are all things that for some reason, most of our applicants leave out! As long as you include those things, we'll be pretty happy, since we can actually get an idea of what your character is like.

Typically a lot of our applicants try to take a more 'creative' approach, writing 'text logs' from the point of a victim of their Tenno, or some other auxiliary in-world piece of data. As a result, things are pretty vague and "mysterious" leaving us with no idea what the f[][][] the character is actually like.

But to come back to your question, there's no mandatory format for your bio! As long as you provide us with a good picture of what your character is like, and answer all of the questions given to you honestly, we'll have no problems!

oH DEAR GOD NO I would never neglect to include a personality or format a story to hide information, that WREAKS of amateur. People seem to forget this is an application, not your own storytime... I was more or less asking so I could make sure I didn't forget to include anything, but it seems like I was on the right track. I'll hopefully have an app in by the end of the week. 👍

Surprise everyone!
As of late, I've lost a lot of time and have been unable to keep doing the newsletter, and I feel very bad about it. I realize now that the newsletter isn't going to be as sustainable as I originally thought, but I refused to give up on allowing the public to be informed on what's happening in our server.

SO! From here on out, we are opening the server up to EVERYONE to visit. Anyone will be allowed to drop by, read RPs, and interact with full-access members. All RPs will be available to read!

This means now is the time to get your character bios together and prepare yourself if you want a shot at getting in!
