I want to know can I play well without paying?  I only got around 8500 maximum damage...(headshot + crit).

Yes definately. Playing well in my opinion is more about practice, levelled up mods, effective builds, and choosing which frame to use based on situational choices of mission against frame type. Personally I prefer to keep my plat for expanding the number of slots for all the frames, and weapons I've acquired through gameplay. Primes are nice because they give small stat boosts over the base model. But they are entirely collectable for free. Most of your strength will come from the mods you apply. Since Mastery rank is derived from unique equiptment levelled you'll want to aquire and use every frame, including the non-primes eventually. Again a personal observation but if you buy frames, weapons, mod packs etc, instead of farming them why would ever play any mission more than the one time to unlock it? To keep the games longevety let your play time do the work instead of your wallet. The Necros Prime is sweet, but as with all primes only a small improvement over the base Necros. If you want help or guidance in farming frames, weapons, and mods, be they base models, primes, corrupted, Nightmare etc, message me on PSN, and join us in building our collections.

For new players I would recommend ahead of Necros, frames a little more tanky, such as Rhino, Frost, or Valkyr. But your priority should be collecting and upgrading mods. without the mods all frames are weaker.

  2. Not everybody is an endgamer. Not everybody has all the best mods. Nerfing Loki would just be a kick in nuts for those still climbing. If the problem is with ID, then balance ID. Don't nerf, balance. Balance is a long term solution, whereas nerfing just makes something else get nerfed next until games are unplayable nerfed messes. The concept of maining a particular frame is short sighted and doesn't account for the situational benefits of using different frames. There's no need to nerf Loki. Its not op. it's just a good choice for certain situations.

  3. I've been on ps4 Warframe for 2 years, Mastery lv14. But recently I bought an new windows based pc, where my other pc is Linux. Now I am running both OS options, I downloaded WF to the windows machine. Obviously standard keyboard and mouse are woefully inadequate for playing WF with. What are you guys favourite or preferred Hardware items?

  4. I believe the best approach would be if each player has their own individual storefront. You reserve the item you wish to sell or trade so it can't be accidentally sold while still advertised in the store. if you wish to sell a reserved item outside of the storefront, it prompts you to confirm it will be removed from the listings. You set the price you wish to achieve so ppl searching for that item can see lists of all those on sale and see all the prices being asked for. Sales can be completed automatically by meeting the asking price, and sellers don't need to be present to complete transactions. Players can also leave store messages if they wish to arrange counter offers.

This degree of transparency in what the spectrum of asking prices is, will create more balance as buyers reject extortionate rates, and sellers can more easily see what amounts are obtainable. The system becomes self regulating as an approximation of items true value will evolve. Sometimes an item will become scarce and higher prices will naturally become attainable. Sometimes items will become more common and prices will naturally drop as sales will drop off until more acceptable prices for the availability are set.

  5. The following two instructions are at odds with each other. could we get an edit that makes them aligned please.

Players are asked to post 1 thread per auction (and/or 1 thread for your storefront and 1 thread for WTB/Looking For). If you want to re-post it 24 or more hours after the original one was posted, please notify a moderator by reporting your thread with the report button to request its deletion. Once it's been deleted you may post it again!

  6. I went with ' I prefer decorating my own Dojo.' & 'see more rooms' with the following in mind.

I'd propose a new room be available in the dojo that is a players personal space. This space can be walked into, teleported into, visited or invited to. If you walk, or teleport into the personal space you will be in your own room. If you are invited to a personal space and accept, or elect to visit, you will be in the room of the space owner. Space owners can select whether to be open or locked to visitors, and/or customers.

Personal spaces can be used to display frames, weapons, trophies, noggles etc. Loadouts can be assembled, configured, modded and worn. Decorations can be individualised. Messages can be left by visitors, including offers for trade. There would be an interface for commerce that allows room owners to transfer saleables to the shop interface and set prices for offline automated sales, remove unsold items back to the inventory, and alter prices. The same interface will allow you to search for other peoples sales by item, category, rank, price etc, then choose to visit their space to make purchases or just to be nosey if they allow people to view their whole room in addition to their shop.

