fatpig84
Make them full auto is the answer. This is an engine limitation and DE knows it. A full re-write of the engine will be a waste of time. And no full auto guns don't mean you will blast bullets quickly. A Lex and Snipetron will still fire 1 round a second, just without you manual clicking each time. Edited August 20, 2013 by fatpig84
Azure_Kytia
It's an engine limitation that could be fixed with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_timing'>Delta time. This would also help with the bugs like infinite stair running on laggy PCs. But that would be too logical. Volt_Cruelerz
Just to reiterate... https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/58427-fire-rate-on-semi-autos-is-meaningless/

Rapidly clicking my weapons on wave 40 hurts my fingers lol
Azure_Kytia
If band-aiding the one issue works when the cause affects multiple systems, sure.

Burst rifles (pistols too) are suppose to be a balance between automatic and sniper rifles. Making them full auto would create a tier of badass, OP rifles that would be buffed to extinction. Leave them alone please, thank you. And yes a band-aid for the lag/ROF issue is needed very much
elindred
No salient points to add here. Not much more to say than this is still a problem, and I'm expressing my discontent by taking up forum space.

Making them full auto would create a tier of badass, OP rifles that would be buffed to extinction. Leave them alone please, thank you. And yes a band-aid for the lag/ROF issue is needed very much Would it? I'd prefer they accommodate for the lag rather than just make weapons full auto, but assuming the semi-auto rifles maintained their "normal" fire rate, they wouldn't be any more badass, they would still fire at the rate they're supposed to, you just wouldn't have to click every time and lag would no longer be an issue. Just because you're holding the button down doesn't mean it suddenly becomes an infinite fire rate gun. Besides, a lot of players (myself included) would probably continue to manually click anyway because of recoil, accuracy, and the fact that it's just a habit. The only difference I can see with them being full auto is no longer having lag slow us down. So I do support this IF DE can't find a way to keep semi-auto firing seperate from the frame rate, because I'd prefer efficiency over authenticity from my Latron and Hind. Toom1275
My brother and I took our Acrids to a tower defense. He's got his nice desktop, I got my minimum-playable-spec laptop. Neither of us put Gunslinger mods on our pistol, but he had nearly twice the fire rate that I had. On my machine, I can do melee combos. When I watch myself on his machine, I occasionally swint, then holster my weapon between each move. When I fire my boltor, though, My fire rate is just as good on either machine. As long as this fps-dependent actions problem persists, it prevents players who can't afford super gaming rigs from being able to use those semi-auto weapons as effectively as other players. Volume
I made a thread about this a while ago, and Volt's thread actually got a dev response. I remember when I had stacked fire rate mods in the "old" mod system (before this card thing) and I had a macro that literally made my aklato fire faster than afuris, provided my frame rate was stable (low res helped the most). Very confusing game. Then again, some are of the mind that firing semi-auto weapons at the documented fire rate is not intended (see post 10 of this thread). Suffice to say I share your frustration and agree that framerate shouldn't affect this. Edited August 27, 2013 by Volume
