I could 1: Farm focus and and do nothing fun in game that I log in to do.
2. Play the game I come to play and forfeit decent focus gains for progress.
That choice shouldn't exist.Completely agree. If I had a choice between trying out fun weapons and Warframes and goofing around with friends, or going solo for pretty much 2 hours straight on the same mission just to make a feature of the game that I'm forced to use viable, I'd choose the former any day.

Focus itself isn’t too bad when you actually have the lenses, but it’s still a pain. There is the upfront grind cost of getting lenses (which drop pretty commonly), but once you install the ones you want on the weapons you use the most, you don’t need to think about it much. I do recommend crafting an Eidolon Lens on as many of your mains as possible.
Any amp beyond the initial one is great, and they make farming Teralysts way faster.
Yeah, I tend to do the same playstyle mentioned here. Pop a few lenses on my most used frames and weapons and gain Focus that way. I also have had a good amp for awhile now (T2 prism and brace, T1 scaffold) and it definitely wrecks face up to a certain point, but eventually ends up being unviable.

Sounds like you need to learn how to play an operator.
Oh, I have how learned how to play as an Operator, but still have yet to find a way to enjoy playing as one. Yes, I think I do know what Teralysts and Vomvalysts are considering I farmed them like crazy in the early days of PoE (thank you for the unwarranted snark by the way). I have also used my Operator to kill Shadow Stalker on a regular basis. As for your not so subtle boast about getting the 250k cap in 5 missions, I do know about and have used that Equinox and melee stealth Adaro combo to get max cap before.
Now, after having put the topic train back on track after you slightly derailed it, you seem to have missed the entire point of my post. I wasn't saying Operators are still as bad as pre-Focus 2.0, in fact I was saying they're better. They're just still not at the point where I would seriously consider using them over a Warframe. As for your comment about Focus gains, sure you can use that Adaro combo to get a ton of Focus, but would you find it fun? That depends on your playstyle. If you enjoy just running in and killing things or solving data vault puzzles like me, then spending 5 runs meticulously spamming Equinox's 2, slide attacking, and then repeating that over about 5-10 minutes would not be fun. If that's your playstyle, props to you, but it shouldn't be forced on the rest of us like meta farms tend to do.

endgame stuff to make your operator good
That's the problem right there: Operators should've been good from the get-go, not requiring months or even years to make them actually viable at all.
Before Focus 2.0, the only reasons they were used was either to hold down a button on the Coaction Drift Challenge, or as a one-off energy regen boost/melee buff. The reason why: they were so enormously squishy, clunky, and weak that there was no way anyone in their right mind would use them for battle.
Post Focus 2.0/2.5, they can actually kill things (sometimes), are slightly more survivable (past level 40 enemies, Operators get one-shotted without Vazarin buffs), and have a bit of a contribution to mobility now (PoE Void Dashing), but they still suffer from the issue of: if you had a choice between machines of war that can set the very air itself on fire, take thousands of bullets to the face and just keep going, and even send enemies into another dimension, or a whiny space child that can't even take a slight breeze in their general direction, would you honestly choose the latter?
If the Operators are one of Digital Extreme's main focuses (as seems to be evident by them continually pushing them in our faces telling us to like them via Second Dream, War Within, and even PoE), then shouldn't they be "good" from the beginning instead of putting time that could be spent on gearing and modding up or having fun into a mindless forced grind that can easily be fixed with a few tweaks to Focus gains? (I'm looking at you, Convergence Orbs.)

So today I decided to try to get a few more rounds in to get the Imperator Vandal, or at least some Endo. Notwithstanding some bugginess with matchmaking (but when isn't there), I managed to find a pretty good group. We beat the fomorian and I decide to check my mission progress through Tab. As soon as I tabbed into it, extraction happened and I was left in the mission able to shoot, use abilities, and melee, but unable to do literally anything else. Here are some screenshots of what I found:
Afterwards, I found that I could not abort or use any of the pause menu functions. I ended up having to force close the client from the alt-tab menu. Please fix this for the next time this event rolls around.

That and the fact that almost 95% of drops are either Grand Finales or Starbursts, which is completely stupid since they acted before the Twitch campaign like there were going to be plat items like color pallettes and syandanas. Best I've gotten is a Wyrm and a 3 day affinity booster.

