  1. Absolutely not. We founders spent money on what could have been a complete failure, several of us spent over 100 bucks to help fund this game. Excalibur Prime and the other exclusive items is our way of showing that we dedicated money and time to the game when it could have easily have been a failure and abandoned with our money.

When it comes to Excalibur Umbra, I am completely open and actually super excited about that warframe, as it is a way for non founders to get a "prime" version of excalibur that probably has actual increased stats (unlike Excal Prime, which has default stats). Heck, I'd even be stoked for an Excalibur Umbra Prime, if it wasn't for it being exclusive to the Chinese founders pack.

  2. On the topic of Vacuum and where to put it, have you ever considered having it as an Exilus mod for Warframes? This makes it still an optional mod for people to chose to equip or not, becomes available with or without a companion, and actually fits the description of Exilus mods perfectly.

  3. Another solution to hopefully make everyone happy is make the Vacuum ability into an Exilus mod for warframes. That way it doesn't take up a valuable mod slot on your warframe, can be used on any warframe without a companion, and provides a "modified" gameplay experience through the form of a mod that people can either equip or not.

I think this would probably fit best under that category of mod, as that's the entire purpose of that slot is to equip stuff that is not really needed, doesn't make your warframe stronger, and really becomes optional as to what you put in there, if anything.

Mandatory mods don't give you a choice. It's like not using Serration and Multishot on any weapon.

It's the same problem Augments have, a lot of them should be included into the skill by default because of how bad the skill is by itself.

Except Rush is an actual mod. This is just another bandaid disguised as a mod.

Vacuum offers the same type of modification as Sprint, in that you are perfectly capable of surviving without it. Some people don't use Sprint because they are perfectly capable of getting around the map quickly without it, just as some people don't need vacuum because they are perfectly able picking stuff up without it and are actually able to manage orb intake more effectively without it.

Reasons for Sprint to be a mod: Isn't necessary for surviving higher tier missions and some find it more effective to run without bumping into walls.

Reasons for Vacuum to be a mod: Isn't necessary for surviving higher tier missions and some find it more effective to manage orb and ammo intake without vacuum sucking them all in.

Just as DE has said themselves, Mods should be modifications to the mission experience (taking into consideration mandatory mods are a known problem). Vacuum is a perfect example of what a mod should be, just like the Sprint mod.

Add an on/off toggle. Problem solved.

Or we could leave gameplay changing aspects of the game for actual in-game modifications, rather than a setting. That's why Mods are called mods, because they provide a modification.

Saying we can make this an on/off toggle is like saying we should turn the sprint mod into a slider.

It isn't. It should be an innate 12m Warframe passive.

Can't have useful QoL changes I guess.

Not everyone wants an innate 12m vaccuum. I'd prefer leaving that health orb for later when I am down to 50 health rather than 10 away from full.

  7. I've been using Kavats since they came out, and before that I've been using Kubrow primarily, with the exception of the Helios for scanning. I really don't see how people have such a big problem bullet dashing into sliding to pick up resources, which takes less than a second to do. Even when playing Titania, I've found there to be little problem picking up resources, taking around 3 seconds to pick up what I drop. It's not like you have to quit combat just to do so, as you can still shoot and use abilities while picking up drops.

The trade off of a few seconds for some more reliable assistance in combat many deem worth it. The exception to this is people who refuse to take the time to get accustomed to spending that extra second or two to pick up some loot and/or health/energy. It really just takes a few missions to get used to doing that, and the rewards of doing so are immediately noticeable.

Nice try assuming everyone doesn't want a universal vacuum.

That's all fine and dandy for you and your play style. Not everyone is so enthralled in having to stare at the ground for pickups resources such as health, energy, etc.

I don't get why like you people are so pessimistic leaning against people who happen to want a universal vacuum. How does us having said vacuum affect YOUR play style whatsoever? You can still stare at the ground all you want for items. And we can have our vacuum. I see no correlation between the two play styles, absolutely none. I don't see why you made such a big deal by calling us crybabies.

I never said "everyone doesn't want it". And I said make it a mod for those who do want it. It's another band aid effect, so make it a band aid mod.

This is the end and I probably triggered a lot of people so I am going to say something that everybody agrees with

    Give universal vacuum

Nice way to assume everyone wants it.

I personally like actively thinking about picking up energy and health because it makes me more aware and actively thinking of how low I am getting.

Also picking it up on my own is more fun and giving everything vacuum is anti-fun.

In short, not everyone wants global vacuum. Make it a mod or something for the cry babies then they will realize how important other aspects of the game are.

  10. The downside to having a marketplace (and the outcome DE has stated they want to avoid) is the abuse of the market place. Some of the rarer items will become monopolized by individuals able to buy everything at a lower price, then turn around and sell it at a high price with much ease. A market place is also too easily automated. Take note of all of the times the market place in games that use such a market place have crashed.

EDIT: Before someone states the buying low and selling high is a business strategy, keep in mind since those items would be monopolized, it would be at a much higher price and the worth of platinum would sink, therefore making it harder for individuals who trade for platinum rather than buying them to obtain items through trading.

  11. I've actually been enjoying Titania. I've played her almost exclusively since she came out in all tier missions.

I've built her with >200 duration, ~180 range, ~130 efficiency, and ~80 power strength with a good standard rifle and melee build.

Going into her ultimate form eliminates cast time problems and also remedies her squishiness, but build a bit of health to deal with the downtime of the ultimate.

  12. The new system makes sense from a standpoint of trying to make the game more interesting. Now you play a lot more of a variety of missions, leading to less monotony. You can still play endless missions if you enjoy those mission types, with the reward being self satisfaction. I would like to see better scaling rewards, even (and possibly especially) if it includes exponential rising of quantity of Endo rewarded.

Even if this was the starting position that OP had, it changes nothing of the validity of their arguments. Nobody thinks you're clever but yourself.

Their argument is invalid in that not making the Suda Heliocor does not stop the Suda weapon from preventing scans. It will still have that AOE regardless, so if you want to go only scanning and don't want the AOE, use the normal Heliocor. If you want to scan stuff AND have the AOE, use the Suda Heliocor. I like the idea of having a weapon with 2 passives, rather than having a weapon with a passive that looks nice with the other weapons, then an unrelated weapon with the same AOE I get from the other weapons.