  7. Do you think the Greedy Pull change is sufficient?

People don't want Mag in their team. It doesn't really distinguish itself when the going gets tough. At low levels regular pull was very useful for interrupting enemies, or relocating them out of melee range of anything or one you wish to defend. At higher levels pull is too weak, crush isn't effective enough and too long to animate, and the mag falls over fairly easily when when out of sheild polarise. Mags best asset was the ability to power team mates via the Greedy Pull. Making G-pull just pull for the user alone is just a waste of a mod. You may as well just make regular pull work on energy orbs too if it's just for the user. Mag scored over Trinity because Mesa would kill Trinity's victims before the energy was received and keep the relevant 25 metre range for receiving energy devoid of sources. G-pull turned Mag from the Waterboy to the star player. Now it's back to the least valued end of the bench again.

So what are we really talking about here? are we talking about a broken game? No, I don't believe so. Are we talking about an activity taking away from the games lifespan? Again I don't believe so. So what is it about? It is about Grind Vs Platinum. G-Mags don't overly shorten the lifespan of the game by making it too easy to get what you want. That accolade belongs to platinum. But what G-Mags did do is to significantly reduce how arduous the grind was. DE gave us the tools, and we devised the best way to use them. But now the balance between grinding, reaching for our Bank cards, and the games reputation for being enjoyable and free-to-play has been shifted too far. DE make a fantastic game that we all love to play. But this is not an act of charity. They are reliant on us being enticed into buying plat to keep them in business. We need to buy plat to keep Warframe up and running. We need to buy plat to keep the awesome updates rolling in and improvements created. By shifting the balance between arduous grind or easy farming, this great free-to-play game, potentially would not be supportable on it current scale. DE need to earn and wholly deserve to earn an income, with some degree of profit. Unfortunately putting the waterboy back on the bench leaves a sour taste in the mouth. I am hoping a new less severe solution can be thought up that would not just kill the Mag. Maybe some new mission types that favour the mags ability set? But with the current proposal, when it comes to selecting preferred frames for specific tasks, Mag is again going to become the last kid picked for the team.

  8. Frames I find the most use for, and these are completely situational decisions:

    Banshee

    Frost

    Loki

    Mesa

    Nova

    Rhino

    Trinity

    Valkyr

    Volt

    Also Value:

    Hydroid

    Mirage

    Vauban

    To pick just 5:

Banshee -Imobilise enemies, lots finisher bonus, and highlight weak spots for criticals.

Frost P -Defend & protect everything, brings enemies into close range and makes them super slow or snap freeze.

Loki P -Invisability and Radial Disarm, you don't get shot, your team don't get shot, Brings enemies into close range

Nova P -Makes a grown man weep :p Makes the strong weak and everyone dead.

Trinity -Imobilise tougher enemies and make them your source of health and or energy, Suck to death enemies with high stats in a way the conventional weapons can't, and restore health and shields to team while granting short term immunity to damage.

  9. Movement Speed

Generally movement speed is fine except for when you make a tactical decision to, for what ever reason, bring a slower frame, and find you're in a fire team with insanely fast frames, making your relative travel time painfully lacking.

    Spy missions

Ideally the game is best with fire teams. But way too often do Spy and rescue missions get, at least reduced to less than optimum results, and unacceptably frequently become a complete failure, due to randoms rushing in all gung ho, setting off alarms, failing hacks, getting data destroyed and captives killed. For this reason I have taken to setting my games to invite only when playing those modes, to preserve the themes of stealth and patience.

    Completion-ism

Yep affirming status as completionist. It is my goal to collect and max out every frame, weapon, and companion, and to complete every mission, event, and codex entry. The way I play it, warframe and games like it, the process of collecting, and unlocking frames, companions, weapons, mods, regions, gear etc, is equally a major part of the game as the actual missions themselves. For that reason I will only ever spend plat on slots to place my frames, weapons etc into. I observe with some dismay a large number of, now former players, that used cash to buy plat to buy all the frames and weapons, then discovered they had no goal to pursue anymore and so stopped playing. From the position of a player wanting to enjoy the game for a long time to come I would rather that it was a slow burning flame, than burning at both ends. From the position of completionist, the title only has meaning if completion came from endeavour rather than just buying it.
