  1. - Changed logic that determines visual representation of damage mods on continuous-fire weapons (eg: Synapse, Ignis, etc).

The frequency of damage numbers used to be limited by using a minimum damage threshold. Since damage mods increase the rate at which damage accumulates, this would cause damage to be inflicted more often though each damage event would not necessarily be larger. This led to people thinking the mods did nothing because they didn't notice the increased rate at which numbers would appear (an easy mistake for low level damage mods). Similarly, headshots would make numbers appear more often but not necessarily create bigger numbers.

Now continuous fire weapons now limit the frequency of damage numbers by using a minimum time between impacts, regardless of how much damage has accumulated. This gives us a lot more control and should make things more obvious for players who are applying damage mods (it's easier to notice that numbers are 5% larger in magnitude vs being generated 5% faster)”

Single longest explanation for a small change ever, but totally worth the read. Nice work DE!

  2. Gotta disagree with ThatShadyGuy.  I agree with the first three and you should always start with Hornet Strike, Barrel Diffusion and Lethal Torrent but after that you have to go with Concussion Rounds (+60% impact damage) to max out the damage output on the highest straight dps it has. Then, because it's Vipers, you have to do Pistol Ammo Mutation.

From there you figure out who you're fighting and put on the highest damage output mods for each faction. I'm partial to a Blast damage build as a good all around (Heated Charge, Ice Storm, Deep Freeze) with an extra slot to be able to add another damage type.  It really depends on what faction you're fighting but in answer to your initial question, go with a DPS build. The crit is not high enough to justify otherwise

  3. It's all a bit of personal preference but I like ss4chris's build. When formaing you may want to start by taking out one of the double lined warframe slots first.  If you know you're only going to use 3 powers for your loadout then you get double the effectiveness because you're cancelling the negative points on the warframe slot and adding more by changing it to a "V" or a "--".

  4. I hope I posted this in the right area but the title says it all.  I've been looking at the trade chat over the past couple days and all I ever see is the same copy & paste posts of the mods that "stores" are looking to sell for platinum. Most of them include practically every very rare mod out there and all of the rules that people normally have to follow for other chat channels (not spamming, not all caps) seem to be out thrown out in this channel. I like the new trading system. It allows people who are willing to grind out tons of hours to get things they wouldn't be able to unless they spent money otherwise and vise versa, but the trade channel is almost impossible to navigate with the amount of spam that's put up.

I know DE has no desire to moderate trades themselves but would it be possible to:

    a) limit the number of posts per hour in the channel

    b) limit the number of items you can offer in a given channel post

    c) limit the length of posts (more than a line or two of the chat box in the trade channel is just spam imho)

    d) some combination of all three

I know it would take active moderation of the channel to limit the number of items you can offer, but the other two may be able to be achieved electronically. Other suggestions on improving the channel are certainly welcome!  I love the idea of trading, but some tweaks could definitely be made to improve the user experience.

Also for your viewing pleasure and for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing the flood of spam, I've included a couple of screen caps taken of the chat channel in the last 30 minutes with the names of the non-spammers blacked out. Enjoy!

EDIT: Removed all player names from pictures

  5. I'm guessing the encounter is still being balanced.

By the way; does anyone know if he drops anything more then just the frame blueprints ?

The short answer is no, nothing substantial.

Codex says: Quickdraw, Gunslinger, Vitality, Slip Mag, Heated Charge, Focus, and Orokin Cell...

  6. Not sure if all or any of those were already pointed out but:

    - Anti MOA lacks codex entry

Was going to make this topic myself as well.  Additionally the "Drone" which is a stand alone enemy on the Alad V mission is w/out a codex entry.

  7. It's apparently meant as a cryptic message as it does something "special." Most I've seen from DE about it was this. https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/110274-fatal-attraction-djinn-help/

So I tested Fatal Attraction for about 1.5 hours today under different sets of conditions and below is what I came up with.  Keep in mind that I tested this with a maxed Fatal Attraction without Thumper (the shooting mod) on the sentinel (see the end for the reasons).

    What I'm pretty confident on:

    - Has the visual effect of Nyx's Absorb while winding up, and the visual effect of Sayrn's Miasma on the enemy if you manage to kill anything

    - Has an approx 5 second windup

    - Damages enemies in a small (1-3 game meters?) radius

    - Will only work/damage enemies if there is more than 1 enemy in that radius. It does no damage if there is only 1 enemy in range.

