  1. There are two types of rushers:

1st. Bypass everything. Don't even attempt to actually play the level or experience the game.  Your goal is the Extraction point, and getting there as fast as possible.

2nd. Play the level.  You move through the level as fast as you can. You kill the enemies who block your path, or use alternate routes DE provided if you are good at the French art of running away(Parkour). You don't explore the level, but you do open the crates/storage units along the way to your objective.

DE does not like the 1st rusher.  They expressed possibly rewarding those who play the level.

And as for my opinion, I don't mind moving through the level as fast as I can, but completely avoiding anything and forcing me to rush to extraction is a pain. Especially now, I mean there are so many crafting drops its unreal.

  2. Yeah this thing is in need of some tweaking.  In my opinion, If the saw blade kills someone it should just keep on trucking.  If it encounters something it can't pass through, it should lacerate them and keep spinning in them for a duration for some type of bleed damage.

Remove the ricochete, I rarely hit another target because for some reason it just bounces to the damn ceiling and disappears.  I mean its suppose to be random, but come on almost every time it goes up...thats not very random.  AND, add some crit chance to it because I've yet to see it crit.  It should have a HIGH crit chance and crit damage.

  3. TL;DR: Trophies for just about everyone.

First, the primary reason... the way event(s) currently work promotes seriously unhealthy behavior. Like, playing for 72 hours straight and developing fatal bloodclots only to straight up spontaneously die. Is that actually going to happen? Probably not. I hope not. I mean, Olympic athletes have met similar ends, but it's not exactly the most common occurrence. Anyhow, failing death, there are plenty of studies which link sleep deprivation to physical and mental unwellness. (Which I'd be happy to find if you're not already aware of them.)

So there's that. The secondary reason is also rather simple. People enjoy getting stuff. Does everyone deserve the same prize the top players are going? Not really...? If you were to think of this as some kind of marathon.... Even in the spirit of good will, it would be a bit silly to give some who ranked last place the first place trophy. This isn't a marathon though, and it's not like were'e limited to how many trophies we can give. So, taking a page from TF2, the top 100 trophies could be numbered (and dated, if the same trophies are to be used again at some point), while whoever met the goal (IE: not asking free trophies, inb4 someone didn't read) for unlocking a trophy one got a non-special, but still appreciable cosmetic addition for their dojo.

...There's also a tertiary reason. That last hotifix literally blew up the game, and even adding time to the even won't change that a huge population of players can't rank fairly anymore. :-P

    Sooo, yeah.

How is it promoting  unhealthy behavior?  Players have 72 hours to reach the level reward they desire.   Under optimal conditions, have friends or a clan that has all 3 corrupters per run, it honestly takes about 3 hours.  If you have to farm the corrupters alone, like myself, tack on an hour or two.  So realistically, 5 hours total over 3 days to get your prize.  That's not going to cause blodclots or anyone to lose sleep.

If you are comparing this Operation to its previous one, its far better in design.  The Drone event was more of a marathon.  People had to play more than they wanted to carry the slackers who didn't contribute, and if they wanted the shiney mods they had to be in the top 100.  With no leaderboards at the time, you basically had to keep playing until the event was over.  Never knowing where you stood.  That is pretty stressful, and would cause me to lose sleep.

The Fomo event has a cap, that is realistic, and anyone can reach.  Instead of having to play all 3 days, in fear you won't get your reward, you just have to reach that cap.  The bonus reward for community participation is increased loot drops.  Thus, our reward meets the work we put in this time.  If we want more systems liberated so we can have better loot drops for the week, we keep playing.  If we don't care and just want our mods we stop.

As for your trophy system for top particpants, well they took care of that too.  The reward is purely cosmetic, just like your trophy.

I hope DE continues to improve the operation system, because this one was A HUGE step forward.  But thats my opinion, and its the interwebz so opinions don't mean jack.

