I've gone ahead and merged a few threads regarding screen-tearing on PS5. Would anyone be able to share some video clips of these tears? If it's difficult to catch on video, maybe screenshots with examples of what happened when the tearing started? We hope to track down and identify the causes of this screen-tearing, so any additional information is greatly appreciated.

Also, details about your TV/monitor setups could be helpful. Does anyone happen to be using VRR? Does the tearing improve if you enable/disable VRR?

    Thanks!

Hi the tearing only happens in the new tile and duviri for me. I lowered the dynamic resolution setting and it helps a little. Another example is the new dagoth research room in my clan, it is full of tearing, and only that room, but lowering the dynamic resolution helps a little. The fps also drops when the tearing happens. I don't know what causes it but I can be in the void for example and the game runs fine. I go to the new tile and its fine in small rooms, go to the bigger rooms or the outside area's the tearing starts.

  2. I've been complaining about the same thing for ages, and nothing has been fixed. I can be in the void and the game is fine, go to the new tile and the fps drops and tearing starts.

  3. As soon as I enter the new tile screen tearing and fps drops start. This definitely has something to do with the resolution and fps. Lowering dynamic resolution helps a little, but not to were it's a smooth experience. Something is going on behind the scenes, please DE! fix this problem! It's not the first time I've mentioned it. If I leave dynamic resolution at default, I will get tearing in all the open worlds and a few other places. Even AOE weapons cause it. But lower the dynamic resolution setting and it helps a little. I'm no tech wizard, but I'm not stupid enough to not know this isn't on my end! Please fix the game so I can actually enjoy the new tile! Thank-you.

I've ended up dragging the resolution scale all the way to the minimum to get it tolerable. It's such a odd issue

It's been a thing for ages m8, but only happened in certain areas like the open worlds and some other spots. Yes it's really annoying. I can't enjoy the update because soon as I go to the new tile the tearing starts lol

  5. As soon as I enter the new tile the tearing and fps drops, lowering the dynamic resolution helps a little but not much. It looks like a problem with the resolution and fps? I have a good TV and tried on other tvs and get the same problem, please fix this so I can actually play and enjoy the update.

  6. As soon as I play in public and join a lobby, or even open navigation, the game crashes. This happens every single day, oh and duviri still has screen tearing, is this problem ever going to get fixed? It would've been 5 years ago.

    I experimented playing in 1080p , 1440p and 4k monitor

    ps5 version warframe.

In 1080p everything was flawless when i turned on every effects  in video option. No frame drop or stuttering and no screen tearing.

    But 1440p and 4k...

Frequent frame drop and screen tearing even i turned off every effect quality in video option.

I suggest DE that they need to fix   in case of resolution is 1440p and 4k.

I was getting tearing to. A temporary fix I use is turning dynamic resolution to user 80, this helped apart from in duviri, the undercroft is fine though. I've been posting about this for ages, I'm glad to see others talking about it now.  Hoping they fix it soon.

Im 1440p ps5 version warframe player. My monitor has no vrr option though .i cant go openworld or drifters camp because of screen tearing. Cant go Duviri of course. I think there would be great to get vsync option .

Turn the dynamic resolution setting to user and set it around 80. This fixed the tearing for me, but sadly not in duviri. And for months I've been told it's on my end. It's not and DE need to fix it, because I still can't play duviri.

TLDR-Best way for temporary fix is setting dynamic resolution to User and resolution scale to 75%-80% (lower if lots of effects on screen or you have all visual effect on)

I believe the games internal resolution scaler is either not working or not harsh enough at times thus giving us ugly tearing.

I’m not sure if anyone has fully covered this yet so apologies if I’m repeating. Screen tearing is due to frame rate dropping below 60fps so anything you do that can help maintain the steady 60fps will then fix the tearing. On PC VSync fixes this issue by adjusting the output fps to the refresh of the display no matter the internal rendered fps which introduces input lag when frames drop

Fastest and most effect way to gain frame rate on console is adjusting the resolution since most effects we have access to are minimally taxing on PS5

I seen a video on YouTube and he changed his dynamic resolution and it fixed the problem just like you said. The problem hasn't been fixed for me in duviri but everywhere else it has. So finally I hope they can fix the problem now! Thanks for posting this temporary solution!!!

Can you please tell us which TV/monitor model you're using? Also, would you happen to have VRR enabled?

