  1. I feel like passive augments is not a good idea. Ability augments are only buffing an ability that needs to be managed and sustained; while ability augments would be active no matter what.

Passive augments would make it so you need to have it or it'll be ignored. For example, Equinox and Excalibur's passive augments would become essential while Frost and Chroma's passive augments would be ignored.

I understand some of this applies to Ability augs  but the problems would be exponentially bigger on passive augs.

I would rather have a passive rework that changed some outdated passives.

Yeah, the kit would have to be rebalanced a bit.  I'd just like to see your primary abilities using souls mostly, and your 4th uses a ton of energy while gathering souls.  It would be unique in that aspect at least.  Since all 4's usually use a lot of the resource.

I'm mostly just being silly, and throwing around pointless ideas.

As an idea, here's what I think would be neat (kinda did a rework on a concept lol).

Passive; any dead enemy will drop a soul within 200m has a 60% chance drop a soul and any souls with in 20m will be instantly absorbed (the 200m limit is to prevent lag) the more souls you have the more shields you get, .1% bonus shields per soul (affected by shield mods) with a cap of 500 (this warframe will have the highest shield count in the game. there is no warframe that's about buffing shield count so I think this would be neat)

1st ability; spirit trap, 25 drain. Conjure a cage with energy and charge it with up to 50 souls. Atona then can let the ability sit in a pouch. If Atona doesn't use this within 15 seconds her energy and souls are wasted. This ability does 50 slash uncharged but gains 5 per soul. Spirit trap gives Atona and her allies 200 and 20 shields per souls if hit.

2nd ability; offered hand, 3 drain/s. Doubles her pickup range for souls, and gives Atona a 2 soul/s.

3rd ability; spiritgaze, 5 souls/s, Atona CCs any enemy that she aims at and for 4 seconds after she looks away they' remain CCed. Any enemy that dies CCed give Atona a soul on top of the soul that they have a chance to drop.

4th ability; charity, 4 soul/s, 1 soul/s per ally. Atona sends her souls to assist her and her allies, 60% dr for allies 30% for Atona. and 100% shield increase and constant sheild rregeneration 30/s. Atona also grant's her allies 30% of the shield  bonus she get's from her souls.

I changed Atonas identity to be a much more active support/tank . And you'll  have to be in a constant state of combat to sustain Charity and spiritgaze. I absolutely love this warframes concept. You did a great job designing it.

  3. But the difference between Atona's gaurdian spirit ability & Harrow's covenant is that Atona's was just kinda Oberon's renewal  (being channeled) rather than covenant which is not a constant.

Also if Atona's 4 was changed and didn't cost souls it would've caused an imbalance in her kit because your 3 would be the only soul burner. And anyways, a bunch of souls defending you is a really interesting ability.

Warframe Concept: Atona the Penitent’s Guide

A guide to the dead. Atona offers redemption to those enemies fallen in battle.

Appearance: A cross between a nun's habit around the head and and armour reminiscent of a valkyrie elsewhere.

    Passive: Penitence

      Hide contents

Enemies that die in proximity to Atona have a chance to be bound in Penitence. Atona uses Penitent Souls as a resource for her abilities and has a limit of either 100 or 200 souls.

Atona is buoyed by the spirits that follow her and gains reduced shield regen delay and then buffed shield restore rate as she collects more souls. Shield regen can increase to 2x the normal rate of regen would be. This ability will grant overshields but only up to 50% of max overshields, the rest can be acquired through other means.

    1: Soulgaze (Timed Effect)

      Hide contents

Atona sees the soul of enemies in front of her. Enemies are forced to see the evil of their actions and are distracted, unable to move or attack while receiving a very low 0.5% true health damage. Ability affects ebemies in a cone in front of Atona not unlike Basilisk Gaze.

Enemies will continue to suffer from guilt after Atona looks away with this period affected by how long they were subjected to her direct stare.

Enemies that die while under Soulgaze have a 100% chance of being bound as penitent souls.

    2: Offered Hand (Channelled)

      Hide contents

Atona enters a state of serene tranquility and glows with spiritual light.

While tranquil, Atona attracts penitent souls to her and so gains souls at a steady rate (allowing you to offset the drain caused by her 3 and 4).

Enemies targeting Atona hesitate briefly for a second when aiming at her and suffer a small accuracy debuff.

Allies that go down within range of the ability are revived at 80% of the normal rate (so 6s) starting immediately even without someone currently reviving them. While reviving allies, the energy drain of Offered Hand increases by 20%

    3: Guardian Spirit (Toggle)

      Hide contents

While active, lose Penitent Spirits at a steady rate to grant Atona and her allies high Damage Resistance up to 95%

The drain on souls increases for every ally within range of this ability like Oberon’s Renewal and is affected by efficiency.

    4: Redemption (Toggle)

      Hide contents

Summons forth penitent spirits which latch onto and attack nearby enemies. One spirit is produced every few seconds and is viewed on the enemy as a debuff not unlike Nyx’s 3.

Spirits deal slash damage to enemies and may stagger them.

Spirits achieve redemption and dissipate if they kill an enemy. You lose a Penitent Spirit for every enemy killed with this ability but not if they are killed via other means.

If an enemy dies to something other than a Penitent spirit that spirit will move to another nearby enemy. If no enemy is nearby then the spirit returns to Atona as a Penitent Spirit.

Reactivate the ability to draw all spirits back to Atona, allowing her to house a number of spirits greater than her normal max capacity.

    .

This concept started off as a soul manipulating angel and finished as a sort of support/tank equivalent to Nidus with a theme not unlike Harrow's.

Passive. Atona's passive is very well balanced & a little unusual. The souls having a chance and proximity limitation is a little irritating. I feel like the souls are kind of like a pickup that spawns only for her (because of the her 2) a little clarification would be handy.

1st ability. I think this ability could be a little too strong :/. it's a timed effect so i'm guessing you can shoot while it's active which is nuts. while your looking at an enemy them getting CC'd is already op it lasting for a brief time after you look is a little much. I understand this ability has a cone but you can camp in a survival with this forever. max range would make this the best ability in the game. And on top of all this killed enemies give you a soul. 2 op lul

2nd ability. Being able to revive people faster could possibly be incredibly powerful but is overshadowed by her 3 and should be part of her 3 (and this ability should have another thing). Also attracting souls on top of gaining souls over time is very balanced.

3rd ability. Giving you and your allies 95% dmg resistance is really good and is possibly the best ability in her kit. Synergises well with shield benefit of souls. It better burn your souls quick. 2 op lul

4th ability. Why is Atonas 4 a map wipe with a similar affect to Wisp's 3 when you kill an enemy??? And why does this ability grant you the ability to gain more souls? Atonas 4 does fit with her kit but is to powerful. Or this ability would be a combo of Nyx 3 and Wisp's 3 (still a little broken because those abilities are arguably the best ability in their kits)2 op lul

Conclusion. Atonas a pretty good concept with too much power. 3 out of her 4 abilities can generate souls. This is incredibly broken. You can spam your 4th ability and rival Saryn whilst giving your team 95% dr & ccing every enemy you see. But Atona has a very unique design I like the idea of a paladin warframe (oberon)   9/2 op lul
