  1. I wasn't pitching for an ut-like game mode. Shortening the bulletjump would not take away the general sense of warframes gameplay. I was rather proposing a method that might lead us to a solution without expensing to many resources DE might not want to put in.

I too don't necessarily like using similar weapons to unreal tournament and would rather want to see bows, semi auto hitscan beams, glaives, and maybe operator synergy.

Take a look. I really thing Warframe pvp should be more MOBA or Titanfall than UT.

I like the idea of having an objective centered strategical moba'ish game mode. That would be actually very interesting if done right.

But every pvp system needs well defined rules and restrictions. They cannot be built on top of the pve economy because the weapons in warframe don't follow any rules and have no boundaries.

MMO's and MMO-lite games have the unique opportunity to provide broader context and meta activities to core pvp gameplay which all standalone ut/quake remakes lack. Those communities always are left frustrated searching for the next one because they have no meta gameplay or variety outside the core modes to attract more people.

That is where my perspective is coming from anyways and I can totally see multiple systems work within conclave/pvp just because of the amount of variety warframe offers.

This thread kind of sums up everything wrong with pvp. It's like unreal tournament instead of like Warframe.

I think I know what you mean but most problems with conclave are symptoms of underlying misconceptions. You can't create interesting maps on top of an undecided gameplay concept and you can't balance weapons on top of unbalanced movement systems. Balancing movement and projectile speed in a coherent way seems necessary to me in order to focus on a vision.

Otherwise everybody just points in a different direction and any feedback becomes useless.

  4. I kinda like the idea of mobility variety like with quake champions but the speed in warframes conclave is just too fast ... bullet jumps give far too much air time making it near impossible for projectiles of any kind to hit. It is not a matter of difficulty why people shy away from this. Even smite as a moba suffers from this problem where you can't hit anything without cc or luck. It is not rewarding at all if hitting an opponent means that the enemy did something wrong instead of you something right.

Doing mobility right and balanced is the first thing in PvP that has to be done before we can have any kind of discussion about economics.

Sry if I'm hard to understand ... I'm usually very bad with words and hope you can see where I'm coming from.

  5. With the recent ambitious display of the direction DE wants to expand its universe I tried to think of ways to make it more appealing to other kinds of gamers who just can't be interessted with the way Warframe is being played or because of the lack of coherent PvP.

I loved the way unreal tournament 2003 & 2004 felt and hated the innate mouse acceleration in ut 3 which is ruining epics games for me till today (and I know how to turn it off in a config file).

I am glad Warframe kept the same feel and I am sure other competetive folks would too if we had a coherent PvP mode.

With the little resources DE can offset for PvP and the stagnent state of conclave I would suggest to fork the existing conclave into the following:

    Conclave:

    - Mod economy

    - Abilities

    - Same movement setting as before

    - Has no Lunaro

    Vanilla PvP:

    - No Mods

    - No Abilities

    - Normalized hp, shield, armor, sprint speed

    - Has Lunaro

    - Same movement as Lunaro including tackling

    - Dedicated Weapons similar to Unreal Tournament (like Flak Cannon(Drakgoon), Rocket Launcher(Ogris),Assault Rfile or Minigun) or (Bow with infinite ammo, Assault Rifle with Nade launching alt fire, Shotgun with rocket alt fire where nades and rockets would be pick ups)

-- Extra Weapon for operator combo which is a combination of the Link Gun and the Shock Rfile(1st fire like the rapid fire Link Gun projectiles and 2nd fire like the Shock Rifle orb)

    - Melee weapon is always a Glaive that cannot be drawn and only thrown per quick melee

    - Operator enabled who replaces the Warframe upon transference instead of leaving it in a stationary pose

-- Operator has a dedicated amp (1st fire like the semi auto Shock Rifle beam and 2nd fire like the channeled Link Gun Beam)

-- no focus or arcane perks of course

-- no shield & lower hp then warframe

-- switching into operator should be risky but also rewarding in making combos (maybe give transference a cooldown)

P.S. Having a PvP mode decoupled from the PvE economies might be very necessary in order to build something up with feedback. Maybe we can start with this and see where it  goes.
