Feels so very relateable, except for me it is SMD components and a soldering iron that is way too big.

Exactly what I was thinking about at that time. Why take thousands small steps, when you can take 1 big step.

I'd say yes. It is like walking around with a little cannon. A cane fused with the barrel of a bofors shooting angry beans.

Will there ever be enough dakka?

"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls, when firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time all being stuck in a never ending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession no one able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the materium turning the Warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry. Then there will be enough dakka.

    Or at least almost.

I stopped playing TOR a couple of months after they went "F2P", but I still enjoy the cinematics as well as the narrative compilations, that YT content creators put together. On the other hand, there's little of what Disney have churned out, that I found enjoyable, or even watchable.

Rogue One. I liked Rogue One.

The last Star Wars games I played was the OG Battlefront 2 and the LEGO Star Wars games, other than that I haven't touched anything else. And with how EA is (and have been over the last couple of years), I refuse to buy games where they are invovled in any fashion.

I am not a fan of the never Star Wars movies either, Rogue One I can agree on. Though I do like the Mandalorian and Boba Fett.

At least someone is still telling decent stories in the Star Wars universe...

    Too bad it is EA.

Because of their poor performance, they don't have the "license" to be the single Star Wars game publisher, so that is good, because [redacted] EA. So much they have ruined ...

Sad to hear that. I can only say, don't give up.

There are cheap alternatives for kettlebells, dumbells and weighted balls, and numerous videos and other resources on training on the net. I've seen everything from cement-on-a-stick and jerry cans to old car parts being used as improvised training equipment. On top of that, there's calistenics, training using your own bodyweight.

I blew out my knee in my teens doing martial arts, and had to get extensive reconstructive surgery. Three years later, I was doing 180kg squats and nearly half a ton legpresses. You can recover and improve, as long as you have the proper knowledge and listen to what your body tells you. I'm old now, but even with chronic pain in nearly every joint in my body, I still try to get through my exercises. I have a few kettlebells and dumbells, two weighted balls, elastic bands and a pilates ball, and very little space to move around in my tiny apartment. At some point I want to start at a gym again, but until then, the few things I have will do.

    And a little inspiration:

    -snip-

My mood is all over the place, most of my problems stems in that it doesn't make sense for me (and that the political stuff doesn't help but just make it worse by using "force"). I am close but yet far away, because I have gotten 4 months at the place I like, but it is not full time hire and therefore I still have to waste time with applications (which is also stupid). And because it is 27 hours only, it doesn't give enough to break neutral but I am happy there.
My leader is with me but he can't do a full time hire because the higher ups doesn't agree (so far), but the workload and demands says otherwise and my leader knows that. I hope it can evolve, my performance speaks in my favour and they are satisfied with it. I have until October and then I throw the towel in the ring because the government doesn't want to be helpful with their new rules/laws.

I have had my knee fixed, but I am not allowed to put too much pressure on it. I have a small weight set (modular) because resistive training is good for the health, I just struggle with motivation as exercise isn't the most interesting to me (partly due to my mental state). I like walking/biking but people give me anxiety, it has gotten better but it isn't easy either.
While weight lifting is not my thing, thanks anyway for taking your time with your comment.

Having a purpose in life is a key element in longevity, research has found. Even just a hobby or favorite activity will do. I plan on taking courses in everything from creative arts to psychology and other achademic studies as well, to stave off social isolation and to meet new people naturally. Hanging out in bars and other such venues never was my thing, and always felt rather forced and contrived. Meeting over shared interests seem less so.

I can recommend weight training or martial arts to get some structure in your life. Certain other hobbies do have their... hazards.....

    8227419c8821ae6b368ca3637eb35ff7--warham

My problem ties mostly into having no excess money and therefore can't pursue diverse interests, operating at a net loss for 1.5 years now, just trying to get a job. I do have some stuff I can do, just not enough for it to be diverse.
My bad knee also gets in the way for a lot of physical stuff heh.

Thanks. Hopefully the otium will give some stability and quiet, so I can concentrate on my research, arts and projects. And it would also make it possible to see those parts of the family, that are spread all over the country. Visiting Læsø again would be nice.

That would be nice, having nothing to do drives me "insane" to the point of becoming a non moving blob.
Family time can be nice, especially when one doesn't see them that often.

Been to Læsø once, it was nice and unique.

In any case, my case is up for evaluation, and I'm probably going on disability based retirement. That'll give a bit more resources to save up for orthokine and stem-cell tratment in Germany, as well as gene sequencing and some of the more expensive body-hacking experiments.

I would prefer to work, but...
