  1. I was playing the sortie mission today (08/30 Sortie 1 - Exterminate) and noticed that some of the barrels I was breaking were blowing up on me when they were clearly not explosive barrels... that is, until I started aiming at them to see the descriptive text.  The explosive barrels (all of them) were colored the same as the normal breakable barrels.  I have linked a screenshot from my steam account page to show you what I was seeing.

P.S. - I'm not sure if this bug report belongs here or not, so please move it as you see fit.  I wasn't sure what other info would be useful.  Let me know if there is any info you'd like that I can provide.

  2. I'm sorry that this is just another "me, too" post, but this exact issue is also affecting my game.  I have 43 rivens with a capacity of 42, currently, and no matter how I access the mods screen (orbiter station, menu system, or from the arsenal) my UI becomes unresponsive other than chat, and viewing the profiles of other people in chat.

The only things I can add is that I use Steam to launch the game.  I'm not sure if that has any bearing on the issue, but I thought I would add it in case.  I am curious whether everyone with this issue also uses Steam?

Edit:  Also, if you choose to purchase riven capacity, but exit the purchase details dialog, then you will also end up with the unresponsive Mods UI.

Oberon heals the lures so yea........

Why would it be a bad thing to have two healers on one team?  Since Oberon's and Khora's healing abilities aren't instantaneous it might be a good idea to have two healers, and Oberon has the added benefit of being able to protect against status.  Also, with Oberon (and Nidus, for that matter) you have to stand inside the area of effect, while Venari will follow you around while trying to heal you.

In any case, I just think it would be nice if Eidolon hunts weren't limited to 6 or 8 possible frame choices.

Edit:  Let me clarify myself in that I'm not talking about running a team whose sole purpose is getting in a maximum number of Hydrolyst captures per night.  This would be for the purpose of having something fun to do, and deciding that taking down a trio of Eidolons is what my squad would constitute as fun.  I find Khora to be a fun frame to play, while I just hate Oberon and Trinity is no fun when playing her against Eidolons (you can only use EV on the Voms if they are in their physical state, and I'm not sure what the story is for Link, but I've never seen it used on the plains at night so I don't know if it works with Voms... all assuming you can find a Vomvalyst to save your life).  Maybe Khora would be no different, but maybe her 2 could ensnare a Vomvalyst and keep it in place while you position your lure before popping it.  Maybe her StrangleDome could grab Voms until they pop, which would be perfect against the Eidolons' use of the physical Vomvalysts for recharging their shields.  It would make sense to put her in charge of the Adarza Kavat to give the team the crit buff everyone uses for taking out Synovia and for the final shot.  Heck, just as a different frame to play when hunting Eidolon for a change...

Honestly, you can play any frame in the game when hunting Eidolons as long as one of the frames is Trinity or Oberon.  It would be nice if we could expand that by one more frame.

  4. Howdy!

As soon as night fell on Cetus after I saw the Khora changes, I ran Khora and Venari out on the plains to see if I could finally add another frame to the lure healer position in my Eidolon hunt squad.  Sadly, while Venari will most certainly target the lures in heal mode, it treats them as enemies and attacks them!  First, I was surprised she was able to target enemies for attack in heal mode, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing that Venari could be used for single tactical attacks when the default precept is heal.  I just think it's odd that Venari would classify the lure as an enemy when marking it classifies it as an ally.

It is possible that I just saw something and misunderstood it, but what I observed was Venari performing a slash attack, hearing the slash attack sound effect, and the lure having a small chunk of its shield bar disappear.  Maybe Venari attacked a Vomvalyst that simultaneously shot the lure?  In any case, this could use more investigation, but I didn't have time to test it further.

If Venari isn't capable of healing lures, I really hope that this could be changed in the future.  I'm really disappointed that you are required to have a Trinity with you if you want to hunt anything more than the Teralyst, so if Khora's Venari would go from frame to lure and back to keep everyone and everything healed, we could escape the Tridolon hunt "Meta" with one more frame.  Wouldn't it be awesome to see an Octavia/Khora/Oberon/Rhino Eidolon team instead of Chroma/Trinity/Harrow/Volt?

