Players asked that it be removed in favor of offensive buffs.
DE, in this case, gave players just what they asked for.
I remember the removal of Overheat was just as 50/50 with the community as this change.
Funny how history repeats itself.

Overheat was busted for it's time, but now should be doing fine.Not to mention there are lots of enemies that strip buffs now, where as before only Ancient Disruptors could.
Ember just needs something to protect that glass jaw of hers.

My issue isn't with the range nerf, it is with the energy cost. It's excessive considering Ember already chews through energy like a starving animal. I generally build her mid-ranged with maxed strength, and the problem is you need to use Accelerant on enemies with heaps of armor like napalms; you wont be able to afford this if you do not own Primed Flow.

This is very true, the ability has seen very little change over the years aside from the occasional nerf.

As a long time Ember player (she was my first frame since I picked up the game Feb 2013), I was looking over the changes to WoF and it reminds me a bit of how the first version of it worked
blinding red filter excluded. WoF used to be a large AoE that would deal more damage to enemies closer to you.To compensate for this, she had an ability to mitigate damage and survive being so close to her enemies, plus giving the added bonus of more damage thrown on top. This ability was called Overheat. For those who haven't been around that long ago, Overheat covered Ember in...well embers, and she gained a percentage-based damage resist and a very small AoE around her (about arms length and it didn't scale with range) that both scaled with power strength.
This ability was most likely replaced due to it being similar to the reworked Rhino Iron Skin at the time, which damage resist instead of invulnerability. But we now have Nezha's Warding Halo which is almost identical to Iron Skin is now, so I don't see the issue with this ability making a return.
Don't get me wrong though, I like the skill that replaced it. Accelerant was a great addition to her kit, and it greatly complimented the changes that were made to WoF. Rather than remove Accelerant, I opt to remove the overly redundant ability in her kit, Fire Blast. Fire Blast hasn't been useful since the days of Xini defense farming; and as cool as the changes made to it seem, it and it's augment never see use (besides being spammed by ember players at the end of a mission).
Please tell me what you all think, I am very passionate about Ember, and I hope DE does something to counterbalance this hefty change to her already crippled kit.

I want to punch 90% of you in the face right about now... You all cry and whine about how they can't keep anything up, and how everything is buggy. But then if they don't give you something new the moment they talk about it, whenever a hotfix comes out you cry and whine that it isn't the new thing that is to be released. Look at U14, whenever a hotfix came, people cried that it wasn't U14. and now that there is a login bug, you get mad at them for not Fixing whatever it is immediately. You all just need to chill and wait. If you paid for something? Oh well that's life, take a look at those old products that decided to crap out on you, "cough" xbox 360 red ring "cough"
I would've agreed with you a year ago. But the same problems from then still persist.

You would think with all the money they earned from their successful founders packages (let alone all the prime access packages), they would've spent some resources into better servers.

Oh god no, old WoF was a trainwreck. The first few months noone knew how the hell it even worked aside from making the screen blinding red.
I agree, even if they bring it back much weaker than it used to be, at least it is a better and more useful ability than Fire Blast.
I have tried making builds utilizing Fire Blast and it's augment, but it's absolutely garbage for a 3rd ability. It was alright in infested defense but beyond that it only looked cool.
