  1. I've been assuming someone will notice and fix this for ages.

The two ribbons hanging from Trinity's Strega helm used to have a kink in them, causing them not to hang straight down, but out to the side as if partially suspended by invisible wires attached to their midpoint. When the big cloth physics update was applied, this was overwritten with default cloth physics.

I'm suspect the node originally used for this is still there, because there's something subtly wrong with the current hang at about that point?

  2. there are a ton of syndicate mods that come with their own costs already built in - they improve something and make something else worse to balance it out.

Why are these rated the same as straight upgrades (1 mod slot, 9 polarity)?

For that matter, how is Infiltrate as valuable as Concentrated Arrow? How is Concentrated Arrow as valuable as Irradiating Disarm?

It's pretty difficult to balance augments against each other because that's the nature of the beast - they're qualitative changes not quantitative ones. That means that at the moment the augment system is a static one; there's no choice involved, and no comparison is sensible. Each augment is its own specific thing that has its own considerations. Infiltrate is almost never worth the mod slot, Irradiating Disarm almost always is, and the only thing that changes that is the specific content you're doing, and even then rarely by much.

I don't think a new mod slot is necessarily the thing to do, because that's too far in the other direction - because then it would become a choice between augments, with no consideration of whether your frame needs an augment, because leaving the slot empty would never be better. This adds ANOTHER barrier between newbies starting and finally having a proficient kit (since syndicate rank and rep locks off these augments), and it also kinda clutters up the mod screen.

But I don't think the current situation works as a balance point, because actual development time went into Infiltrate just as much as it did into Irradiating Disarm and they cost the same and we're gonna keep seeing more augments that will never ever get used and waste everybody's time and syndicate rep and act as trap options for newbies who continue to not realise that Calm and Frenzy is much less usable than it sounds.

  3. Her 2 is the best piece of her kit.

Note that it does not disrupt other actions, allowing you to lob it willy-nilly when reloading. It's effective CC, something her kit lacks when you aren't spamming Tornado and which is much, much more reliable than Tornado, does decent damage against swarming threats like Infested maggots, makes it pretty easy to target the enemies CCed with weaponry afterwards, costs almost no energy so can be fired a lot, etc.

Scaling from melee mods is a bad idea because it breaks at least three precedents of the game. Firstly, abilities don't scale from mods unless they're exalted weapons. Second, exalted weapons don't even scale from mods like that any more, because it caused a ton of problems. Thirdly, condition overload wouldn't be a mod that would pass to an exalted weapon under the old system.

As a bonus, adding 120% damage to Air Burst won't actually make the damage scale much, melee weapons get 100% of their scaling from the combo counter, meaning that Air Burst will just have the same problems offset by +20 enemy levels.

You're absolutely right about Tail Wind.

  4. Most importantly and I think shockingly obviously - She's a Hunhow-level Sentient, armed with variously: the secret of the Tenno; the precise location of every Tenno and their current objective; an army of Sentient drones; and an upgraded version of the greatest Orokin Executor ever; yet she chose to leave and leave us alone afterwards rather than murder us and all the other Tenno. She even took a twisted revenge on Ballas.

  5. As of now my account name on Switch is my Operator's name. Easy enough to retcon in but I doubt DarkSeker1038 has such a straightforward option on the PC.

So may I suggest a linguistic solution: clearly, the Orokin era is long after ours, giving us the strong possibility that terms we know and use today will have changed in meaning and use. Given how prevalent the internet is in our era, and how the Orokin technology clearly continues this trend of highly-advanced computing such as with the Cephalons, it's likely that a lot of internet speech and slang survived.

Therefore, I propose that we as a community adopt an in-character policy that DarkSeker1038 is now a name of legend and imbued with deep significance thanks to its historical import - after all, the annals tell of the great DarkSeker1038, a general in the Old War, and let us not forget the Order of the Dark Sekers, a short-lived and now sadly-deceased Tenno organisation devoted to hunting the Stalker (he objected).

    You confuse diegesis and mimesis.

In the proper (diegetic) story, a single Tenno came to Fortuna and, after doing a couple of missions for Thursby and Eudico (who, both of them, had never met a Tenno before), Thursby gets repossessed while the single Tenno is out. After Eudico resurrects SU, over time, thousands of Tenno flock to Fortuna.

In the in-game, experienced, mimetic version of the story, there's a thousand Tenno talking to Thursby simultaneously, there's a thousand Tenno talking to Eudico, and Eudico still acts like you're the first Tenno she ever met.

The contraposition between diegesis and mimesis, however, is a very interesting topic.

thanks for a very serious and interesting answer hahah

  7. maybe not the most important bug but when the cloth physics were updated, the Strega Trinity Skin's head-ribbons lost their cool anti-grav kink and just became straight hanging ribbons. Was probably a bit optimistic of me to hope someone would notice and fix it.

  8. Controversial opinion: Ivara's ultimate is not an ultimate, it's a weapon so you can bring a weirdo impractical primary like idk the Ogris and not suffer for it. It's cheap enough and workable in ordinary gameplay to be used instead of your primary weapon, which is totally not the role that ultimates usually fill but maybe has a niche?

I've been carrying a sniper rifle and a Tysis, neither of which is workable for crowds of infested or even mobs of Grineer. But the Artemis Bow is doing just fine against both. None of this is in T4s or whatever, but it seems plenty strong enough to handle most planets as a primary weapon.

EDIT: if you are a better shot than me, you can probably make a sniper rifle work against crowds of Grineer. i am not a good shot.

  9. For those saying they are 'hard' to kill have not tried the following:

use a nyx. conculysts and battlyst ARE effected by mind control. Use mind control on 1 (since 2 usually spawn at once) then let them fight it out until mind controls duration runs out. At this point, both will usually be around half health unless you have the mind control augment on, which in that case one will be almost dead and the other (the one you mind controlled) should be around half health.

Step 2: You have a well modded excalibur with exalted blade build on your squad and he finishes both of them off in just a few swings.

Been dropping them like flies with this excal, nyx combo....

Actually I just didn't consider "stop using all but two frames that you might not even have, and also if we pretend Shadow Stalker doesn't exist" to be a "solution" worth discussing.

  10. To the people saying they should be dangerous:

Here's the problem with that notion.

Hi! My name is Ivara, and I can't be killed by Sentients. Two spawned at the very start of the mission and I STILL had enough energy to keep Prowl on the whole time. Earlier Shadow Stalker showed up and I just shot cloak arrows at the ground so he couldn't see me.

They are NOT dangerous. They are TEDIOUS or LETHAL, depending on your abilities, and neither is a fun fight.

Note: Shadow Stalker adapted to all of my weapons. Corrosive, viral, heat, and physical (sentinel, melee, secondary, primary, respectively). By the end of it I just dropped the cloak and let him kill me because I couldn't do more than 2 damage a shot to his shields.

  11. People who keep saying "Saryn is supposed to be a melee frame, and does not have the survivability for it":

you are making an if statement - "if saryn is intended to be a melee frame" - and a then statement - "then she needs more durability".

has it occurred to you that DE might not be ignoring you, but rather rejecting the premise that you are basing your conclusion on, the if part of that statement?