The better question is: if this IS a bug, do we really want it fixed? I sort of like the idea of my sentinels doing more than just hovering in the spotlight.

Yeah, I actually think it's pretty cool, too.  I'm kinda hoping it's just some sort of little surprise added to the game without a mention being made in the changelogs.  It started happening after one of the last couple of updates to 22.9 (at least, that's when I first noticed it).

If it is a bug, maybe it should be left in, but re-coded so that it behaves more predictably and some lore should be created to explain why the Sentinels would act in a way that is uncharacteristic of an AI.  Maybe Khora's presence is affecting companion AI in some way?  :D

  6. Hi!

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it is some new intended behavior, but twice, now, I have seen something quickly whiz by my face, and upon investigation I have found my Carrier Prime moving about my orbiter in the same way I would expect a Kavat or Kubrow to.  It will follow me at times, and at other times head into my personal quarters and chill in the pet bed:

    C52DF751C5EE9D98C406EDA759757DF9637625C4561079BF3CCDC5AAB1860D7D53DC0D89CEDB7F1A

Sorry for the blurriness of the images... I guess I should turn off motion blur if I see this happen again.

I do not know if this is reproducible.  The first time it happened I had just changed from my Kavat to my Carrier Prime as the equipped companion for the frame I was using (in this case, Equinox).  The second time it happened I had just finished a Defection mission with Trinity Prime, and I had had my Carrier Prime equipped as her companion as I generally do.

Still no one else has realised when this thread died...

So am I supposed to start a new thread, rehashing all of the things said previously in this one, or am I supposed to sit quietly in the corner with my mouth shut so that DE never hears what their community cares about until I just decide the game is "meh" and move on to something else?  DE seems to actually at least take things their community brings up into consideration, even if they don't give them what they want every time.  I take this to mean that I should contribute my thoughts rather than just "Sit down; Shut up."  Rather than starting a new thread to clutter up the forum database and make it seem like I'm the only person who cares about the issue, I figured it would be better to post in an old thread.  People would scream at me for "not searching the forums" if I has started a new thread anyway.

Now, back to the issue:  I've been playing Kuva missions using my Smeeta since I last posted for research purposes, and I can manage to get the 120s resource boost buff once every two or three missions.  Unfortunately, I have to play solo, because no one cares if I get the buff if they aren't also getting it.  I also found that I was spending two to three times as long trying to complete the mission with the buff compared to just speedrunning it with pubbers, because the times when I don't get the buff can take forever as I wait for the last Kuva collection before giving up.  I only got the resource boost right as I found the Kuva collector on one occasion, which gave me just enough time to destroy all four braids.  This basically makes the Smeeta worthless as a Kuva booster, because I could have just run two or three times as many of the missions.

In the future, I'll still bring the Smeeta along for the ride, but only because I am not playing those missions with the expectation of picking up any resources, and I am extremely unlikely to run out of ammo if I am just blazing through.  I just hold out hope that I'll be lucky and my Kavat will do something useful... Sadly, RNGesus isn't very friendly toward me, so I'm not holding my breath.  The only other mission type to which I bring my Smeeta is Orokin Derelict Survival since I only use my melee weapon, leaving everything nearby (although, I do pull out my Tigris Prime to clear the instant reload buff if I get it, since it at least seems to block other buff types from occuring for quite a long period of time).  In any other type of mission I actually have to worry about picking up loot or converting unused ammo drops into something I need, so I can't bring my Kavat along to be basically nothing more than a bystander.  If I'm not worried about ammo, I bring Helios Prime to try to get in any scans that I haven't completed, yet.

This is all very sad, since my most recent Smeeta is absolutely beautiful with his default colors, long tufted ears, and leaf tail.  If practicality wasn't a concern, I'd bring him along for every mission just to look good while I killed stuff.

