(Corpus Boss) Commander Rayne

Commander Rayne a female commander who took part in a project to wear the first prototype warframe designed by the Corpus. Who was diagnosed originally with congenital analgia(similar to Hayden) however they could not mimic the biological properties perfectly similar to how the Tenno are made since they are still a big secret. So instead a different path was taken and grafted a special suit with powers similar to the warframe and much more was equipped to her. The pro is she is now powerful enough to go toe to toe with a Tenno, the Con is she has lost all feeling or so she thinks.

Commander Rayne lures the tenno into a trap in a cargo yard... Similar to a Cargo ship trailer yard where the metal boxes are stacked high. Kinda like a maze.


However these boxes can move through out the fight with the boss, but thankfully you can still wall run over them. Once your deep in the yard she will make an appearance destroying some boxes and to block the entrance you came into the maze from. Meaning only one way out, but you should have no intention to leave till she is dead.

The fight starts and immediately it becomes apparent she can use Volt's Speed, but when she uses it time literally slows down causing you to move slower, but if you use Volt, and use speed you will move at normal speed again. Her speed last as long as Volt's maxed out, with max continuity.

During this time she will use a blade whip which extends from her left arm if your not rolling when time slows she will attempt to impale you with the whip and then begin electrocuting you as she pulls you in to impale with her plasma sword extending from her right arm. You can shoot at her as she pulls you in. If you don't manage to do enough damage to her left arm before she pulls you in you will die instantly when she double impales you. Since once both swords are in she will rip you in half. (Shooting her left arm works similar to shooting out jackal's legs it will deactivate the impaling mechanism freeing you, also stopping the speed ability abruptly.)

when she isn't using speed ability (she changes tactics at random so you can't keep up with how she will attack you next)
A. when her shields are empty, and you manage to do enough damage to her she will start up link ability just like Trinity and be immortal unless you want to do enough damage to kill your friend then do more damage to her. However, she only does this till her shields are full and had a moment to regain composure again. Which may last about 10 seconds after her shield is recharged.

B. She will pull out a Supra, and a modified Lanka and dual wield them with barrage fire from the Supra, and sniper fire from this modified Lanka that shoots through objects, and your teammates. So never stand still.

C. Sometimes at random she will cast Bullet attractor on one of your friends and combined with B. more or less they are going to be dead...(This only happens if more then one Tenno is fighting her)

And eventually every once in awhile she will go back to using speed to slow time again, and impale you once more for a double impale rip you in half death.


Now then... Why is she fighting you?
1. Because she can't feel pain anymore or so she believes so therefore she fights you because your the strongest warrior in the solar system that she feels can make her feel pain again.

2. Because she wants to learn more about the Tenno.

3. She wants to prove her suit is better then the Warframe.

Now what happens when you defeat her? she escapes by setting off explosives around the yard stating that you helped her to feel pain, and that she feels almost a love connection with you, as you were the first since she grafted the armor to her body to help her feel again, and therefore wishes for you to come visit her again and fight her.

If you lose... although its never shown but should be hinted(with a cutscene where she walks over to you reaching out to grab you stating that you have to get stronger) as she doesn't truly kill you. Instead through the miracle of Corpus tech she patches you up again where she leaves you empty handed to be picked up and brought back to the White tower. (The Corpus are the closest to discovering the tech behind warframes, they have dissected many Tenno. For her to patch you up again would be a simple task)

This creates event continuity with the chance of her either interfering with your plans just to have fun fighting you, or helping you... She is pretty much insane due to the lack of feeling, and only feeling when she fights Tenno... Therefore her decisions are erratic, and unpredictable when it comes to the Tenno creating a myriad of possibilities between her and the Tenno Player.

The still have military titles such as Lt. Nef Anyo. Even Drug runners have military styled ranks.

 

Should could be an inquisitor but she is also her own scientist studying the Tenno. She acts on her own mostly due to insanity. None of the other Corpus bother to fight with her as she would utterly destroy Nef with ease, Alad V. would cry in terror, and horror as she would butcher his army tenno style. The board simply lets her go about what she wishes because it in some weird way of chance helps stall the Tenno long enough to allow them to do their own operations. Since Tenno would be trying to take her down over and over, with her popping up to stall Tenno during her assassination missions. While the corpus do their job behind the scenes.

