Warframe Concept: Tora

Heya folks,

Another warframe concept that has taken form in my head for you to peruse. There are a few similar themed concepts around the place but this one should be a bit more unique from the rest.

Tora, the tiger themed warframe. This originally started as an idea for a druid-like frame, with several different forms, with abilities that change depending on the form. One idea led to another but in the end I decided it would be simpler to keep it with one form. Thus the Tora warframe has ended up being more like a Weretiger frame rather than a shapeshifting druid. I'd love to share some concept art for him to give some awesome visuals, but I am 100% awful at drawing. If you are reading this and can draw some I will give you 2 free norgs.  (Also for those who didn't already know, Tora is Japanese for Tiger)

Tora, The Weretiger Warframe

The embodiment of a natural predator, Tora stalks his quarry until the moment he strikes, rending flesh and tearing them asunder.

A gaunt but hulking warframe, Tora combines agility with strength, having a long torso, broad chest with powerful arms and fingers ending in claws, slim but powerful legs and a large helmet sporting fangs and a slightly elongated muzzle, characteristic of an earth tiger. Oh, and a tail! Tora walks upright, but stands hunched over, as if ready to pounce at any given moment.

Base Stats (at Max Rank):

Health: 125 (325)

Shield: 75 (250)

Armor: 250 (400)

Energy: 125 (200)

Sprint Speed: 1.15

Passive: Feral Reflexes

Tora has improved agility and recovery.

Tora has Innate 25% knockdown recovery, and 40% faster recovery from a long fall, as well as -25% status duration on self.

Ability 1: Feral Leap

Tora launches himself forward in a frenzy, eviscerating any enemy who doesn't escape his reach with his Exalted Claws. Tora is harder to track while airborne and for a short time after landing.

Tora will leap forward at speed, knocking over any enemy he lands on and will automatically perform a melee finisher using his claws. If he should not reach a target before landing, his will slide for a short distance on landing and cannot use this ability again for the following 5 seconds. Tora benefits from 10% increased evasion from when this ability is cast and lasts for 4 seconds. Melee finisher strikes from Feral Leap count towards your combo multiplier and Tora will gain 1 stack of Bloodlust on kill.

Energy: 25

Strength: 5% / 6% / 8% / 10% (Evasion multiplier)

Duration: 2 / 2 / 3 / 4 s (Evasion duration)

Range: 10 / 12 / 15 / 20 meters (Leap Range)

Ability 2: Predatory Instincts

Tora prowls, hiding himself while he stalks his prey and planning his next strike. On leaving stealth, the next attack has increased damage and lethality.

Stealth ability, which grants a bonus to enemy radar and vision of enemies through obstacles and walls. On leaving stealth, the next attack within 2 / 2 / 3 / 5 s will deal increased damage and has a higher chance to critically hit. As with Ivara's prowl, Tora will have slightly reduced movement speed. Additionally, If Tora makes any attacks during this time, stealth will automatically deactivate and proc the damage buff to that attack. Gear and objects can be interacted with during Predatory Instincts. Similarly to Ash's bladestorm visual effect, the colors would wash out with this ability and highlight the enemies detected as red smoke silhouettes.

Energy: 40

Strength: 100% / 125% / 160% / 200% (Damage multiplier)  |  40% / 50% / 65% / 80% (Critical chance)

Duration: 8 / 10 / 12 / 15 s (Stealth duration)  |  2 / 2 / 3 / 5 s (Bonus attack duration)

Range: N/A

Movement Speed Bonus: -15% (Stealth speed penalty)

Ability 3: Predator's Roar

Tora let's out a leonine roar, imbuing his allies with increased lethality and terrifying his enemies.

A sharp roar, designed to improve nearby allies critical chance and forcing enemies into a state of panic, fleeing from Tora for a short time. If this is too strong in testing, it could have an initial duration of the buff (perhaps 5-10s) which would then decay over the remaining time.

Energy: 75

Strength: 40% / 40% / 50% / 60% (Critical chance)

Duration: 8 / 12 / 16 / 22 s (Crit buff duration)  |  1 / 1 / 2 / 3 s (Fear duration)

Range: 16 / 18 / 21 / 25 meter (Crit buff range)  |  4 / 4 / 5 / 6 meter (Fear range)

Ability 4: Primal Form

Tora channels his primal energy, abandoning his humanoid form for his true, animal form, hardening his skin and unleashing true fury upon his enemies with Exalted Fangs and Claws. Tora feasts on his prey, absorbing their life-force and gaining bloodlust on kills.

Tora drops down on to all fours and becomes as a tiger, gaining increased armor and forgoing his weapons for Exalted Fangs and Claws. On Primal Form kills, Tora gains Bloodlust which regenerates 1% of his maximum health pool, stacking up to 3 times for a very short duration. While Tora has Primal Form active, he may activate any of his other abilities, and gains increased sprint speed and parkour velocity. While using Primal Form, Feral Leap cooldown is reduced to 1 second.

Energy drain: 10 /s

Strength: 80% / 90% / 110% / 150% (Armor bonus)  |  100 / 125 / 175 / 250 (Damage)

Duration: 1 / 1 / 2 / 3 s (Bloodlust duration)

Range: N/A

Bloodlust Regeneration: 1% MaxHP/s

Maximum Bloodlust Stacks: 3

Sprint Speed Bonus: 20%

Parkour Velocity Bonus: 50%

Feral Leap Cooldown: 1 s

Ability 4: Primal Form - Exalted Weapons

These would have their own stance, with attacks unique to fighting with tooth and claw. Combos would include wide swiping claw attacks for multiple enemies and lunging bite attacks for concentrated damage on single targets, with a powerful lunge attack with knockdown for the power attacks. Range would be short, but would have better forward momentum in attacks and lunging attacks to keep on enemies in melee range.

Attack Speed: 1.25

Channeling Damage: 1.5

Block Resist: 75%

Claw Attacks: 75 Impact | 75 Puncture | 100 Slash

Claw Total Damage: 250

Bite Attacks: 75 Impact | 200 Puncture | 75 Slash

Bite Total Damage 350

Critcal Chance: 35%

Critical Multiplier: 2.5

Status Chance: 25%

Slam Attack: 300

Slam Radius: 5m

Slide Attack: 750

Wall Attack: 750

Conclusion:

So that's pretty much all i got so far. I'm happy to expand upon it as more ideas come to me but I'm pretty happy with the concept so far. The fourth ability does bear some resemblance to Valkyr's hysteria in both form and stats, however without the damage and status immunity, survival becomes much more important for Tora and players will need to adjust their play style according, as opposed to a yolo approach to melee combat, especially against higher level enemies. I envisioned this frame as a hit and run specialist that can also sustain some brawling without getting splat on the floor once enemies get past level 30.

Let me know your thoughts! Is it boring, broken or brilliant? :highfive: Gimme all your feedbacks. (Apologies for any typos/bad grammar, it's late at night)