  8. The reason most people choose a Vacuum + Ammo Case Carrier [Prime] over a Smeeta Kavat is because most people have complete trash luck.  My luck is absolutely horrific, so having a "Luck Cat" basically means that my resource boost Charm will only activate during the last 5 seconds of a mission I am playing on Mars, or I'll get the Damage Drop + Overshield Charm on Hydron right when 10 Lancers come around the corner spraying bullets at me and my teammates so that no matter what I do, I take those all-important 10 damage from that one unavoidable bullet to my full shields and health (It can't happen when a teammate walks in front of me right when I fire my Lenz or throw one of the Plague Star Exodia Contagion arcane's projectile attacks).

For those of you who live a Charmed life (yeah, corny puns are corny), even if only in-game, the Smeeta must be the most amazing companion for which you could ask.  For people like me, we can only improve our game by relying on the guaranteed effects of sentinels, pets, weapons, and warframe abilities and the mods used to improve them.  We are the people for whom it took three months worth of farming to get the blueprint for Octavia's Systems (yeah, on and off, because I can't spend much more than three hours at a time beating my head into a desk), the people who still don't have Harrow's Systems blueprint because saving 400 squads of Kavor isn't enough, yet...  I PAID for Ivara, because I knew that never had any chance of happening (I actually did get two Ivara blueprints on two consecutive missions 3 months after buying her, but I still haven't ever seen any of her component blueprints... I can only assume that someone else in my squad had good enough luck to cancel mine out, not that I needed those BPs anymore).

  9. I don't understand how pople can even manage more than 50k focus in a day.  If I played all day long, I might hit 50k.  I can't imagine what it takes to go up against 40 waves of lvl 100 enemies, but I don't have the money to buy those mods.  I doubt I would be able to just survive three people doing a sortie while I tagged along.

Edit: actually, I guess these people have been farming focus since focus 1.0 started, so they already have four or five trees maxed.  I'll have to play the game for the next two years farming focus the newb way until I can fill out one tree.

This might also be true.  We were both using Carrier Prime, mainly for the mod that turns any ammo you don't need into ammo for the weapons that need it.

  11. Single-use blueprints for consumable items is my single biggest pet peeve in this game.  Having to craft 10 fieldrons to craft the Lenz, for instance, takes what? 120 hours?  240?  It means that after having your clan grind for the research components, wait three days for that to finish, then go back to the ship to craft another ten 12- to 24-hour components, then waiting the 12 to 24 hours the weapon itself takes is just stupid.  If you dont want people to use it, just remove it from the game.  As it stands, I just do every single Invasion event that offers Fieldrons, Detonite Injectors, or Mutagen Masses, because crafting them simply isn't worth the time or resources.

I really wish there was a way to craft those ten fieldrons all at the same time if I have the necessary materials.  Why can I simultaneously craft six warframes and five weapons, plus a forma and Orokin catalyst, but I can't craft two ciphers at the same time?

I understand why they chose to make Archwing a limited resource on the plains.  Just murdering the world from the sky as Titania in Razorwing mode, modded for highest possible strength and efficiency, makes the hardest parts of the plains during the day a breeze.  The fact that you only need a few dead Grineer worth of energy every once in a while might convince me to just make Titania my "PlainsFrame" and would let me forget about that short bit of  fishgrind.

That said, though, I'll be building Archwing charges.  Fishing is dead simple.  I haven't even bothered to buy bait or dye, and I can walk with as many fish as I feel like stabbing.  Maybe there's a trick to it that I picked up without realizing it?  To me fishing is the fastest way of farming for Cetus standing, because the missions give you a hundred or so in three or more segments that force you to do at least five minutes worth of bulletjumpsliding, not including the mission objectives.  In that time I can catch 400+ standing worth of fish.  Mining gems is a complete joke, because they are worth less than the fur my Kubrow clogs the landing craft rebreather units with.

    Pro Tips:

1 - If you are having a hard time seeing the fish, try fishing in the "ocean" (that is, go to the edge of the map to the right when exiting the gate from Cetus).  The water is as clear as glass down there, and you don't have clumps of leaves blocking huge portions of the water's surface.

