Jin-
I personally have no problem paying for games i enjoy. It is on a equivilent basis as buying a beer over the weekend. I may not of even liked the beer, i may not of even drunk the beer and it might not even be for me. Or maybe a sandwhich or a meal you truely disliked, maybe a bet you placed at the casino. Think of all the money we have wasted that does not even bother us abit in hindsight but when it comes to paying for stuff on the internet we are all very hermit about it. Why do people squibble over a few dollars when the game is already FREE to play? Theres always the argeument where people say "I already got the game, why do i have to pay more to use it and enjoy it?" This is the case with your car, your house, your appliances (electricty and repair) your computer, your xbox/playstation. These all require money AFTER you have bought it. jai151
Biggest one on the market currently? Guild Wars 2. Real money price on gems, or spend fake money for other fake money. The game's a huge success. So uh...to those who "omg devs will be homeless" .... BAM! Make a better game if that's your issue. That being said, clearly Warframe is not designed currently around any type of market system besides "shut up and take my money" ... so that'll have to change before they can even think of allowing players to get free platinum. It is definitely something they can toy with AFTER they've decided upon a working market. Fine. Shell out $60 up front for Warframe and they'll switch to that model. Money has to come from somewhere. If you are playing the game and not buying platinum, you are doing nothing but draining money. So in order for the game to survive, it must hook those playing for free to buy in. Giving all premium content for free will kill the game, as it deincentivizes purchase. It's a losing formula. Guild Wars was able to adopt the model it has by cutting as much infrastructure support as possible and charging an up front buy in. Without that up front cash, the game would have collapsed before it even got out of the gate. Edited May 13, 2013 by jai151
Ryanshow
Change topic title to "Slow free money" That is essentially what this is.
FragPenguin
It would be interesting to have the option to use Credits to accomplish things that only Platinum can accomplish. BUT...the cost would be ridiculous. Rushing a weapon construction: 25 Plat OR 350,000 credits. Quick-Purchasing a Warframe: 225 Plat OR 900,000 credits. Buy 500,000 Credits for 350 Platinum. Decisions, decisions.... Edited May 13, 2013 by FragPenguin
Emotitron
Credits are monies earned in game. Platinum is monies bought with cash. I don't see any reason to blur those simple lines either. Gotta vote no.