  4. I love time based abilities in games, but they usually focus on slowing your opponents, increasing combat reflexes, or the number of attacks.  While keeping some of those abilities in, I tried to add in other aspects.

Ability 1: Double Impact - Drops barrier/shield that increases the effectiveness of projectiles

                  Bullets - Aoe dmg

Bolts/Arrows/Kunai - No travel time Pierces through enemies

Laser/Plasma or whatever else -  No travel time bypasses resistances dealing X% increased damage

Ability 2: Time Loop - Create personal bubbles around player and allies that prevent X amount of damage or last x seconds

Ability 3: Rain of Destruction - Create a loop for x seconds, allowing players to continually fire without reloading or consuming ammo. (This would be my favorite idea, basically the Tenno recreates the bullet in your chamber over and over again in an endless supply.  And I would also add that increasing its rank increases Fire Rate.)

Ability 4: End Time - Stop time in an area, all damage done within its duration is amplified at the end.

  5. Also take into consideration that your mindset when using an automatic shotgun should not "ammo conservation".
I barely keeps up, and I honestly thought it would be a crit shotgun.

If it had that, it'd be the Grakata of shotguns, a fun little niche.

I too was hoping for a high crit damage shotgun as well. Or if it shot Slugs...(maybe to close to Boltor). Who knows, DE could buff it again. As for now, if you haven't already, try a crit build on the Strun.
  6. The issue with a shot gun is spread always make a weapon like a latron better because 100% of the damage always hits the point you click. I am not sure that Sobek is accurate enough for it to be good for that reason alone. It can't shot that far 15-20metters and I know that its not great but its not melee range. Its in a weird spot if am going to be shooting that far there are other guns that do it better.

And why use a Latron when the Snipetron does it better.  In all honesty though its about preference, and thankfully we have plenty of options.

  7. You're forgetting accuracy and range.  At mid range you can land all your pellets with the Sobek vs the Boar where you pray more than 1 or 2 pellets hit.  Its a mid range auto shotgun, for those who need to be near the action, but have a little breathing room

I love this thing on my banshee because its accurate enough to hit the smexy orange areas <blushes>.  Its also pretty fun on the Saryn, I seem to hit my bubblegum bubbles easier with this thing than my hek, strun, and boar.

  8. U9 has be pretty fun, for me that is.  Yes, the polarity slot is annoying. Yes, the aura shares precious Mod slots.  But it's still beta, and DE won't get everything right.

It would be nice if we were able to:

Swap auras after the load screen.

                      Or

Have 3 slots so we can mix and match our auras, with a mod slot of say...12.

I don't feel the auras are bad or wrong, but the implementation of them is just..not right.

  9. Soooo if you are Sayrn, you can bug out elevators by jumping and using Molt (number 2 ability).  On a few occasions I've fallen through the elevator shaft into the space beyond.  Its so cold and dark out there... so alone...SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

  10. Man I was really disappointed in Nightmare mode.  To me that just encourages the use of the "God Tier" frames, and the optimal loadouts.

Aside from that, its nice to see this topic still being discussed.  Notionphil, how do you feel about a mechanic that blocks your mod slots?  At the beginning of a cell, you have to choose what mods you want for your frame and weapons.  As you progress to a new cell you get to choose another mod slot to be active.

A rough idea of what I have in mind is like a Vision Quest type of cell, where you can discover the origins of your Warframe.

  11. Love this idea...however the constant level then Forma back to square one will get old..fast. This would make the Forma a necessity to farm, not an option, and its intended purpose is to enhance your gear by adding polarity slots so you can squeeze in that extra mod.

What I would suggest is a method to dial down the Mod Capacity of gear, because people love their death machines.  This accomplishes your goal of making content harder, because you cannot over power these cells, and it retains the purpose of the Forma.  It would also encourage players to Forma their gear.

Also, I would add that if any frame is above the mentioned Mod Capacity upon start, it voids the bonus reward for that group, so players can't be carried through the missions.  Because with this system there is no excuse to being above the ranges of the cell.
