Even if you couldn't buy Prime access, RNG and teammates means the amount of effort that went into farming any particular Prime frame varies wildly to the point prestige would be meaningless.   It's completely possible to 'farm' a prime frame by running 4 relics someone else earned and getting lucky.

Trade means having crafted something is no guarantee you actually put in any labor for it whatsoever.

With prestiege i ment prime acces becasue of the added cosmetics you can get

True, the trading aspect muddies the waters.

Prime is just an upgrade. They are nothing special.

    What prestige?

Ye, I'm aware of the "upgrade" perspective now. How I remember it when frost prime came out it was ment to be more like a collectible, since, if memory serves me right, it had barely any stat improvements if any at all. I could be wrong on that though.

You get additional cosmetics in the prime bundles that you dont get by crafting them. That is waht I ment as prestiege

I know that you might not feel special anymore for having farmed up the original release of Frost Prime, but think about all the thousands of players who farmed up their Primes too.

Prime Access is real money, which a lot of people just don't do, so I wouldn't count that for a lot of Prime frames you see. And even I remember farming up Ember Prime when she was first released, Volt too. I remember hours and hours in the Void getting the parts for so many frames.

But unlike you, I have stuck with the game over time and now I have all the Primes instead of just one or two.

At this point, having farmed and done the grind for so much of the stuff I have... what good is a participation trophy to say that I did it? I would get 18 of them, because even the ones I've outright bought through the Trade system, I still farmed up a version later and in a couple of cases actually built multiple of them to try out meme builds.

From a more pragmatic point of view I'll say 'Welcome back, you've missed a lot, happy to have you' and please don't take this the wrong way:

From that point of view... somebody who started before me, but left for years and ignored the game is not somebody I think should be rewarded for that with unique cosmetics. I'm firmly of the belief that players who put in the time and effort get rewarded, but you... kind of didn't. So... without being directly insulting, purely pragmatic, I don't actually believe that you, or a player like you, deserves anything like a cosmetic you would be describing.

I'm not saying that only I should get the sigil, but those who farmed it up. As I stated in the post above, I wasn't sure of the ammount of primes bought through prime acces so my assumptions were flawed from the start in that regard.

To your point of not putting in the effort: I apparently did back then, so I don't really see your point on "not deserving" "unique" cosmetics. The "unique" cosmetics would be availale for all that have farmed the frames up, and the more you farmed up the more you would have. But I agree with you, that this would not be anythng more than a participation trophy, which is  pitiful at best and insulting at worst. One probably gets rewarded ingame enough, I'll just have to play more to get what I want.

Due to my break in Warframe the change of prespective twards prime frames was something I wasn't aware of, and you guys made this clear to me. Your responses changed my view on the matter.

Thanks to everyone who took their time and replied 🙂

I never understood why people wanna feel special for having in-game items.

Why don't  you try to feel special by playing better than others?

Feeling special is always arbitrary. Why does someone feel special while doing sports or doing well in school? It's simply something they like doing and i see no problem or shame in wanting something "special" even if it's ingame. You think being special is playing better than others, also a completely arbitrary goal.

I honestly don't care how other people get their stuff in games or if someone else has the same stuff I do. I know how I got mine, that is enough for me. Well, I don't actually even pay attention to what other people have so 😄

Fair enough and a good mentality to have. I just might be a bit more competitive than you I guess 🙂

I don't even remember how long it took me to farm the primes...htf do people remember how much time they spent farming for something in a video game 3-4 years ago?

my opinion is that this is redundant, 'feeling special' in a game with 50M+ players can't happen, many many more people farmed the stuff you have and went through the pain, you'll never be special here, at least not entirely

just make your frost prime looks fancy af with fashionframe, that's kinda special

Sure it can happen. Not saying i have to be entirely unique or anything of the sort. Feeling special can also just be a small thing, mustn't be a whole new skin or anything.

But your point with customising it I can understand.

I don't feel it's an issue at all.  Primes were only thought of as 'prestige' items for a few months (When there was just Excal and Frost) after-which they're considered as an upgrade path.  The value that people should feel from earning their primes is the fact they didn't spend any money on it.  If it was actually challenging to earn a prime then I might understand, but as it stands you can earn them all within a few hours of release by being smart about it (I've had everything building within 12 hours of release for the past 3 years).

If it's the case that they aren't ment to be "prestiege" and only an upgrade, than that makes sense.

  8. Hi guys,

I recently started playing Warframe again, and I've noticed how many prime warframes I'm seeing ingame. It's at the point that it's almost surprising if I don't see one. With how common they've become, my Frost prime that I've farmed up when void keys were still a thing, doesn't feel special anymore. With the addition of prime access, my time that I've invested doesn't feel special anymore.

So my friends and I came up with a solution: if you've crafted a warframe ingame, you get a "crafted" sigil, so you can show everyone that you did this yourself and not because you bought it with real money. That way prime access is still a deluxe bundle with a lot of cosmetics and weapons, and the people who grind still feel rewarded for their time and effort.

I might be wrong and the amount of prime warframes acquired through prime access might be minuscule, but right know I simply cant tell.

What do you guys think/feel? Would love to hear other opinions :)

Edit: It has been made clear to me that the view of prime warframes is simply as an upgrade to the original and not much more. With this understanding I now agree with the commenters, that such "crafted" sigils would be absolutely unnecessary. Thx to everyone that replied 🙂
