Gambit_EK
I've read various boring suggestions like adding multi-hit or increasing charge damage. That's nothing new. With the exception of a few weapons, not many melee weapons have a high crit chance. Why not keep single-blades single target, and give them a decently high crit rate? Keep in mind the crit mod only grants 60% crit chance, not 120% like the other weapons. So maybe give a lot of single blade swords a high innate crit chance, like 35%, for their normal and chage swings? Would that be OP? Keep in mind single blade swords generally have a far lower charge damage than duals or heavies. Another idea I liked was having consecutive hits gaining armor ignore/damage/crit% as they connect. Aaron11pc
I would like a weak sword, for example the skana that gets stronger when you level up your mastery or something like that could be nice. Also they need to change all long swords animation cus they look awful. Khaos_Zand3r
Yeah, I would love higher crit chances on NON charged attacks. Longswords are skill weapons, so having a higher reward for the discipline of using the sword (crit chance to represent targeting the weak points) makes perfect sense. It would also be an indirect buff that could really end up shining and bringing them on par with the other classes. +9001
Saenol
35% is an enormous crit chance, far too high to be justifiable for most of these weapons, especially for charge attacks, especially if you keep the high crit rate weapons at a similar relative level over the standard. If a fix needs to be made, I'd rather see a larger (but not crippling) delay introduced when swapping between melee and primary/secondary weapons for two-handed and dual weapon types than with single weapons. Also, holding a datamass should force dual weapons to single handed mode, and use of a two-handed weapon while carrying a datamass should drop it. This way one single-handed melee weapon would remain rightfully worse than two weapons, or two-handed weapons, in damage output, but would have a niche in a game based around firearms by being more convenient to use with them. I would like a weak sword, for example the skana that gets stronger when you level up your mastery or something like that could be nice. This is what modifications do. Another system is unnecessary. Longswords are skill weapons The idea that other weapons are not as skill dependent is a fallacy. Edited August 19, 2013 by Saenol
Alighierian
This is what modifications do. Another system is unnecessary. a modded skana is still useless compared to 'high' end weapons. what he meant, is that with a higher mastery rank or something the weapon itself would increase, so it could be used at high levels effectively as well (to balance it out, the already powerful weapons would barely profit from this system, only the weak weapons)

There is no good reason for all weapons to not benefit equally from such a system, and no good reason for such a system to exist in the first place. Khaos_Zand3r
The idea that other weapons are not as skill dependent is a fallacy. Then let me rephrase. They are precision weapons, where as duals are used in flurries, and heavies are single, slow, powerful hits.
