  1. I really don't see why people are still posting in this thread, you're never going to change these "big" guys' minds.  The rules are clear, the event ends at a certain time, and you don't get to bring friends into your clan when it starts.  When time is almost up, you gotta call it in, and extract.  Complaining and insulting doesn't fly so good here.  Considering that you're all giving these people attention, free of charge, really makes me think.  It's admirable, a lot of loyalty for a player, but you don't need to defend the devs, they can do it themselves.

I commend these guys, nobody cared who they were until they put on this mask of determination and won a load of events in the past, and even to the last minute, they still committed to a victory-winning run to try and pull it off..  Considering how long it took for -dicht- to do their big run, trying to compete with that must've been extremely painful.

For the Warbros that are stirring up trouble in this thread: Is getting caught by the moderators really part of your plan?  I'd have said nothing, rules are rules.  Considering that I saw another thread earlier made by the same guy, which WTC 7 was controlled demoltions, I'd say you got caught, now what's the next step of your master plan?  Crashing your clan's reputation, with no survivors?  You might be thinking "I'm in charge here!", but you're not.  Just take a chill pill, and take this one on the chin, there's always next time.

As for -dicht-, good job, you really worked hard on your victory, hats off to you.

  2. I don't know if this only affects Gmail, but requesting a new password doesn't work.  Despite filling in the correct information. and the Recover Password confirmation window popping up, the email never arrives.  Nothing's blocked, and it doesn't even appear in the Spam folder.

  3. Glad to see the Codex finally get a little attention, however, there are still issues that remain.  I have provided screenshots to illustrate and document these errors, in this Imgur album

    • Lanx (the shark-thing that appears in the underwater tunnels on the Grineer Sea Labs tileset) is still in the Objects section, despite there being a Wildlife category available in the Factions section.  See #1.
    • Security Camera now shows up in both the Corpus category of the Factions section, and the Objects section. See #2 and #3.
    • The progress bug on the Security Camera, which first popped up following the introduction of the Codex, is still here.  Just to be thorough, after this update, I tried re-scanning one when it was in scanning mode, and another in alert mode, both times it gave off the green tint, indicating that it's entry was already complete, and the scans did not contribute to the scan progress. See #4, #5, and #6.
    • The Nightfall, Twilight, and Sunrise Apothic Imprint (researcher audio logs) entries from the Silver Grove quest are still unavailable to some of us that completed the quest "too early" (when it came out).  See #2.  Running, and finishing, the quest missions with someone that still hasn't done the quest, as well as attempts to scan each "individual" Shrine before and after anointment, both in the quest missions, and visits on the Grineer Forest tileset, does not yield any of the entries, at least in my experiences.

    Spoiler

On a minor note, when will John Prodman be added to the Codex, now that he's an actual Broker in the Index?

  4. This is a step in the right direction, but why go from a Carrier-only Precept mod, to an innate ability for all Sentinels (with horrible range), then back to a mod for all Sentinels with the original range?

You know how you guys were talking about trying to patch and fix things so there wouldn't be as many "necessary" mods as there are for builds?  Well the only thing out of this mess is that you've made another one.  People can go "ooo ur lazy, just pick up the items xD" all they want, Vacuum is a pure Quality-of-Life buff, and innate Vacuum for every Sentinel (would've preferred all Companions or Warframes) was a good decision, although that range nerf certainly wasn't.  Plus, I don't know about everyone else, but I find more enjoyment out of shooting things, than having to pace back and forth a hallway to pick up things like a janitor or somebody that's dropped a jar full of change.

Shoot, despite what they say, even your in-game Community Mods think the same way, if their stats are anything to go by.

We've had a summer of content and fixes go out, but the hype for big older brother (which we've hyped a lot) War Within just makes everything we've done feel… just less. Really I'm here to lay out October for you so you can get just excited about what's coming soon on PC.

    "soon on PC"

We're starting to hit Blacklight: Retribution levels of SOON here.  When Zombie Studios (Hardsuit Labs now, since Zombie shut down) finally dropped the Parity Patch, it almost completely killed the game, because of how long they took and what the final product was (a buggy mess that broke the recoil system).

At this point, I'd almost say it'd be better to release the update now, bugs and all, or actually stick to your estimated time of release this go around, considering this is, what, the third or fourth time it's been delayed.  Which is pretty generous, since you've said that it is now "more than a month away", which can be any amount of time if you wanted it to be.  These delays will only make people think that you're going to release a polished update with, at the very least, minimal bugs that will blow the socks off of everyone that plays the new quest.