    To check VRR:

    1. Head to the PS5 Home.
    2. Select ”Settings” from the top-right or using the Game Bar.
    3. Choose “Screen and Video.”
    4. Select “Video Output.”
    5. Choose “VRR”

Do you have this set to "Automatic"? If you do, does disabling this improve the tearing?
If VRR is disabled, are you able to enable it? And does enabling it improve the tearing?

    Thanks!

Ok after going to duviri the tearing still happens but no where near as bad. So it seems it's definitely something to do with the dynamic resolution setting. I hope this helps get the problem fixed.

Hello I just wanted to let you know after nearly a year of having this problem I have fixed it! And it worked for all my friends. I believe the problem is something to do with the dynamic resolution setting. I set it to user/85 and it has completely fixed the tearing in all the areas I mentioned! I haven't tested it in duviri yet but hopefully it's fixed! I've also turned particles to the max and it's fine! So the issue is something to do with the dynamic resolution setting.

I have tried different tvs/monitors I have, it still happens. As an example I can be in MOT in the void and the game is fine, but go to orb valis and the fps drops a lot and the tearing starts. It's not on my end otherwise it would be happening everywhere. Another example I can be in my railjack and have tearing, leave my RJ and it's fine. Pls DE fix it.

Just a heads up, we've been monitoring the recent posts regarding screen-tearing on PS5, and we believe we may have a fix. While we can't guarantee the update will remove all screen-tearing from the game, it should help with some more noticeable cases.

You should have the fix once The Duviri Paradox is released, so if screen-tearing is still an issue after the next update, please let us know. Thanks!

Yea no change. I can't play the quest because tearing happens like all the other open worlds, same with my friends. I know it's not your fault but this has gone on for ages and it's still not fixed!

Thanks! I hope it does! It happens the most in the open worlds, in railjack, the zariman, the earth tile, khals camp and the orbiter at the camp and using aoe weapons to. The fps also drops quite a bit in these area's. Thanks for the heads up!

  15. The performance on ps4 is terrible now even on the pro even using a weapon causes stutters ive played thia game 5 to 6 years and now im nearly done i cant play with this bad fps and lag anymore when the game was so smooth

Warframe used to be one of my favorite games, but this year has seen my interest in it and its future updates steadily drop; as it becomes more searingly bright and agonizing to look at it in nearly every graphical aspect. The art team is genuinely talented, but the lovely designs of Frames, Weapons, creatures, and objects alike are being swallowed in a muddy cloud of sparks, fuzz, and flashing.

The majority of the other sources of eye fatigue under the present flashing, bubbling onslaught that the game has become are found in melee, and I'll detail them in that mega-thread; but we're here to talk about arrows. In order, we now have these lovely changes:

    A) A painfully bright, flash-bang grenade-like glow; a large part of which is a searing yellow-whiteness that doesn't even use energy color.

    RYY7gN1.jpglbiGxmP.jpg

    B) Further blinding blobs that shoot out from the main impact as the first shine fades away; still far, far, FAR too bright.

    FMxvRnd.jpg

    C) A twinkling cloud of fluff that is the latest in the game's mounting drain-clog of particle effects. NO MORE BUBBLES, STEVE. This does not look good or cinematic, it looks like a cloud of pollen or a lava monster's violent sneeze.

    cJ7qLK7.jpg

This is not even going into the fact that arrows now leave a thin, needle-y, laser-like flight trail that makes it hard to tell if you aimed correctly; while simultaneously no longer even telling you those are arrows in flight, because they look like Corpus projectiles

If a graphical change makes the game more painful to look at, it isn't a good one. The fact that Bow stats were improved is all the more a shame; since I can't use a bow anymore without it giving me convulsions with the constant flickering of the new and quite allegedly "better" arrow impacts. Bad enough that Yesterday's changes made all metallics look like matte plastic, now even my trusty arrows have been designed to make someone spontaneously develop inherited epilepsy from the sheer persistence of flashing and sparks. Enough is enough, please just revert this sort of over-done twinkling.

Hello m8 the update droped for ps4 the game looks terrible really saturated really bright blacks on my frames are now grey prime details look horrible my fashion is dead all my dojo decorations are now silver instead of gold this is not an improvment to the game the game looked great for me before the update ive played for 5 years bought every prime pack since nova p was released this change has stopped me playing the game gives me a headache now

  17. Alot of it ia the changes to the renderer and the metal work changes but i agree its horrible no matter what display settings i change it still looks horrible in my dojo all my decorations are now silver instead of gold and the orbitor looks really bright and shinny 5 years ive played warframe and never have i hated how it looks until now