2 - If you have it in your head that quality is more important than quantity, then you will probably need something to make the fish visible at night.  Some of the fish have glowing spots, but I'm not sure if the lungfish is one of them.  If it isn't just fish at the ocean during the day and haul in as many as you can find.

3 - When you get your standing rewards, choose the next available fishing spear.  My guess is that you don't even see the fish your spear is incapable of catching, so if you want to bring in the costlier fish, choose the better spear.  If you can bring in the good fish, you can eventually probably get mining gear that isn't complete trash (assuming such a thing exists?).

  12. I had a really nice player teach me how to get around the Lephantis Infested Corpus head bug today after venting a bit in Region Chat.  We both used Valkyr (Prime) to take it out, because her Hysteria gives you the ability to heal while it's running.  The basic gist of the technique is to take a weapon that will do good damage to Lephantis without, and this is key, WITHOUT ever using Aim Weapon.  For most people, "Aim Weapon" is the right/second mouse button (the default key in the Key Binding options for right-handed people).

We both went in as Valkyr Prime using Hysteria builds (basically maximizing Ability Efficiency and Duration) with good automatic weapons (I'm not sure what he was using, but I took in the Attica with a Corrosion status build with the Terminal Velocity mod because it if accurate at medium range and has good ammo efficiency.  My second choice would have been my Braton Prime because I don't really have any other automatic weapons.  I had originally been using the Opticor, but it is really hard to aim without zooming in with the Aim Weapon feature, causing me to miss when the weapon fires as it reaches full charge.)  I also took in Carrier Prime with the Vacuum and Ammo Case mods so that I could easily pick up ammo drops on the run and have them automatically coverted to the type of ammo my weapons are using (ammo is pretty sparse in the arena with Lephantis).

We focused mainly on the Infested Corpus head, but didn't avoid shooting at the other heads as is suggested in some Lephantis walk-throughs.  We ended up taking out the Ancient Infested head first, but this didn't trigger the bug.  The Corpus head got killed next, and the Grineer head died very shortly thereafter.  In the second stage, we continued to fight without using the Aim Weapon feature, and ended up killing the Infested Ancient and Grineer heads first, but like the first stage we were still able to kill the Infested Corpus head because it didn't bug out.

All I can say is "THANK YOU!" to the helpful player from Region Chat who helped me finally take out Lephantis, and I hope this helps everyone else who reads this thread.

It happens to me. It's the 7th time I try to defeat Lephantis and its head doesn't open.

Same.  I can't farm matugen samples because I can't get to Eris.  Not unless I spend huge amounts of resources making Orokin Derelict keys and hoping the RNG drops loads of them in exchange (BTW, I have no such luck in this game.  RNGesus tells me on a daily basis that the only way to get ahead is to pay for platinum).  This makes the Lenz ridiculously expensive (since I seem to be the only person left in my clan who shows up anymore... don't really want to leave the clan until I can get the Lenz BP, though, because I don't know how far along any clan I might join would be.... and chances are I would start my own and have to research everything from scratch).

I think DE should either remove Lephantis from the Eris junction prerequisites, or give anyone who reports trouble with this bug a free kill so they can advance.  I'm just lucky I could get Nekros Prime.  I would be ready to just drop the game if I was being blocked from having a shot at playing one of the frames (though, it turns out I'm not a big fan of Nekros after playing as him a bit).

I've killed Lephantis seven or eight times, now, except for one head.  I should be allowed to pass the Pluto->Eris junction.  Otherwise, after Kuva Fortress the game is over for me.

Edit:  Nine times.  This time I flew solo and the Corpus head never opened its mouth or attacked a single time.  It just kept popping up, staring at me, and then slinking back down while the other two tried to kill me.  I eventually got bored and killed the other two, but the Corpus head still never opened its mouth or tried to attack.  I didn't even get to go to stage 2 this time.  I was just playing a rigged game of whack-a-mole while a seething hatred of the game rose in my chest.

