  1. Logged in just for this. Yeah, I think it's getting worse too. In the past week I've been migrated and dropped right at the end of Eidolon hunts, either right when we were about to kill it, or when heading back to Cetus. This is a huge demoralizer that turns the most fun part of the game (to me) into the most damaging. Just losing 20-40 minutes of effort and concentration because some jerkoff kid thinks its funny to desync and get the rest of the party dropped is making people put down the game. When it happens to me, I don't feel like playing again for a while...if it keeps happening, I don't see the reason to keep coming back at all.

  2. I think everyone complaining has this whole Riven Transmutation expectation wrong. We can all agree that the current Riven system is....less than perfect. But DE is not trying to FIX it with this transmutation update. Everyone thinks that it's supposed to make the whole system better...I think the scope of it is way more limited. I think DE is just trying to address a simple use-case of "I have a bunch of trash Rivens, I don't want to take the time to roll/sell/trade them, and they are taking up valuable space in my inventory". Their answer is to give you another chance to roll something valuable with them. Sure it's expensive, sure it's still completely at the mercy of RNG...but it's better than the current setup where you just dissolve the Rivens to free up space. People are freaking out because it's not what they want to fix everything. I'm looking at it another way - at least it gives us another option to do something with extra Rivens. The only thing I'd get pissed about is how the drop system will be set up with the new Eidolons. I would really hate it if I got one of these transmutation drops instead of an arcade drop. That is what would piss me off.

  3. Good points. It's a pretty solid skin compared to Volt or Ember Deluxe's recent...efforts. All in all, I'd say it's pretty good. The conquistador head/helmet is kind of funky especially when people loved her original one so much. And her body design is kind of bland. It's not bad, it's just not that memorable compared to the likes of Titania or Rhino.

  4. A lot of what people are asking for here is wrong. "We want a tool to vote-kick leechers" How do you prevent this from being abused, trolled? How do you make sure players don't kick someone who's buffing the team like Trinity even though they aren't really getting kills? Should some beginner kid who is just trying their best and playing poorly also quality for leeching?

DE has the answer (sort of). The real solution is an automated tool to detect user actions. DE's current implementation is insufficient though - since it's easy for smart leechers to just turn on some macros to run about and take programmed "random" shots based on random number generators. DE's current solution also punishes the players who should be standing still like a quaking Banshee.

What really needs to happen is that DE needs to invest some time and resources to build better leech detection tools. Maybe some machine learning logic to detect: (1) when players flag someone as a potential leech it adds permanent marks to their account which weigh against them. (2) whether the person is chatting with the rest of the team (3) what type of movements they are making - is their mouse looking around, are they just twirling in place or are they jumping/sliding/aiming and moving toward enemies (4) how much damage or buffs they are creating for the team. Etc. With Machine Learning weighing these detection mechanics against who players flag as leechers, DE could refine their detection algorithms to flag and punish leechers much more effectively. Using a model like this, they could actually react and improve their action to combat when people use more improved bots/macros to afk/leech.

...I'm not holding my breath though

  5. Whether it's a bug or not, I think this is fine. We already made our feedback clear on how we felt about lore being locked behind RNG. As it stands, I'll not be playing this at all and I think a lot of the community falls into the same bucket. I see this as a cool opportunity for people who didn't get the drops last time to have another shot, especially with the weapon rework.

At worst, this is just opening the sore wound of RNG gated lore.

  6. This could be amazing. There's so much DE could do with special armor/syndana effects. What if this Syndana has a starburst of metal spikes in the back, and whenever you double jump or slide, they light up and rotate in a pattern. What if you could adjust what lights/pattern you wanted to use in the appearance menu? What if the syndana added an effect where you had a shadow image that bled off your character like a continuous waterfall of light?

  7. Just now, (Xbox One)Dova Seniorious said:

From your point of view which weapon category do you believe are 'suffering' in greater ways.

I am curious to hear from someone else's perspective as I have much more enjoyment from one-handed swords over things like polearms. (That's just my preference though)

Off the top of my head? Dual daggers, scythes, blade & whips, claws, fist weapons, nunchakus all seem like they are in sore need of help. And I say this mainly from the fact that it's so rare to see someone using one of these (seriously use them in harder missions like Sortie3, not just for fun).

I still use my Broken War with some frequency, so while the category as a whole needs help, it's at least somewhat in the meta. I also see people running around with their tricked out Nikana Primes, and Zaws.

As the OP said, single swords could use "a little love", but a lot of other weapons need a Lot of love, and it's a zero-sum game. DE only has a limited amount of manpower to dedicate to these efforts, they really need to have the priority straight of fixing the worst-off stuff first.

  8. Uhh, a stand-alone card game could be cool. But The prospect of a tie-in with the main game scares me. That road leads straight down into the lootbox territory of EA. What if there were exclusive weapons, frames, or cosmetics that were locked behind super rare cards that you could only get through buying booster packs? Nah, if they had a card game, I think it would need to be stand-alone.

  9. I think they missed an opportunity. The Mirage theme has a courtesan feel to it, maybe from medieval Italy or Arabia. This syndana could have been a much lighter affair, like translucent fabrics that shimmer and catch the light. This one would have made much more sense to have been packaged with the Volt Proto, or maybe Chroma Prime.

  10. I think all players should start running with sparring melee weapons (like Prisma Obex). That way when Stalker appears, you have 4 warframes just circling him as he makes his intro, and then just unleash a holy firestorm of fists as soon as Stalker attacks. Just turn it into an embarrassing Stalker face smashing.