 

She gets the job done so no questions asked. As they say money numbs the pain... or in her case Money shuts the board up. She successfully wields a Fake Warframe with incredible power. Being one of the most powerful protector, Inquisitor, and possibly most terrifying leader of the Corpus Force.

 

The Tenno would fear her more greatly then the Hyena. Sparing a Tenno would be considered far worse then death in the matter that she beat you and sent you back in shame. She would enjoy fighting Tenno purposely standing in your way every step of the way when you try to interfere with MAJOR Corpus operations. With the possibility of fighting Grineer if they get in her way as well. Who knows. She might be more terrifying then Vor if he ever got in her way torturing him to death and becoming the third most dominant female character in Warframe under the Sister Queens of the Grineer Empire.

 

But as I said she WILL NOT ONE SHOT YOU... unless you fail to break free of her dragging you into your doom. That is the only time she can kill you in one shot otherwise the Lanka, and Supra won't kill you. Also you could easily kill a Loki if she links him and then you shoot her with an Ogris which in turn kills him lol... Shooting her left arm is easy. The impale from the sword whip won't kill you. Its when your in point blank range she kills you. Just don't let your friends get pulled in to her face. Plus the person being pulled in with a good gun like Lanka, Snipertron, secondary weapons like Despair, Lex, and various other power weapons could easily break her hold over you. Just bring heavy hitting guns, and be sure to have enough rounds to break her hold on you. That easy... Also bring a Volt on your team to use Speed on the whole team it is NOT MANDATORY!!! But similar to using fire on golem, and Phorid it HELPS...

 

(Also she doesn't shoot while time is slowed she is too busy trying to impale you with her sword whip and pull you in.)

As a merchant cult, the Corpus should eshew titles entirely (Nef Anyo and Alad V don't have them) or be religeous or corporate in nature. Rayne doesn't sound very Corpus-y either.

Something like Inquisitor Raey Na or Sector VP Resh Y seems more apropriate, IMO.

She sound too powerful. One shots are never fun. A 2 or 3 hit kill? Fine.

I would also get rid of the Dark Sector connection, but I'll ignore that. I've butted heads over that enough :P

No.

She doesn't slow and use Lanka at the same time. You have time to shoot her left arm while time is slowed down. It doesn't take much(unless your weapon is bad with damage) to break yourself free from the impaled blow.

If you're not following up on Dark Sector why the congenital analgesia? There is no indication that's required for Warframe use.

 

But as I said she WILL NOT ONE SHOT YOU...

That's the purpose... Some players may take the more selfish path... This fight has purpose on a personal level. Killing your friend possibly your Volt Ally on purpose to do more damage to Rayne will leave you open if she suddenly decides to slow down time. If your gun can't dish out enough damage to her left arm while slowed down then you have sealed your own fate...

 

Trust in your allies, your squad, your team, your clan, those around you is key to defeating Rayne... See she doesn't work with the other Corpus members her insanity causes her to follow Tenno blindly taking pleasure in fighting them. She knows many Tenno are selfish and will hurt their own allies to achieve victory. She takes advantage of selfish Tenno like a True Master of combat which is why she earned the prototype Fake Warframe. Her skills far surpasses the basic Corpus crewman. She is cunning. So the link takes advantage of selfish Tenno purposely targeting Tenno who hold powers that can bring the battle advantage to their own court. The Selfish Tenno will fall...

 

Edit: Never sacrifice your allies.. have them sacrifice themselves willingly for a cause they believe in that will allow the squad to win as a whole.. not separately.

Link is fine I guess.

 

But there is one thing, How does Link work after her shields are up do you just shoot her again till her shields die and she uses link again?

 

Cooldown ? Jam ?  Like Lech kril's ice pack?

She uses bullet attractor because obviously Nef Anyo had a Mag captured (remember when you fight him your there rescuing fellow tenno, plus he drops mag BP.) During the time they may have spread some copy tech around which led to Inquisitor/Commander Rayne obtaining it to use in her suit.

 

Rayne switches between abilities. She never returns to it again. If anything she may go into a repeated pattern sometimes of Time slow-> Barrage fire-> Link-> Bullet attractor (if more then one player)-> barrage fire-> time slow-> barrage fire-> bullet attractor-> link-> barrage fire->Time slow

 

edit: When shield is full again there is a 10 second wait before link stops. Also she will only use Link after using Time slow ONCE.
