What I propose, is a bit different. Most of the guns have (here comes the legit translation from Ukrainian to English using Google Translate) "butt of the rifle", which can be used to stab enemy to death. Also, almost every weapon can be used as a blunt weapon, or piercing one. For example Burston Prime, Karak, blades of Tigris and Akjagara, blades of Akstiletto, that is which first came to mind.

My idea is next - allow the use of any weapon in your hand to perform a melee attack, and remove quick melee completely - you will have to pull out your melee to use.

Quick melee is impossible - imagine the powerful and very heavy hammer appears in your hands in a split-second - the next moment you are able to shoot again.
