  1. Based on the way the game is designed, none of the items are more "powerful" than their counterparts, given that we have the Forma system. I'm a little annoyed, because I really wanted Ember Prime and Glaive Prime, but I can do without. Plus they're obtainable in the game, regardless.

The holidays are coming up, so who knows.

  2. I am relatively new, so maybe this has occured before, but has there previously been a weapon that was released, and then had its mastery rank increased later?  I would assume if they haven't dealt with this before it becomes more complicated than just raising the rank because the game might not know what to do with people that already have purchased/equiped it but don't meet the increased requirement.

Thats something that will be an issue the first time they do something like that, but if it has happened in the past they should already know how to deal with it...

It's been done, if I remember right. And, their system only affects the purchase of items and blueprints, rather than owning them already.

  3. Let's just hope that when Ex takes off his helmet he doesn't look like this.

    HzmuqZu.jpg

The voice actor for Force Unleashed is what they modeled the character after. Let's not pretend chiseled, short-haired men are completely non-existent.

Plus, not having hair helps the development side. Rather than do this crazy, Korean/Japanese hair texturing that uses extremely realistic, yet static hair, they develop the character and use other animations to fill in the "really awkward animations" gap. Hell, see the U10 livestream where scarves were addressed.

  4. I don't think items should be artificially gated by a low drop rate (And I'm the kind of A****** that gets to max at launch on MMOs, then spends days grinding for drops), but that the boss they drop from should be hard. They've had some steps in that direction, and I hope that they only make changes to pre-existing bosses. As for how they make the bosses harder? Well, that would take me sitting around thinking about it, or have a design team come in to draw it up.

  5. Honestly, I still want to push for a larger, raid scale mission, even if it requires dedicated server.* If it's a single planet, beyond say, Pluto, it's still extremely locked to newer players. Plus, they could try preventing the "Join friend, get unlock" system that they're currently using.

*Or go beyond that by pushing for a programmer to make the load be distributed off of several players, each handling a different set of AI or calculations in real-time. However, network tests have shown that only people playing with their Nokia phones next to Comrade Dog or dropping connections are having issues. In the end though, it's still more of a balancing/design issue, given the strength of 4 frames alone.

  6. You're right, as I said previously. Please, I don't want this to continue as a "Nova is OP" thread. That's not my intention and is a circular, pointless argument already raging in other threads. I just want to make her powers synergise more smoothly and give AM Drop a purpose.

I think AM drop should be a little more useful (Flight speed increase, mainly), but trying to turn a damage warframe into a crowd control is a big change. It's something that, as I pointed out and you agreed with, the other damage-based frames are just as capable of. In the end, it's down to who pressed 4 first.

  7. the helmet is the only thing that bothers me.

Either I deal with this dumb version,

Or the one that makes her look like a bird

I'm with you on that. Well, I guess the feet too. Seriously, I'm going with what people said before, she looks like a @(*()$ MLP character. Wide legs, flat feet, disproportionate, and snout on the original helmet. The alternative helmet isn't much better.

  8. oh come on. Nobody force you to use it! If you don't like it ,just don't use it

    (sorry for bad english)

Except for the fact that Nova's current helm and alternative, including its stat change, are garbage. And yes, that is both my opinion, and that of other vocal members of the community, at least in regards to the original helm.

  9. I would definitely approve of this idea, but I would also limit the amount of crystallized mods usable in one item (Granted that may make things a bit cookie cutter, go Serration or go home). The problem with this would be that using these would make things beyond powerful, imagine a max serration crystallized, it would be a heck of a ton of damage.

Another idea would be to add crystallized slots on gear, so for instance, you can add the slots to your weapons and warframes at the cost of some of the Orokinchalcum, and that slot is open to crystallized mods. This would mean further progression is required (Which I would love personally) and would stop people from instantly putting insanely powerful mods on new weapons. That also adds more risk/reward to the idea, since that would then mean players will have to think "Well, this serration is maxed, if I crystallize it, I can use it in this gun I added a slot to. But I cant use it to level new gear".

Aside from that though, I do love the idea and it would really provide some more "End Game" content to go for (And would open up possible Tier 4 void missions of epic insane powerful proportions).

The problem with that is, diminishing returns would effectively kill that Serration from being stronger, hence the reason people do 105% with their maxed elemental mods. Pushing it beyond that cap shows exactly the lack of a deeper understanding of the systems that would require the suggested lockout.

  10. I enjoy it, because it gave me a way to make up for the fact that I had already created a forma'd build, and I couldn't afford to put in the Nightmare mods that I wanted to use, because of my polarities.

But hey, this is the point of view from someone that already maxed a character with forma and wants to use the NM mods.

  11. The people that work on melee weapons are not the same people that work on fixes, lore, mission types, AI.

You know this, right? There are different departments and they all do their own work.

People have asked for all the recent weapons that have been release, cept the boomerang, for some time and have gotten a lot of people behind them. Sorry, but i haven't seen anything of the sort for the other weapons.  All i hear is people wanting more weapons instead of specifically throwing out detailed examples.

I think this thread is hilarious, since it is making fun of both DE and player perceptions. Thank you for it.

But, Mak has the right idea here. Who honestly thinks that these departments all do the same thing? I can see the "better weapon sounds" and "better animations argument" but that's nearly impossible, if players don't say what they want then it's pointless to argue. We have already seen what DE thought of, and it's what you're complaining about. Offer a suggestion that actually outlines what you want, then you might see something get done

Plus, who's to say that certain things aren't done because it requires the programmers or that it's an engine limitation that they're currently working on when it comes to certain features? It happens a lot with games, and with a more transparent developer team, sometimes you get insight as to why certain features aren't in place. With games like City of Heroes or The Secret World, the developers shot down the occasional idea that players pushed for due to an engine limitation. But suddenly a new hire, at least for CoH, came along and figured out a workaround for the previous issues. (See: Power Customization if you want the example of what I'm referring to.)

  12. They just released 'alpha' content into their 'beta' game.

I believe that the game follows a perpetual beta model. It will never "come out" of beta because they will continually be tinkering and adding new unpolished features.

Coudn't have said it in a better way.

It seems that every new content they add is either buggy as hell or "Unfinished" in some way.

I really have no idea what my definition of a "Completed Warframe" could be.

Really? What are the "unfinished" things they've added? There's a difference between adding and adjusting, mind you.

The only thing that really comes to mind for me is the Torid DoT that didn't seem to work as intended at release..

  13. Had the same issues, Steam just won't let me sign in.

Looks like Steam just cost you guys $100 from me, unless it's resolved before this 50% coupon expires.

Edit: But thanks for looking into it. I don't want to sound like an &#!, and I would hope you'd give us, and any one else affected, the chance to use these coupons again.

As far as I can tell, Steam just won't let me login if it attempts to redirect to their checkout, since I tried logging in without the additional URL information to redirect me back to the site.

  14. @Lactamid

Good point on that. I thought that I had gone through a T3 raid in the past but can not be completely sure about that point.

That's because it doesn't exist. The only way it did previously was if T3 Exterminate bugged and became a Raid. Read through the recent hotfixes, and I believe 8.1.2 addressed it.
