  1. For those of you who don't know, an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) is essentially a giant puzzle and mystery used in games and the internet. It can be anything from analyzing visual clues to deciphering code and they're very creepy and fun to partake in with a community. Some examples of ARGs that you might know are the Cloververse ARG (for the Cloverfield movies) and the Mount Chiliad Mystery in GTA V.

I think if DE started an ARG sometime soon and continued it until the release of The Sacrifice (which can't be too far off since we got the prologue) it would be alot of fun and would keep the community very engaged in the events and lore of Warframe. It would also give DE a chance to explore more of the story and give players small tidbits of of the lore to experience, also Warframe is best when there's a creepy mystery involved IMO.

    what do you guys think?

Seconded. I'm not as interested in Umbra himself so much as I am in the lore surrounding him and his quest. I mainly play Warframe for the lore if for nothing else. Sure, I level weapons and Warframes, but that's just for the fun. I've had plenty of laughs with friends launching Bombards off the map with explosive weapons, I've had fun glitching through the map and completely crashing the game. Warframe is one of (If not) the best games I have ever played. I've had hiatuses, but I always come back for updates especially of large size just so I can get my hands on the lore. The lore and story is what I am after, and if the Sacrifice and Umbra aren't completely loaded with it, then I will be disappointed.

Man me too, I feel like there's so few of us who are actually engrossed in the lore. I literally cannot stop theorizing about The Sacrifice

  3. So I've been becoming increasingly hyped for this quest and was examining the trailer for the umpteenth time and something clicked.

We all thought Ballas' narration was just that: narration, but what if it isn't? In the Sacrifice trailer, Ballas is speaking to Margulis!

"All miracles require a sacrifice, for their lives...yours." He is saying this directly to Margulis as she is dying (the heart monitor noise in the background) and heres why:

Ballas loves Margulis and she loves the Tenno. Ballas isn't very fond of the Tenno and knows that none of the other Orokin are either, but he wants Margulis to be happy, so he devises a plan, but there must be a sacrifice: Margulis' life. "For their lives...yours." He is directly speaking to her saying "if you want to protect the Tenno, you must sacrifice yourself."

The most nonsensical thing about all this are Solo clans complaining they have the most work to do Is because they want to play an mmo...alone.

DE has been trying to change this for a bit apparently through their efforts of hema and now this event. This may start being a common thing to stomp out solo/dead moon clans which tbh shouldn't even exist.

Either get with it or grit your teeth.

Exactly! CLANS ARENT MEANT TO BE SOLO

Mmmhh.... I dont know... I've been in my own 1-man clan for a while and stood like that because everyone I recruit eventually goes into a 30+ day leave and I have to kick them.

There was a case where the guy was a beggar, asking me to give him prime parts (some I gave, like the ones I had in huge stockpile and easy to get), the moment I said "no" once he left.

I'm in a pickle if I actually want people there or not.

im a one man clan too, it sucks alot. which is why i hope this system makes clans enticing and thus people actually join my clan

based on what I heard from the previous devstream, it seems that the main reward in this system is unlocking new things for the dojo... could it be fun? possibly. Have they made it sound like the rewards are going to make it worth doing... not so much yet.

oh, hmm. Maybe the new things with the dojo are maybe new research projects and special augments

  7. So I've been following the new kingpin system very closely over the last month and they revealed quite a bit of info on the system on yesterday's devstream and im so excited!

I really think this system could pump new life into clans, since they said its designed to be challenging/for groups, meaning people will want to actually join clans now and do content together. I think if they make it so the rewards are unique and worth the time, its possible that this system could become one of the new "endgames" and has alot of potential.

Now we just need dark sector conflicts back ;)

New game modes would always be a good thing to maintain player interest.  I've been interested either a dungeon style game mode.  A longer game that could take close to half an hour with a couple of mini bosses and an end boss.  They could have unique moves that make them more than bullet sponges, give out unique mods, weapon BPs, and finally a curencybtgat allows players access to something.  That way you have a short and long term motivation to continue going.  The other is to create missions that show up once a day for one planet, and take the player through a short narrative in one planet that fleshed out some lore, gives a reward, and changes randomly.  I think they could accomplish this a little bit like sorties but the lire being more of the goal instead of the reward or higher level enemies.

    This 100000% yes please

  9. I noticed while running the Kuva fortress defense mission that Lotus says "The queens are trying to create kuva through alchemy." and found it odd that she says "queens" since we gain access to the missions after we "kill" the elder queen, so my question is; is the elder queen actually dead? She still feels like a threat and is even presented as a current threat despite being defeated.

