Looks like the bug is entity non-specific, as enemy units are displaying the same kind of behaviour:

Melee boosted into an object, appered to have brought my target with me. I couldn't get free, my target downed me, then another squad mate came and revived me. Killed the target, but both of us were stuck in or in close proximity to the object. Tried to escape for a couple minutes, then the other player left the mission and the game froze, requiring shut down through the Task Manager.

Just throwing my complaint on the pile. Same issue, controller mapping reset, won't allow power activation to be mapped to controller button.