There is such a thing as "overhyping" something.

    Spoiler

And fix the Codex already.  Lanx is still in the Objects section when it should be in Wildlife, the Sculpture and Apothic entries are still borked, and the Camera progression bug is STILL present.  Bless up and good luck.

Call me skeptical but i can't see this working very well together. Pre-made groups stomping PUG players and penalizing pugs for leaving out of frustration.

Yeah, and in addition to that, if you want to play with your friends, you have to hope that you either get another group, or that the other guy is willing to stick around long enough to (hopefully) net a teammate.  Me and a bud spent 15 minutes sitting in the lobby because we were stuck on the same team, and when we finally found someone to join, he immediately left.  Right now, with these changes to matchmaking, me and him would be better off playing a different game if we wanted to play a competitive mode.

  7. Fantastic post, these are good points, and I especially agree with point 8.  For me, the biggest thing I've really disliked about the new changes is the way they've set up matchmaking now, when you want to play with friends in pub mode.  Before the SG update, me and my buddy would usually hop onto Conclave, and play against each other until we got bored, or people started filing in because there's people actually playing, up to the point where we'd have a full game.  This is something we've always done with other games like Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor 1/2, even Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm.  Now, we're stuck on the same team and we can't get the ball rolling.  Neither him nor I can swap teams to start playing, and we were stuck in the Conclave lobby for a good 15 minutes until finally someone showed up, and they immediately left because I assume they were discouraged by the uneven teams.  We ended up just calling it quits and focused on doing the new Quest.  If this is a change that's here to stay, I can't really see us, or at least him, playing until the next big update hits.  We like messing around in Conclave, but if DE adds more PvP mods in the future, we're going to need rep to get them. We could split up and just try to play separately, but what fun is playing a game with a friend if you can't actually play with/against them?

Stop talking about the thing i don't like people talking about.  I know why people are talking about this thing, but I still don't like thing.  You forced me, held my head and made me read all 47 pages of people talking about the thing I want to read about and the thing I don't want to read about.

There really is no reason for you to talk about thing.  Even if there are multiple reasons of how the two things are related and how one could have an effect on the other, you should listen to me.
( In order to understand this, you talking about the thing I don't like, and my choosing to read it regardless, is akin to a person forcing another person to chew packing peanuts.)

Alright then, let's take a break from public discourse for a bit.

What are your thoughts about this poll then?  Are you pro-release or pro-exclusive?  Do you have any possible solutions that could make both parties in this matter satisfied?  Personally, I'm all for compensation via a sigil, a badge, or a syandana.  You know, as long as it's fashionable and fits with my Excal build

I would like to ask, how the conversation about Lato and Braton Vandal became a tremendous offtopic about the founders packs?
And I do not understand it yet, at what here the founders with their stuff?
Guys stop this mess. Pay your shattered attention to headline of topic,
focus your attention on it, and be so kind, stop this nonsense;.
This is applies to both: instigators and those, who were succumbed to provocation.
Reading unnecessary text can irritate those of us, who are not interested in a ton of worries, fears, wishes or thoughts about things, that are not related to the subject.
    advance thnx.

The reason that the Founders Program items keep coming into question, despite the poll and topic of discussion being the Lato and Braton Vandal, is because both CB and Founder items award Mastery Rank XP and are unobtainable (at the moment) to the majority of the player base.  The popular opinion appears to be that, while DE did not anticipate the game lasting this long, much less thriving, it was a bad move to tie mostly unobtainable gear towards game progression, especially now that Mastery Rank has a bigger influence on the game now.  Some folks also interpret this as a test case for how they should proceed to possibly release Excalibur, Lato, and Skana Prime in the future, and gauge what the reaction would be towards such a move.  [DE] Rebecca did state in the past that the Vandal series (at the time, being only the Braton and Lato Vandal) were "exclusive" and "lobbying is not encouraged" to have it reintroduced to the Open Beta players (see: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/38144-may-1st-hot-feedback-topics/), but since they've brought up this discussion, it's clear that they're willing to reel back on this.  It's now certainly plausible that they'd be willing to re-release the Founder items in the future.  It's unfortunate that this discussion irritates you and your feelings in some way, but it is a discussion that was bound to happen, especially if they'd be willing to do it for Closed Beta items, and it is one that people seem to be happy to talk about.

My biggest issue with these Vandal weapons, as well as the Founder items that I find the far more important issue, is the fact that no matter how you look at it, these items give mastery and in the case of the Founder primes, will inevitably become upgrades to the normal versions, DE is withholding progress from players.

