KudoT
Hi all, when I'm playing a mission my screen will randomly go completely black, I can do everything I normally could like run around, shoot, use abilities ect. But whenever I try to show desktop, alt+tab or alt+f4 I can't, and i end up having to restart my PC.This is only happening in Warframe, anyone else had a similar issue that they've fixed before? I'm going to give fresh-installing drivers a shot first and fore-most but I have a feeling it's not going to do all that much.Brief list of specs: OS: Win 7 x64CPU: i7 5820kRAM: 16gb Kingston HyperXMOBO: MSI X99S SLI PlusGPU: 4gb GTX 980Thanks for reading and any replies in advance,-Kudot
Grobbus
Sounds like a driver issue to me. Check the event viewer (Click the windows button > type : event viewer > Windows logs > Applications ) and try to find the moment that you 'crashed/freezed'. KudoT
Thanks for the reply Hunter, I've just had a look at the event viewer.I have 2 entries from WMI with the message "The Windows Management Instrumentation service has detected an inconsistent system shutdown." So I'm going to assume these are when I had to force-restart my system, the only thing that consistently appears just prior to those are the 'NVNetworkService' and 'NVStreamSvc', however there are no little yellow warning triangles.I googled when the WMI starts and it's apparently 15 minutes after system startup, logging the entry with "Windows Management Instrumentation Service subsystems initialized successfully", now between that and the inconsistent shutdown there are only 2 events that were in between the other inconsistent shutdown, and that's those Nv services, so I guess it's safe to say if something here IS the cause it's the Nv services? They all happen within the same minute too.
Grobbus
Try disabling NVStreamSvc, you can do so by opening the Command Prompt (cmd) as administrator and typing those commands*sc stop "NVStreamSvc"sc config "NVStreamSvc" start= disabled(*make sure you type them exactly as I showed you or just copy&paste it otherwise it'll not work)
KudoT
I've disabled them via MSconfig, but for the sake of it I run the CMD as well, here's hoping all goes well!
KudoT
All seemed to be going well, but it has happened again. So it's not the NV stuff by the looks of it. Will play till it happens again, take a note of the time and scour the logs as best I can. Wish me luck in finding any answers.
