  1. I used to use puncture on my guns too, but after reading around a bit I decided it was worthless as of right now. Use multi shot instead if you can get it, takes up same amount of points I think, but its far more useful.

  2. Dont waste mod points putting on charge damage/charge speed.I'd put on fury, true steel, organ shatter, pressure point, and the armor piercing mod plus maybe a rank or two of the ice one to get through shields quicker. Crits as far as I know don't work with charge damage, so if you want to go charge use a heavy melee like scindo, gram etc etc. Zorens are beast on higher planets if you mod em right, but work best with Loki or Ash because of invisibility.

As for the pistols I'm rather fond of the Kraken, but I suppose it depends on what you're primary is. Might want to give bronco or ak furis/ ak viper a try on Ash since you can get in close

  3. People do not use the single target melee weapons because they are pretty underwhelming, especially the ones like jaw sword/plasma sword that drop as BP's from the ? Alerts. Really under powered which sucks cause some of the skins look really cool.

I personally feel that all the melee weapons should be able to at least hit the guy next to the one you're attacking if you're real close, especially the Cronus, but thats just me.

That being said, they (meaning single hitters like the skana/Cronus) exist as cheaper alternatives and work just fine on the lower levels.

  4. I personally feel that the rewards I get from the lower levels were far more useful then what I get from the 7 day rewards....Whats the point of taking the time to log in everday if all I will get is an ammo box I cannot even sell.

I like the idea of throwing in the booster packs, even if its just the lowest tier one. Throwing in off the wall stuff like a color palette or weapon skin couldn't hurt either. Anything will be better than some ammo boxes which really do feel like a low level reward.

  5. I've been using Hek since this update because all I found at first were shotgun mods lol very useful for grinding :D

Anyone know when PAX East finishes and the devs get back? )

PAX ends on Sunday I believe but don't quote me that xD

  6. The one big issue with the update is that any kind of progression is now solely based on luck. If you don't find the mods you need, you are stuck, no matter how much you level your gear. It's been said before and in other topics, but we need some passive improvements based on levels. Not much, just enough to allow a basic vertical power progression that isn't dependent solely on a bloody random numbers generator.

This is why people are complaining. RNG does not replace passive progression.

  7. I like the mod2.0 system. Once you get the idea it becomes apparent that it is way more robust than the previous iteration. But as the OP said shields and health are far too important to leave to chance as it will seriously hinder your progress.

I did like 5 runs on tolstoj and what i have to show for it is a 10% increase in armor.Someone else could have it way worse as it is a well known fact that the gods of RNG can be pretty cruel.

I really dig the suggestion as it not only allows you to progress it also gives a pretty tangible sense of your character's advancement.

I am actually fond of the new mod system as well, just not the obscene prices x_x I ran tolstoj once and got 3 mods (+25% stamina, +10% armor, +20% shotgun multishot) so yeah the whole RNG thing is not a good thing to replace level ups with xD

  8. I think the system hurts the veteran more than the newbies. Newbies don't have lv30 frames which are now as good as lv1 frame without any mods equipped.

Oh yes I agree. I should have mentioned that it did not feel good to burn two revivies doing a mission with level 15 enemies (I was using Loki + Braton Vandal + Kraken + Zorens all level 30)

  9. I was pretty excited to jump in and play today, so excited in fact that I almost went and finally bought founder's before actually playing any of the new content.

I am glad I waited to buy though because while this update did some pretty sweet things I really feel like the mod system as it is now was a bit of a step backwards. I will echo the comments of those above: This system really hurts new players and the passive level ups should be reimplemented in someway. The idea of giving frames/wepaons fixed stat increases as they level up would be acceptable provided it could be balanced right. It will be interesting to see how things play out as the week goes on :)

  10. The mini map is epic confusing at first since it doesn't show multiple floors very well. I too spent many times runnning frantically around a level searching for the objective marker only to find I had to go down a level xD. Stick with it though since all of the tilesets are still prety similar in layout so once you've ran through one area you've seen em all basically.

  11. Whats up guys? My name is Voltaire :) i got introduced to Warframe through a CoD4 clanmate and I fell in love with it overnight. I've been playing/lurking on the forums for about a month now, so I figure I might as well jump in before all of the Update 7 changes in case I need to report something.

Anyway I'm digging the community here so far, lots of great ideas floating around and it will be very cool to see how this game turns out!