Crafting Operator Training Amp components now awards Standing with the Quills.
Will this be retroactive or will it be like all those sentient cores we cashed in that didn't have their standing buffed with the hotfix again?

Have you seen the threads on this forum? Have you seen how many different bugs are being encountered by many people? Its not just on his end. Here's just one example out of very many more:
The fact is DE attempted to essentially remake the entirety of their core gameplay and in so doing caused issues that could not have been avoided. That is why they created this forum in the first place: to have a reference point and direct source of information on the bugs and glitches that were guaranteed to happen.

There's also this drone deciding to become a mole and live underground.

Got this on a recent bounty. Apparently, the drone decided to change professions and become a mole.

Also, if the plains are buggy for some reason, that's largely on you. This is one of the most stable releases Warframe has ever seen, and I have yet to run into a right proper bug.
Normally I tend to lurk on these forums and not post, but seriously? It's "his fault" that DE didn't code some things right? It's "his fault" that since this is such a massive overhaul of the core gameplay that there are bound to be bugs? I would genuinely like to know why you think it is every player's fault for an inevitably buggy implementation of a such a huge and complex expansion.

Why were my posts removed? They weren't offensive and they weren't spam, so I don't know what warranted the removal.

Can you please fix Operators being unaffected by Ivara's Cloak Arrow? Almost every patch now there has been a fix for some obscure bug with Operators, but for the past 7 patches or more there has not been a fix for this even with me posting about it to let you guys know it exists. Why the prioritization of all other bugs with Operators and not this one?
-
When will you fix Operators being unaffected by Ivara's Cloak Arrow? You've fixed other Operator bugs in this hotfix and previous ones, but you have yet to address this one.
-
Still no fix for Operators being unaffected by Ivara's Cloak Arrow. You said you fixed it around 5 patches ago so it is on your radar, but it wasn't actually fixed.

That would work. If you wanted to completely infect enemies, it would take (with power strength mods) around 3 seconds to do it. That way if you wanted to go Spaghetti Nidus, then you'd only get the "turn to your side for a time" effect and the viral explosion at the end instead of the Infested spawn pods thing. If you went power strength but low efficiency, then you would get the full effect but you wouldn't be able to proc it as often. This is shaping up to be a pretty well balanced augment. I like it. :)
-
Actually, your ideas are better than what I was thinking. I think yours would be pretty awesome, but it would need some kind of downside.
-
I was thinking about Nidus today and thought "If Nidus is the King of The Infested, then why can't he hijack/control them?". So I thought up an augment for his Larva ability that would give it a chance to infect Grineer/Corpus/Infested and cause them to turn on each other kind of like Nyx, but it wouldn't be a 100% chance to keep it relatively balanced. That way, you could still be a Spaghetti Nidus while being a little more useful. Just wanted to put it out there so I won't forget it and other people could possibly expand on it. If you don't like it, maybe we could discuss what the shortcomings will be or what can be done to make it more balanced if you feel it needs it.

Operators unable to be cloaked by Ivara's Cloak Arrow is still not fixed.

Operators not being affected by Ivara's Cloak Arrow is still not fixed. I just did 2 Kuva missions, one siphon the other flood, where my Operator was still being targeted through the cloak field. Please fix this. I want to farm Kuva for riven rolling again.
(If you need any screenshots and the like, let me know and I'll see what I can do.)

Is there ever going to be a fix for Operators not being affected by Cloak Arrows? Also, I've noticed a very high pitched ringing that occasionally happens when an enemy dies while burning or when shot and is guaranteed to happen when a Void Fissure is active close by or a Synoid Simulor is fired nearby. Now, the latter may be because I have more sensitive hearing due to having high-functioning autism, but it causes me discomfort and sometimes physical pain to the point where I have to keep my distance from teammates if they're using the Synoid SImulor and wait until Void Fissures close before going even remotely near them. It hasn't happened in any other game or real life so it isn't tinitus and it seems to have started when the Guandao was added in.
Focus is Too Grind Heavy
in Warframes

And now, I am going to get some sleep for tomorrow. Almost 3am here and I get up at 11am. I just hope that my comments don't end up turning this thread into a flamewar by the time I get back on, but if it does, I am just going to walk away. If it turns into something constructive like a brainstorming session for Focus rework ideas, I'll happily join right in and help out. We'll see how it goes. Night all.