Edit: Never mind what was in this last bit before, if I'm going to show exclusive mastery, I'll do it correctly, 61k mastery is either partially or entirely unobtainable now, 12k of it is Founder items, the other part is market retired or event weapons, like the vandals, some will argue that amount is meaningless as it isn't an actual rank worth of mastery at high levels, but it's still progress.

While I agree with you that withholding weapons that influence MR is detrimental to the player base at large, only 18k of the 61k mentioned is relevant to the discussion (CB and Founder items, with a mere 6k being the actual topic (Braton and Lato Vandal).  The rest of those weapons have either been released again via alerts, or will be released again in some form, judging from almost every event weapon pre=Vulkar Wraith (save for the Latron) being released again.  Perhaps DE could make them readily available to all players?  I know that during a discussion on a board, an excellent idea was brought up, "Event Simulation"  Someone, perhaps Cephalon "Personal space is a social construct" Simaris could allow players faux participation in past events, with the given event weapon being your prize for completing the objectives.  This would also allow players to catch up with the lore of the game, and better know the game's universe, characters' agendas, and a glimpse at their personalities.

    Spoiler

The Tenno line "The Grineer have no honor." is false to me, considering Sargas Ruk's commitment to his troops, and your alliance with him, as indicated by his letters and voice lines during the event.

Founders items cost real money ($20 - $250 USD, as an example) to purchase, and those purchases helped save the company.

Vandal items cost a few credits, not real money, and did not help to save the company.

Founders items are a Thank You to from DE to Founders who helped pull Digital Extremes from the brink.

Founder packs cannot return because DE doesn't need saving as it did then. Vandals could return, as I've outlined in my other post.

That, sir or ma'am, is my logic.

Are you implying that the time and efforts made by CB players was also not vital to Warframe, and DE as a result?  While cold hard cash will always be essential for a fledgling project to survive, to imply or outright say that the feedback, bug reports, and suggestions given by Closed Beta players were not worth their weight in gold, and were not necessary to "save" the company and game is foolish and insulting.  As players have seen time and again, it doesn't matter how much money you pump in a video game if the game is unplayable or not desirable.

  11. I'd rather they:

    A) Keep the Lato and Braton Vandal exclusive to CB players, and continue keeping Excalibur, Lato, and Skana Prime exclusive to Founders.  .The Lato Vandal was given as a thank-you for all of the feedback and suggestions given in order to make Warframe playable for the masses.  I see the Braton Vandal as a token of appreciation given as a "thanks for sticking around long enough to see this go public", considering the window to get it was only during the week of the launch (much like the Black Mesa Crowbar for Blacklight: Retribution).  The Founder Program items were an incentive, as well a thank-you, for having enough faith in the game to support it monetarily.

    or

    B) Re-release the Lato and Braton Vandal, as well as Excalibur, Lato, and Skana Prime free, for all current and future players to get.  How they could be obtained would be up to DE.  Award CB players cosmetic items in replacement of their Latos and Bratons, like a badge and a sigil, maybe even a skin of some sort.  Obviously, keep the Founder badge, sigil, and Council chat exclusive to Founders, and give them a skin as well (just spit-balling ideas here).  This has been the case with previous event weapons, where the badges and sigils remained obtainable only by event participation.

Personally, the biggest argument I'm seeing for pro-release is "I don't have it, and I want it, so release it again so I can get it", which is fine to feel.  However, keep in mind that the CB players that have stuck around long enough to see this discussion finally come up are usually only defined by the fact that they have a Lato and/or Braton Vandal.  As others have suggested, while they do have rather poor stats, compared to other, easily-obtainable weapons, they generally hold sentimental value and a reminder of how far along the game has come.  Giving them to everyone would devalue it's sentiment value (to an extent, of course), but also feels like the devs are saying "Hey, thanks for helping us pan out all the bugs and tweaks to make the game desirable to the average player, but we're kind of stuck in a rut here, so we're just going to give out to calm everyone down. thanks champ!".  Not to mention, [DE] Rebecca already stated that " They are exclusive. Lobbying is not encouraged", in reference to the Vandal series, which, at the time, was the Braton and Lato Vandal, suggesting that like the Founders Program, they would honor their promise and keep the items exclusive as thanks to CB players.  If they're going to retract this promise, I see no issue with retracing their promise to keep Excalibur, Lato, and Skana Prime exclusive to the Founders' Program. considering it was supposed to end before Open Beta, resulting in it being exclusive to CB players as well.