  14. It's always possible that some internal dev version of the game (maybe when Archwings were first being tested in or added to the game) had archwings that only supported two abilities.  They then would have added two more abilities, and the old ones were just left to sit.  It might sound sloppy, but most of the bugs I find in scripts of mine are sections of code that were older than the rest of the code in which they were implemented.  You tend to come up with amazing, new ideas as you test out a proof-of-concept, which you add to the program/script, and you accidentally leave in the old "dev code" that *should* function the same, but doesn't... all because you had added the slick new features for the extra two abilities when you were coding them, but never went back to add them to the original two abilities.

This is just my guess from personal experience.  It could be something completely different, and we'll probably never know what really caused it.  That curiosity, though... it throws possibilities at me and makes me wish I could take a peek behind the code.  :)

    Edit:

I'm not much of a Tweeter, nor would I have any idea how to or whom at which to twit.  I was kinda hoping they poked a head in on this forum every once in a while and might see it.  If there is a more appropriate place to submit a bug report, I would be willing to give that a shot, too.

  15. OK, so after creating a (another!) separate mouse button profile that took into account the default settings for Ability 1, 2, 3, and 4, all four Archwing abilities are now functioning as expected.  Now that this is "fixed", I guess I don't have to care anymore, but I still consider this to be a bug that should be looked into.  It seems that somewhere in the codebase abilities 1 and 2 for the Archwing are hardcoded to the "1" and "2" keys, even though the third and fourth abilities are not, nor are any of the Warframe abilities.  I often see this in other games; such as Left 4 Dead, which allowed you to set and properly use the "Use" key for everything in the game EXCEPT for one level with a mounted machine gun.  If you had set the "Use" function to any key other than the default, it wasn't possible to use that mounted machine gun, even though it would pop up the tool tip telling you to press whatever key you had assigned to the "Use" function.

For the sake of accessibility, I hope that someone will take a look at this and find a way to fix it.

  16. Hi,

For some reason, I have never been able to get abilities 1 or 2 of any archwing to activate, while abilities 3 and 4 both do.  I have tried this with both the Odonata and the Itzal archwings.  I can't remember my Odonata archwing's rank, but the Itzal is currently 28, and I have tested each ability at this rank.  I made sure to gather the full 344 (max) energy available before trying any abilities, then attempted ability 1 first, with no energy drain, animation, nor effect, then went on to attempt ability 2 with the same results.  I activated ability 3, making sure that enemies were nearby, and they were destroyed, with energy being used.  Ability 4 does create the attack drones and takes the energy it is supposed to.

All four abilities are often used in non-archwing missions and they all function as expected, so the keybinds are actually functional/set to keys.  The only problem I can imagine is that I have to rebind almost all the keys for most games I play, so abilities 1 and 2 are bound to ',' and '.', respectively, with abilities 3 and 4 bound to 'k' and 'o'.**  Keys 1, 2, 3, and 4 are now bound to Utilities 1, 2, 3, and 4 (and the same goes on through Utility 8).

This has been driving me mad, lately, as I try to become a better archwing pilot.  Hopefully someone can figure out why this is happening.  Generally when I have trouble like this with a game, it is because the keys for those specific functions have been hardcoded into the game, even though they offer rebind support in the settings.  I will try setting the ability keys back to their defaults to see if that fixes the problem, but if it does, that means I have to create another keybind profile for my mouse.

    Thanks!

** I have a left radial nerve injury, so the majority of my keybinds are actually taken care of by my mouse (Roccat Nyth, an MMORPG-style gaming mouse with a reconfigurable set of buttons on the side).  The mouse is configured to send keyboard keypresses for those buttons, and I reconfigure the game to match those keys.  I have a custom-built arcade-style joystick-and-buttons controller to handle some of the most common FPS-style gaming keys (WASD, R, space, ctrl, Q, H, V), supplemented by the mouse.  This way I only very rarely have to reach for the keyboard.
