  1. It seems DE has thought about this before - that's why we have 1x and 10x Cipher (as well as 1x and 10x Squad consumables). If I'd to speculate I'd say it's due to a limitation in their GUI design. I often have my phone with the Warframe mobile app beside me (even when playing the PC game), and use it to kick off items in the Foundry or sort out Extractors - I find the mobile app's Extractor display more informative when picking a planet to deploy.

  2. I'm fortunate that the challenges were registered when I checked my Wolf progress for the 40-wave and the Index. FWIW perhaps this might be helpful if anyone wants to try again to see if these factors might be significant:

    • I was host. I will check with my clan mates later to see if they also properly registered the completions.
    • Pre-made group. Three clan-mates plus one random public member one of us made our friend. In other words, everyone in the group was either in the same clan or a friend.

We did the Index first (even messed up up our first try) then a 40-wave (also happened to be a Lith fissure).

  3. As an intermediate player (nearly 400 hours since November 2018), a lot of what you're asking were the same questions I had, and my progression is still fresh in my memory.

The core mods to get are nicely summarized here. They're the backbone that will lift up all your frames and weapons. Slowly work towards maximizing them especially to 3/3 and 5/5, but endo cost will mean you'll stay at 8/10 for a while. Get Primed mods from Baro when you can.

Get all the frames and weapons you can along your journey. If you find a particular one you like, try to get the Prime version (if it exists), Orokinize and Forma it till you can fit all the core mods. Kitguns and Zaws also let you customize what are essentially top tier weapons. Though later with a good Riven just about any weapon can be top tier. I like and use the Amprex and Arca Plasmor a lot. Try everything and if something doesn't make you grin and go mmm...mmmm, just try something else.

After the core mods, here are the end game mods you slowly want to acquire.

Here is my view of game progression:

    • Early game. Clearing star chart. Some core mods. Hydron for leveling frames and weapons. Get Rhino. Do low level Index for credits (with Rhino). Get relics and do fissures from time to time to amass parts/blueprints to first build gear, then retain duplicates to trade for Ducats so you can buy Primed mods from Baro... you will do this throughout the game till you get everything you want from him.
    • Mid game. Cleared star chart. Own most core mods, close to maxing them. Nekros to help farm resources. Slowly start acquiring end game mods. Should be able to do most arbitrations (non-endurance), sorties (make sure to configure weapons accordingly, and use appropriate frames). If you like your Operator consider developing your amp.
      • MR15 unlocks everything except some Rivens - good target to aim for so you can build anything you want.
    • End game. This is where the game really begins. Maxed core mods, several end game mods. You have a few favourite frames, weapons that cover different situations, and can min-max builds for some of them. Able to do long-running/endurance arbitrations/ESOs. Farm Toroids. With a half decent Op amp you can do Eidolons. Stomp Profit Taker.
      • High level enemy scaling in endurance runs have so much health that raw damage isn't good enough - you'll need to take advantage of status effects (corrosive, viral) and abilities that do percentage of health in damage. They can also do so much damage that you can't simply tank the damage without some special ability.
      • Syndicates. Pick 2-3 Syndicates that work with one another, and matches the frames you like best.

Links about mods from above are from BlackOps Clan - I found their Web resources invaluable getting to the end game, and ended up joining them.

  4. There are kinks to work out as they roll out the new system - I find my Valkyr "stuck" unable to attack in some situations when I switch out of Hysteria, until I do a weapon switch. Nevertheless I'm still looking forward to see how it all pans out.

Anyone out there a fan of the movie, Equilibrium? I loved their concept of the Gun Kata, i.e. combos interleaving gun and melee attacks. So I'm looking forward to see what DE does - a system where you can combine both your currently equipped ranged weapon with melee attacks, seamlessly switching between them sounds very appealing to me. Even better if you were rewarded by timing your attacks (ala Witcher) as opposed to just spamming your ranged/melee attacks, resulting in cool combos that vary depending on your equipped weapons (and their stances). System should be easy to understand and pull off but hard to master.

  5. Yes, I also had some issues and I suspect they're somehow associated with the mission voting selector that appears on top, perhaps in combination with matchmaking. However, when I host with a full team and enter Vallis via the gate from Fortuna (in effect bypassing the mission vote selector and matchmaking), neither I or my team had any problems loading.

  6. This video shows both Pencha and Shraksun are capable of taking down the shields in about 6s so they seem comparable in terms of DPS:

I use a 213 - have not used Shraksun or Void Strike, and my performance is nowhere as fast as the video above, but I can nevertheless solo the Teralyst with it. However, where Pencha shines along with Shwaak are their combined flexibility in missions as your operator, which is the reason I picked the 213 as my first amp. Done a ton of solo Vault runs with it using my operator, allowing me to equip all the dragon keys - Pencha is awesome for taking out some of the tougher mobs at mid-range.

With vanilla energy management for the amp I will run dry if I spam Shwaak, whereas it is unlikely you'll run out of energy with Pencha.

... If there's an enemy on your way, go ahead and kill it, but never stop going for the orbs.  As soon as one spawns, you should be headed for it exclusively.

I'd also like to emphasize the importance of heading for the orbs (you need the extra time) while killing spawns along the way.

I used a tweaked Volt (higher efficiency and duration) where I could use his 2 (speed) to move + reload faster. I don't suggest increasing strength as the speed boost may be a bit too fast to control. Don't use abilities for killing because there aren't many enemies around and they go down easy - their casting time only slows you down.

    Other tips:

    • Wide angled shotguns with a good magazine size such as Arca Plasmor are ideal - use this to do all your killing.
    • Aside from Volt, faster frames such as Loki and Nova are also good choices, as are movement mods such as Rush, Mobility, Maglev.

    - Primary Frames/Load-outs/Specialties if any: None yet -  still in discovery phase, but have been using Trinity/Operator a lot more after discovering Eidolons.
    - Why do you want to join our clan? Because I like the recruitment ad. Found your clan website posts very helpful. Find a home where I can go on missions with a few regulars rather than random pubs. Goals? Explore and savor Warframe.
    - Tell Me a little about Yourself: Computer games as a kid got me into Computer Science. Now working as a software engineer almost twenty years later, I still love gaming. Had fun raiding in the past but do not want to devote that degree of commitment these days. Enjoys some PvP.
    - Tell Me a Joke! What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, I don't care.
