  1. So I've done the quest, fought the ghost of the lost one and got the Revenant's blueprint but there is still an issue with codex fragments. I've got all of them except the last one - the one you presumably were supposed to get once you touch revenant's hand for the third time. I don't have it and I don' think I've done anything wrong during the quest.

    Fix plz. Thank you.

The quote is literary ´skin blossomed into sword steel‘ not 'put and wrapped in sword steel'

Well yeah, in a sense that "it became tough as steel". You can put an additional layer of plastic, metal and wire on it and bam - you got a warframe, all fancy just how we like it. That sword steel could be an inner layer of armor that all warframes posess. Our points are not mutually exclusive.

Yes you could be correct but it still Wouldn't answer anything about their 'skin'

You think that infestation does all that transforming flesh into gold bits and light? I'd say no. Look at yourself during the last part of Excal Umbra's memory (the part of yourself that you can see anyway). It's black goo. Infestation warps people into horrid abominations that have tough skin and resilient body, sure. But then it's up to the orokin to cover that unsightly creature with pretty black/white plating, decorate it with shiny gold bits and flashy lights.

Just look at what they do with their towers. They're nice and regal looking, but beneath all that marble there's flesh.

  4. It baffles me to see people still thinking that all warframes were Dax. They're not all Dax. Excal Umbra was an infested Dax - that we know for sure and it makes sense since Dax are masters of the sword - just as Excal is. But other warframe models probably came from other exceptional individuals, each skilled in their own field. Perhaps Trinity was a great healer/lorist, Limbo - a brilliant and eccentric scientist, Ash - a skilled asassin and Valkyr - a fierce tribal warrior from some other planet that Orokin controlled. Makes sense, right?

  5. I actually just wrote a post about how acquisition of other umbra frames could go. I myself don't want to get another more special copy of the frames I already have, but evolving frames I already have sounds like a good idea to me and perhaps people who don't want anymore umbras will like it as well. I'll link my other post here:

  6. I hope to god that this system is about evolving our existing frames into umbra and not acquiring a completely new frame that will further clutter my arsenal or make me abandon previous version completely. It can go like that:

    • You build/farm for some extremely rare item/resource that allows the transformation. Maybe it's that special transference bolt that Excal Umbra has?
    • The process takes place in the Helminth's room (because Helminth needs to something, right?). Warframe is in the infested chair, Operator uses the small bed in the back of the room. Helminth/Ordis/whatever establishes the link between the two and the awakening begins.
    • Awakening is essentially a series of tests that check how well do you wield this particular frame and use it's abilities. Only the players that took time to learn their frame, to "bond" with it in a sense can complete them. While you play through these tests you unlock supressed memories of your frame (maybe in the form of voicelines? It's way easier to record voicelines than to make a quest for each umbra frame) and ease your frame's pain as you essentially are reliving those memories together.
    • You wake up, your frame is now an Umbra, polarities and sentient passive included.

That way it can still be your good old Saryn/Mesa/Nova/Oberon/whoever your favorite is, but evolved and not replaced by another copy with slightly different looks and a scarf.

  7. Just imagine thousands upon thousands of such threads if DE decides that there indeed will be a limited number of Umbra frames. The amounts of salt are going to be insane.

I know they've already said that btw, I mean if it'll completely be set in stone. There was supposed to be a limited number of Primes as well at the beginning.

  8. Some of your names are very good. That said Aclytes are named after negative emotions and not necessarily negative ideas and concepts as a whole (like punishment and destruction). So I've came up with a list of my own but left some of your names that I liked the best.

    Ash: Spite
    Atlas: Grief
    Banshee: Paranoia
    Chroma: Contempt
    Ember: Rage
    Equinox: Duplicity
    Gara: Conceit
    Harrow: Zealotry
    Hydroid: Guilt
    Inaros: Torpor
    Ivara: Envy
    Khora: Fury
    Mirage: Delirium
    Nezha: Anguish
    Nidus: Hunger
    Nova: Regret
    Nyx: Apathy
    Oberon: Scorn
    Octavia: Agony
    Rhino: Rancor
    Saryn: Vitriol
    Titania: Frenzy
    Trinity: Sorrow
    Vauban: Emptiness
    Volt: Dismay
    Wukong: Wrath
    Zephyr: Panic

  9. How about instead of making umbra mods suitable for non-umbras or waiting several years before we get more umbra frames we instead make our normal/prime frames new umbras (with polarities, sentient passive and such) through the use of some rare resource? That way we will not have 3 variations of the same frame cluttering our arsenal and we will get to choose which frame gets umbra treatment so noone's favorite is left behind. There can be some lore reason for it too - us "awakening" our frame's memory and helping them achieve sentience. We have Helminth (who's still weak so it can only pop our cysts, but what will it be able to do when it becomes stronger?), we have all the kuva in the world, we have the vitruvian. Come on.