If she's not dead, did her body survive or is she going to use the process of Continuity to survive?

p.s I love the elder queen and I think she's a really well made villain and I hope she isn't actually dead and I hope she returns

I want more lore, more stories. I want a continuation to the story of stalker. Like who he was before and such.

lore is a huge thing for me aswell, i think warframe has some of the best sci fi material ever

  11. Personally I want a complex system to acquire umbras.

I was thinking something like this:

On the new planet, special rooms spawn that hold a mini boss (similar to Orokin vaults) they drop new mods and weapon parts, but also, a piece of a key. Once you've collected all pieces, this key can be created to enter the assassination mission ala Lephantis style access. This boss would not only be difficult, but, would be fun and have lore implications. This boss would drop open access to a special tileset where you complete a challenge or boss to get an umbra. Make it difficult, make it long (these are supposed to be the most powerful Warframe after all)

how would the forums not rage about it? It had been about 2 years since founders access stopped being available, leaving all excalibur fans unable to get an upgrade for our favorite frame. And suddenly DE appears giving exactly that to players on another server, claims that it will come to us asap, and then start delay after delay after delay during 1,5 additional years and the excuses (in my eyes lore and the cinematic quest are just excuses) might extend that delay even more.

    yeah, barely different:

I am definitely looking forward to the bard frame but the dojo needs a lot of love. My hopes are that they focus on fixing bad glitches and adding those mythical clan created missions and obstacle courses.

I do believe clans/dojos are getting a major upgrade this year with a new assassination mechanic type thing where the dojo will serve as head base for the operation and clans need to participate together to take down the target (sounds like U20 material, maybe even as a 19.15 update or something)

I just want Umbra to be finally released. seriously, it's on the road to 2 years of delay and the last we knew is "it´s in the talks"? c'mon, the frame is finished, it was supposedly being released shortly after the second dream, then it was leaked to be part of the war within, but the script got scrapped. De gave us "the vacuum within" claiming that we had been waiting for it longer than for the war within, but umbra still being delayed with no signs of being anywhere near to be released, so I hope for the umbra to be part of U20 since it wasn't on U19 nor U18.

From my understanding, the only reason why we even talk about umbra is because of the Warframe China debacle getting it and others not so most likely they decided they might implement it but want to implement it with a story (since we've been hyping it for years) and i doubt the actual umbra frames are done, i don't think they'd give us the China one since it's a reskinned Excalibur that barely looks different

Frankly, if every cinematic quest is going to take as long as TWW to come out.. I'd gladly see them abandon the whole thing again. We had far more frequent big updates before TSD. Yes, there was some intermediaries, Lunaro, Specters, but the real big hitter, the next juicy bit of story, TWW, came out a -year- after TSD.

I think the reason that happened was because the war within was supposed to be those 3 major updates all in one (lunaro, SoTR and TWW) so they most likely had resources spread thin and probably didn't have a proper idea as to what they wanted to add (TWW feels unfinished and kind of as if they lost track)

is there any word on what U20 is going to contain?

I mean we are at 19.8.1 so its not going to be too long surely? (hahaahahahahaaaha)

U20 is thought to be (maybe confirmed) the umbra update which would include a new cinematic quest. It's difficult to judge when this would be coming since they're being very hush hush about it (mitigating hype maybe?) And would most likely include umbra variants of either a few frames or all of them

I want a completely new solar system, not just a single planet with a few nodes.  Also a brand new faction.  Of course this isn't U20 viable, so nevermind.

I feel like we'll get there eventually as updates have gradually begun adding meaningful content, but, just simply adding a new challenge for stronger players that actually challenges them would be a great first step

I would like a new area though, maybe something that starts at level 50 or 60.

Exactly what I'm talking about. The highest level area is the top branch on the void and that's 40-45, which basically nothing once you start collecting "meta" gear and becoming mega powerful. Besides sorties, we have no reason to become that Powerful, if DE added a new planet that was challenging all around it'd be so great!

  19. Recently I've felt that Warframe has had a shortage of long lasting content for example: u18 brought the challenge room mods, while simple, add a vast degree of longevity to the content, people still farm them because they're good and the content is somewhat challenging (the puzzles). However with u19+ we've gotten nothing that lasts. Rivendell could be considered a long system but they're so iffy.

For U20 I really hope we get not only a longer quest, but also, a new area/planet etc... That is a new level of difficult. With this they could add a new reward pool to gear up for this new area. I also hope they create a intricate and fun system to acquiring umbra frames, something that lasts, something that remains a goal for us to complete for months to come.

Those are just my thoughts on present and future, what're your thoughts?

  20. so i just came across the room in kuva fortress that has the orokin relics and kuva tanks which i find super interesting.

The main reason why I find this interesting is because it means theyve been harvesting kuva for some time, yet kuva has yet to be properly explained as to what it exactly does. Yes teshin gives his speech about it with the staff, but like he says, its more of a novelty than function. So why collect it?

Not only that, but, in the centre of the room you can find tanks with plants and organisms in them, coloured like kuva stuff. Are these kuva plants or something? Where does kuva come from? Ive seen some theories that the orokin empire was able to thrive and expand so much thanks to kuva, so again...what is it? and where did it come from?

side note: where did worm go? what's she up to?
