MR16 restriction on teralyst needed

Recommended Posts

like the title says. too many leechers are ruining this with inactivity.

they dont revive but calling always for it.

they dont have approbiate gear aswell.

this is taking out the fun of this challenge.

I get what you mean. But I feel that the MR is too high. I’d say maybe 13-14.

if you are running a public group for it, there are always going to be those kinds of things... You can see MR 3's running around in Sortie missions and Nightmare missions... People will experiment and try to figure out content as they go.

The only thing that can be done is you can get a group of your own together to run, go through recruit tab with some parameters, or solo it.

I have run quite a few Eidolon hunts and came up with no Mote amplifier Tenno trying to engage the Eidolon's in hunts... I simply let them know they will have to prepare to die.. a lot (as they will not have a lot of energy to hide in VOID during the fight or Amp power to take down the shields / many of the ads that appear to heal him).

Granted, a solo player who is experienced enough can take on First Eidolon no problem, the three eidolon hunt... I can certainly see your frustrations there.

Bottom line, if it blocks the community out of it for a long time (this includes getting up to the events which is why we see Bounties varying levels). It's going to segregate the community and will spark some elitist attitudes.

(which is NOT what warframe is about, we are a rather tight community who help one another out)

Funny, I notice a lot of leeches tend to be at the higher mastery ranks than lower ones. People in my clan come back with stories of whole teams of MR20+ having sat by the gate for the duration of the run. And in my own experience in basically every other mission type, albeit limited because I play solo 90% of the time, similar results hold true. Most players like that tend to be people who want the rewards but are bored of the game or don't feel like playing.

Mastery Rank means almost literally nothing. There are people in my clan who coasted from like 5 to 18 in a week or two. An MR 16 can be as useless as an MR 6 can be. And given how simple it is to leech mastery, I absolutely don't doubt that's the case for a lot of people.

at mr16 a player is able to use a riven for damage.

You don't need a Riven for damage. And in the whole scope of things, MR means very little. However, if we were to put an MR restriction, which isn't a terrible idea, then I'd go for MR10.

Once again, what will it change? Most leechers I got in my teams were MR20 or higher.

Not that I had any problems with it, I can solo a Teralyst easily and if I need the most effective result I just make a custom squad. Everyone can make a custom group.

You’re right. I just feel that there should be a way to block leeches... maybe an inactivity penalty? That would definitely deter leeches so maybe they’ll leave and be replaced with productive cellmates.

Oh, why not allow Teralyst hunt only to those who have Rivens for damage then. Just to be sure.

Bullfeces

I've carried Teralyst pugs, limb-damage wise, with both lanka and vectis prime, no riven, since mr13

Some form of restriction on teralyst bounties would be nice, but this is the wrong way of going about it.

Posted (edited)

I came back from my long inactivity at MR23. I did my first Teralyst at MR24, I was probably a lot less useful than MR10 with serious setup and amps.

I even witnessed a MR25 guy who was unable to reach the island to summon the Gantulyst, saying "I don't have Archwing charges anymore so I can't cross the lake". Watched him try for 5 full minutes, he didn't even know how to bulletjump or void dash with operator.

So, no restriction to Eidolons, thanks. If you're feeling that superior, make your own group. I've had far fewer problems with MR10-16 (even those guys as Nyx, Valkyr or Excalibur are trying to help - ask them to do something and they'll be happy to do it) people than MR23+.

You don't need a Riven to do the Eidolon hunts, that's an absolute joke.  I'm MR25 and not one of my Eidolon hunting weapons has a Riven.

Stop playing public games, you're doing it to yourself.

You have to understand that since Riven introduction, the whole community thinks weapons are completely unplayable until you have a Riven for it. That's a shame.

You know how in some games if we try to do high level missions or fight high level enemies the game shows us that's not a good idea by marking said missions or enemies with red level indicators or healthbars, DE could do something like that to deter players from high level things like this because most players simply don't know they're not ready when going into these missions.

As for the mr lock, as many others mentioned it's usually high levels who are leeching or not trying as hard as they should. You know how you go into a defence mission on earth to farm relics and you see low levels fighting hard but you just sit there tanking all the hits too bored to do anything because there's no challenge from those enemies anymore? That's what those high levels are going through, want the loot but too bored to do anything and don't realise their team might be struggling.

I used to spend time setting up groups for Eidolon hunt through the recruiting channel : looking for a Volt, Chroma etc. to get to the "meta" team composition. Result : lots of time spent on the chat, negotiating who's taking which gear, etc.

Then I got to a level where I can solo the first two with my Trinity. I then chose to start public hunts right at the beginning of the night. This is when I believe you find the people interested in the hunt.

Frankly, I've never had too much trouble with leeches in pug. I found beginners learning how to fight Eidolons -we all did- and doing their share once told what to do, one or two guys without Operator who just took sh*t and left, one or two who couldn't jump to the altar to place the shard (and yes that sucks), but more importantly, some very good specialists with whom I did my best runs.

I almost exclusively run pugs now, and don't regret it. In my experience, the advantages way outweight the drawbacks.

Overall - I'm not in favor of blocking access to such or such mission to a certain group of players. I believe this is unfair and against the principles of that game.

Master rank doesnt mean Anything you could be rank 11 and could have an amazing amp, that could do a lot of damage on eidolons. many people say if your higher your better, if  your higher you have just max ranked more stuff, sure lower levels might not have that much experience doesnt mean they dont get to at least try

As someone whos only MR13 but enjoys soloing the Teralyst, I hope this doesn't become a thing. I understand why you may want more competent teammates through MR restricting this activity but this can easily be solved by you joining a clan and finding people with similar interests.

people's been *@##$ing about this for months, could you guys just please give it a rest already?

I have a clanmate who's good at hunting eidolons, even though he's MR 9.
I have a clanmate who just returned after a long hiatus, not knowing any single thing about eidolons, and he's MR 23.

See my point? Stop *@##$ing about it and teach those newbies if they don't understand, and they will be better in their next eidolon hunt. If all you do is only *@##$ around, complaining about newbs, and ranting about this, then you're not helping the community.

blame DE for no tutorial for this, most players are too lazy and won't check this forum and or the wiki for How to do something.  In end if you want to farm them make a team and agree to make a schedule for that team to farm them on preset days, other wise pugs will sour you and then you will have to build to carry one or more in that pug

Making a MR restriction for the Teralyst isn’t going to solve anything, anyone of any MR can be a leech in a squad.