    - Does not make the player invulnerable or mitigate player damage like Absorb or Link

    - The damage it deals out is not based on the amount of damage the player takes

    - The run I did the most  was Carpo on Jupiter (Infested - lvl average 24) and it seemed to take about 1/3 of the health off of the regular enemies that were in range and it seemed like it was far less from the ancients (meaning it likely doesn't armor ignore).

    What I don't know:

    - I didn't test whether the sentinel was invulnerable while casting because I drew far more aggro then it did even when not shooting but again, it does not mitigate player damage.

-To that same end I couldn't test whether it would do more damage if it was actually being shot because no one ever wanted to shoot it

What I do know (with my somewhat sarcasm laden opinion added in):

    - It WILL successfully kill the lvl 2 enemies on MPrime every time... well ok every time if these 5 conditions are met.

    1. You happen to be in melee range of 2 or more enemies when it finishes winding up

    2. You don't actually melee them to death during the ~5 second windup process

    3. You don't actually shoot and kill them first during the ~5 second windup process

    4. Your sentinel doesn't shoot and kill them first during the ~5 second windup process

    5. The enemies don't kill you because you're leveling a frame and letting them hit you for 5 full seconds like an idiot

TLDR? It'll end up being really expensive, but dart gun will be great on your Carrier!

  8. I understand what you're saying but this is part of the beta process in my opinion. With weapons it seems like DE is actually just now starting to pay attention and think about how they are going to be releasing the "best of the best" weapons. I was sad when my potatoed and 5 times forma'd Gorgon all of the sudden became inferior to the new corpus clan tech version, but it happened. Then when they added auras I kicked myself for putting forma into several warframes because all of the sudden it didn't matter (although my potatoe'd Ember with 2 formas was pretty viscous before the nerf).

In any case, my hope is that they're going to be closely tying good weapons to mastery rank so that you'll have to go through the weapons most vets did in order to get to the best in the game weapons but only time will tell.  Anyway all I'm saying is that it sucks, but I truly believe that it's part of the growing pains of the game and unfortunately at times, those of us who have been here a while are going to suffer because of it.

  9. I actually, when I first saw the price disparity and resource requirements, supposed that these would be reusable blueprints.

Then I used it, and to my shock and horror...

Seriously?!? Name one BP that has ever been reusable.

To the point of the original post, the old team ammo restore could only be bought with Platinum. Comparing something that was only obtainable through real money purchases to something that you can craft is just not fair. That said, the concept and price (both credits and materials) aren't a real drawback on this because a team ammo restore is really geared for deep defense type missions. By the time you're ready to do wave 50 on Outer Terminus you have more nano spores, salvage and ferrite then you know what to do with.

What I want know is if they will have a craftable individual ammo restores for each type of ammo like they had before.  Something geared more for the middle game where you're still using weapons that aren't named Acrid or Despair. Those are far more useful imho because different guns consume ammo at different rates. If I'm still using the Soma, you can bet I'm going to need ammo a lot sooner then the guy with the Latron Prime.

Edit: Just as I finished hitting reply they dropped the price to 500cr, so yeah

  10. I'm really upset that they're... oh wait never mind. They gave us a weeks notice of the change which is almost unheard of in Warframe. If you think the new system is going to be to much of a resource suck then stock up now but either way, you've been warned about it.  Thanks DE.

  11. So much complaining my goodness. Everyone complained that there was no reward for individuals, then they give rewards for individuals, and everyone complains some more.  I started to feel somewhat bad for the solo player then I remember something; it's a coop game. It always has been. I play Warframe through Steam and the first line of the description is: "Warframe is a cooperative free-to-play third person online action game". That being said;

DE should make a solo event...

They did (although it likely wasn't intentionally a solo event). It was where we popped balloons remember? Everyone hated it. You may or may not have a Snipetron Vandal which you can't buy or farm because of it.

    ...
Last event I 100% soloed 252 points and didn't  make a single complaint post about that. Why because that was 84 runs total DE is now asking for someone solo to run 300 mission for the same reward.

And those of us that did it with a 4 man team did it in 25 runs. Granted it's not exactly 1/4 but since on this event we're mostly only getting 3 pts for a 4 man run instead of 4 it works out about the same.  Also remember it was 84 runs plus however many runs it took you to farm up all 84 of those Stable Corruptors, and I'm sure many would argue that this is reward is easily x3 better then some silly ammo mods.

Primed Chamber is STILL not available for the generic, fair-playing public community so don't count on it that DE will make anything available that was handed out in Event's... even if it was rewarded under false pretenses and missinformation.