  10. I agree, it does make sense from storytelling perspective as well. Just moments ago Hunhow was telling us how our warframes (of which we had just vanilla and primes) are mindless drones for us to posess, but the sudden outburst of sentience makes it clear that it is not the case. The only real difference between Umbra and other frames is having a memory, I think.

Umbra was unique because Ballas explicitly wanted him to suffer reliving this memory over and over. Others? Other needed to be pacified, made compliant and obedient, so Orokin tried different means (drugs, torture and such) and probably also erased their memory to make warframes forget who they are and what they went through. If you think about it, memories are a major theme in Warframe story. In this posthuman universe they're the only thing that makes various character what they are and their loss if often tragic.

There is another thing about memories in Warframe hovewer. Even if supressed/erased, they always come back. Ordis is caught in a loop of erasing his memories and regaining them. Our own operators had no idea what they are because of Orokin manipulations and the Dream, but we ultimately found out the truth. Eventually we remembered our past on the Zariman as well - confronting these memories was necessary for us to become stronger, realise our full potential. Suda in her human form struggled with dementia and to prevent that she became cephalon only for Hunhow to hijack her and try to erase her memory again to get control of her, essentially destroying her entire being. The Stalker's entire persona and mission is centered around one painful memory and wanting revenge, but during TSD he's conflicted as his past is now unsure. Rell is driven insane by the Man in the Wall, so we go and hunt manifestations of his emotions and that makes him remember himself and his past. The Lotus had her memory tampered with during Apostacy prologue and now she is sentient Natah, her affection for us seemingly gone. Now we realise that all of our warframes were once people who suffered and had their past erased.

Will we make them remember? Who knows, but I dare hope that we will. How? We have Helminth (who's still in his weak state btw), we have all the kuva in the world, even potentially super special temple kuva that the Unum posesses (I'm still waiting for DE to include the Unum in the story somehow). So... yeah. I'd just really love it if we could "awaken" our frames.

I don't think Umbral Warframes will be a thing. Primes would hold no purpose if they started cranking out Umbral Warframes. Lore wise it also would make no sense to have a Umbral variant of every frame, since Umbra himself is a unique case.

However, I could see them allowing us to make our previous frames turn into "Umbral" Frames by using the Helminth Chair. This could also add an Umbral Polarity to our existing frames and essentially "wake up" the person inside the frame.

If not then we'll just be stuck with what we have now.

This system would also lessen the amounth of work DE has to do. Compare making one system and maybe one extremely rare resource to convert your favorite warframe into umbra by unlocking its memories and whatnot to making an entire line of unique warframes with a quest attached to them, unique weapons and all. Converting frames is compelling too since you're basically awakening your favorite, the one frame you've spend the most time with. People are already arguing about who should be the next Umbra and with that everyone gets to choose. It'll finally give Helminth some functionality too. Let us not forget that DE are working on more than Fortuna, Railjack and New war. There are also new vanilla frames and primes, weapons, kingpin system, melee 3.0, deluxe bundles, frame reworks, new login reward system, dual wielding and who knows what else. Now add a line of Umbra frames to it. At this point I genuinely worry that they will never get some of those things done. If "a limited line of Umbra frames" indeed happes, we will have to wait for years and a lot of things I've mentioned will be put on the back burner.

Also awakening frames would be better from storyline perspective as well. It just... idk, it feels right after witnessing my completely normal and inert frame snap that blade and save my operator in TSD. You're meaning to tell me that after all that they're just a lifeless empty doll for me or for whatever other power (helminth/wally/lotus) to control, just how Hunhow told us? That's... kinda disheartening. I don't wan't the frames I already own to be left in the dust for the new flavour of the month Umbra frames. That doesn't mean there can't be any Umbras besides Excal, just let it be the evolution of older frames instead of new unique frames replacing all others.

TBH, the self-sentience of Umbra while using Transference is brilliant. Really mad I can't benefit from it on another frame right now (cough Nyx cough Oberon).

That's basically the one thing that I also want. Excal Umbra is so special not only because of polarities and radiant howl, but also because he is you know... a person.

  13. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to leave my orbiter/landing craft behind. It's been so long and I'm so used to it that it truly feels like home. It's small and not that impressive as railjack ship, but hey: every important place is in close proximity to each other and it's also furnished with like 100500 ayatans and noggles. I don't want to place them all over again 😕

Also I and probably some other people play mainly solo so i don't know if i even need all this space the new ship offers. It makes sense for clans: you can research and make it in your dojo and switch to it if you want to explore/blow stuff up with your buddies.

Also people have farmed/payed money for their Mantises, Scimitars and so on. I'm not even talking about Xiphos. To take it all away in favor of railjack ships wouldn't be wise in that sense
