Hostages

I've been playing for about a month now, and so far, Hostage path finding is by far the most annoying bug I've come across. It's one thing failing a mission because you keep dying, it's another when you're doing everything right, and the stupid Hostage can't jump up some boxes.

 

I did take a screenshot of a particular bit of map that the hostage is incapable of navigating, but I can't see an option to upload. Basically, all the Hostage has to do is crouch under some pipes and jump up a ledge to follow me. He can't even crouch under the pipes! Wouldn't having the Hostage teleport to your location if you get too far away eliminate this kind of issue?

 

20 minutes wasted due to the hostage being a $&*^.

 

Yes, I'm mostly posting because I need to vent.

The hostage has the worst AI in the game. Usually I tell my team to get to the EP whilst I stay with him and make sure he doesn't stupid himself to death.

 

Good idea for high level rescue missions (Thanks!), since I notice enemy AI seems to target/find him faster if he is left behind.

After I get the hostage I just rush to extract before he dies. He doesn't have to be there with you at extract.

 

Yep, specially if you are fast but sucks a little for me since I'm a rhino.

Don't know 'bout this since i usually just tele-switch place with him when he's too far behind or stuck (loki). Although, at times when he does stupid himself/herself, i make sure the place's empty and rush extraction.

Hi there, I had problem with Ai for the hostage too.

I just went for a rescue mission earlier. The given map was the new Grineer map. The Hostage AI can't seems to crouch through the pipes at one point. My teammates and I got stuck because she stood there and stare into blank space as we crouch through the pipes and wait for her to follow up.

In the end, we decided to split into 2 groups, 1st group to clear the enemies for the 2nd group to run straight to the extraction point. The 2nd group has to stay behind and defend her from the enemies spawning from the previous cell area.

The 2nd group is unable to loot any mods as they had to ignore the loots and dash straight to the end ( to keep the hostage alive to complete the mission )

Please fix the AI or program the ai to learn how to crouch and walk pass those pipes for the new Grineer Maps !

That's right, but it is possibly also a bug, because you know, you should have to transport him to extraction (the same way you have to bring all the datamass to extraction point).

The turns they take are too wide and they have a gun but never use it. (its a modern day gun anyway. Why do they have it?)

 

But yeah its easier to just get them stuck in a safe area and rush to the exit.

 

Some maps actually need you to do this since certain areas that require jumping are chokepoints on the way to extraction. Thats pretty idiotic.