I'm part of that "generic, fair-playing public community" and I didn't get Primed Chamber either. For that one I wasn't willing to put the time or effort in, in order to compete for that mod (because I'm sure you can recall only the top 100 in that event got the mod). They were clear from the start who would get the mod and lots of people lost lots of sleep for that mod. This event is different and incredibly simple. Get 1 pt get a mod, 50 pts for 2 mods, and get 100 for all 3. No competition, just working for a common good and getting rewarded for it. And seriously, it's an event. Participate and get rewarded. Don't, and you're no worse off. It's not PvP. No one is going to use the new mods against you so either complete the objective or don't... totally up to you.

For the love of god, just because a game promotes co-op play does NOT mean you should punish solo game play. Solo'ing should be just as rewarding as co-op during events. Otherwise you're screwing a portion of the player base that prefers solo play over co-op or maybe can't play in co-op due to internetz and stuff. It's like making a single player game with a co-op feature and then punishing people that play in co-op by never being able to reap the same rewards as single player - despite it being the SAME game play just with more people.

In regular run of the mill missions you find that co-op is rewarded with bonus affinity, that's fine, I get that. More players, more enemies, bonus xp for being in a group. However solo is NOT detrimented at all. Why change that for events? I mean why? It's not just punished it's MAJORLY punished by being as low as 13.2% the progression of a 4 man co-op group* and that really isn't fair, is it? In essence, it's a blatant bludgeoning of people into co-op. Thank god it's a week long event.....

*1 player earns 1 point per 3 missions. 4 Players earn 12-15 points per 6 missions. Thus: solo earns 0.33 points a mission, co-op earns up to 2.5 points per mission.

Honestly this is the most rational argument that I've seen in the 19 pages I've read through about solo play. The thing is that this game doesn't really "promote co-op play" it's a co-op play game that gives you the option to play solo. If want to grind solo that's fine, and maybe it's potato/patato, but I don't think DE is so much punishing solo players as they are rewarding people for playing the game the way they envisioned it from the start. And I commend them for doing so.

Ok I'm done ranting. Time to do some Corpus Void!

  12. Well we're now 24 hrs into it the event and the progress bar is at 69% so it looks like it'll be an easy win. I guess the clans REALLY want those statues.

To anyone saying that it should be about the community goal not the individual achievement, you're just wrong in this case and ppls lack of participation is the proof. I've done 8 runs which is 7 more then i though I'd do but I was helping friends and the like. I have a total of 25 points in this event and when I look at the individual leaderboard my rank overall is ~4700. Even if there are only 1 million players (which is likely really low as that was the number DE reportedly hit in late April, a month before update 8 & I've heard numbers of up to 3 million+) we're still talking about me being in the top 0.47% of all players.  The ones that are ahead of me have to be mostly in clans and in fact 7 of the top 20 have their names permanently tagged -EGT-.

My point is instead of focusing an event that everyone wants to strive to participate in (i.e. the other 99.5% of us) DE has created an event that only has real interest to the a small number of dedicated players.  I know it's beta. I know they have to try out different things to figure out what their core customers want. What I don't know is when the game stopped focusing on 4 person coop and turned into a clan battle game, but i guess that's the way the top 1/2 of 1% that are in clans want it. I personally just think they got it wrong on this one, and I'm just hoping this is not a sign of things to come.

  13.

I see that the Corpus Void Key Blueprints can be bought for credits. So they can be rushed and I'm assuming they have a 12 hour wait time. Even with Corpus Cypher alerts taking our time every once in awhile while we wait for the keys to finish building, is this really necessary DE? Are you trying to get large clans who want to reach to the top to rush these keys with their plat? Look, I don't want to accuse DE of doing anything under the guise of 'greed' but this is just not something they should have done. This

is asking for people to rush these keys with our platinum and is just a very unethical tactic to allowing us to spend our plat this way because I know some clans will be bum-rushing these blueprints to try to reach the top desperately. Good job DE, you've got some plat spenders but I hope you don't go under the radar for this. This can't slide by.

The key takes 60 seconds to make. I probably wouldn't rush it.

  14. Nope

    Watch the previous livestream.

Steve said the events are now designed for us to fail, and if we fail, no settlements.

I would love to see this event fail just to see it happen. DE has spent lots of hours (i.e. big money on staff) designing this new content and tile set.  They aren't going to not release it.  I'm doing my obligatory 1 mission so I will have taken part, but I'm really hoping to see if they stick to their word WHEN this fails.

  15. It's over. If you didn't get any (or 250 if that was your goal), sorry. If you did, congrats.  No resources will be missed and a bunch of ppl get some shiny new mods.  What is everyone complaining about?

If they made it come down to the wire like the last event you'd have half the active community crying that they're going to be losing resources. Nice job DE on an event well planned and executed.
