  1. Since the implementation of the new sorties award system I have only been given 2000 endo.

Today was the 5th day in a row. Something is broken here, everyone around me is getting riven mods and I only get 2000 endo.

Guys, this is not a simple issue. My progress in the game is blocked and I can do nothing about it.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

All these suggestions is basically telling people to abuse the system rather than improve normal game play gain.

So, for you, abusing system is doing the objectives and having a game-style?

You support that normal game play is Draco farm I assume?

I can earn 10k+ from 4 waves on Draco. I'm just using an Ember Prime and a weapon, both with greater lenses on. And yes, I didn't buy them, I just traded sortie sh*t for lenses.

What if I told you that you can make 30k focus and more in pre-made group with Excalibur?
But that is not the point. It must be easier gain and lower cap. Like 50k daily not as low as 10k daily.

Two percent (2%) of all Affinity earned should be converted to Focus without a Lens. Lenses should increase rate gains, NOT be mandatory in order to get them. This lets players choose continue to enjoy whatever weapons and frames their mood dictates.  <--- Awesome idea!

Any Affinity earned counts. NOT just Affinity from kills. <--- Awesome idea!

ALL Alert missions should offer +5% focus gain as additional bonuses to encourage running these otherwise mostly pointless missions. <--- Awesome idea!

Reviving should reward bonus focus. <--- Awesome idea!

Lenses should be craftable. Not everyone likes the fake difficulty of bullet sponge riddled Sorties. <--- Awesome idea!

Players should be able to perform a daily focus mission wherein all Affinity earned is granted as Focus. These missions should be non Endless and feature flavor relevant to a school of Focus or Lore. <--- Awesome idea!

Trick shots and style kills should grant an additional 5% focus. <--- Awesome idea!

Finding all loot caches should grant +1000 - 5,000 focus based on mission rank. <--- Awesome idea!

Stealth kills should award bonus focus <--- Awesome idea!

Let us play our way and still earn Focus. <--- Awesome idea!

The best ideas I have seen so far. Reward our gameplay is the best way to go!

    1. A few things to address here. First, since focus is earned through affinity, any kill your allies makes within fifty meters of you will still give you focus. So, if you are in a mission type that requires large amounts of death, such as Survival, Excavation, and Defense, even if you are the support there who doesn't fire a single bullet or swing a single punch and just keeps casting abilities you'll still gain focus off them. Thus the objective reinforces kills and yet does not destroy team effort if the entire goal is killing. Even if one person is extremely good at getting kills, using something like World on Fire, you still benefit from it.

    2. As for the variety issue, how does this sound: As a high end syndicate reward, you could buy a Lens remover. By consuming it and having whatever the lens was equipped to left in the forge for a day or more you can get the lens back and install it on something new. So if you get tired of using your Soma, you can remove the lens and install it on a different weapon later on. Because you don't plan on using it anyway, having it in the forge isn't an issue. It would still have the restriction of needing a max ranked item to install it in, but you would still be able to move the lens around your collection over time.

For this being "Another daily chore", that is why the mission cap and daily cap were there. Focus becomes something that happens in the background as you use your good gear. It isn't something you need to priorities, doing other things such as gaining syndicate standing will earn you the daily focus as well.

I hope this covers everything. I"ll see about adding a few of these ideas to the main post later on today.

    1. What are you talking about? Are we playing a different game? We all have farmed focus in Draco right? You think The EV Trinity gets the same amount as the Excalibur is?
If a RJ Excalibure will get about 25k focus per wave, an EV Trinity will get 5k at best. This is not shared focus, this is exploitation, of the Trinity because she gets garbage in contrast to the Excalibur. The only reason Trinities do it is to rank up a weapon. So, no, this problem is not solved by far! Game still gets destroyed by this. Shared focus is a joke.

    2. Well, the lens remover is a good idea, I give you that and to be honest I never thought of it. Good job there. But my humble opinion is, if a mechanic is broken and stupid, you don't make it slightly better, you just remove it.

Anyway, the topic is good and was nice of you to bring it up. I agree it needs more attention.

  6. Two of the games greatest features are it's co-operative nature and the vast variety of Warframes and weapons.

Both of those aspects are destroyed by the focus acquisition system. Don't get me wrong, I love focus, it has added something new and different that the game needed. It's the way we acquire it that it is very wrong.

Nowadays we cannot help each other in order to finish a mission and enjoy it the most. We are forced to "go for the kills". Am I the only one that thinks that this method destroys the game??? This system disencourages the team effort and co-operation. Only one can benefit and not the group.

Second problem is the variety. This game has one of the biggest arsenals of weapons I have ever seen in a game. The focus systems won't allow us to use them all, only the ones that have the focus lens. This is killing the game as well imho.

So, I think this whole topic is in vain. The focus should be acquired as the syndicate, maybe not as easy, but with the same mechanics. The devs can lower the daily cap if they don't  want us to get it very easy. But it must be part of our gameplay, not an other daily pain in the a$$.

The lens system for individual weapons/warframes is a mistake. They must be removed OR placed in the primary slot, the secondary slot, the melee slot and of course the warframe slot. That way all weapons and warframes can benefit from it and not only our chosen ones that we must use again and again.

I know that I will get very negative comments but if you think it over, I am not wrong. This post was not out of hate, I love this game and I want it to get better.

  7. The Focus system is very poorly done and Focus 1.1 is a very good example of that.
The buffs are very nice, don't get me wrong, but the implementation is very bad. Just Bad.

    Why?

Since the focus system got out on update 18 two very bad things happened.

    1. I can't play with all my frames, only those who have focus lens (and can farm it). Bye bye utility and support Warframes.

    2. We must play against one another (I don't mean conclave) in order to farm focus. We need to compete for kills.

Remember a time when Warframe used to be about co-operation? Not anymore!

Focus system has changed the balance of the game and not in a good way. It has it's positives and I love them, but, if you want to farm it everybody is your enemy.

I just farm it solo with stealth kills.

    It's sad, very sad.

I hope the DEVs do something to fix it because I love this game and I want to see it in it's past glory.

A very simple solution is to make it farmable like the syndicates and equip the focus on your Tenno, or the warframe/weapon slot. Not individual warframes and weapons. This limits the tennos very much. I want to play every mission with different weapon, can I? Its a game with one of the biggest weapon collections and we can't use them. It's insane.

    Sorry for the long post.

  8. Oh and also, probably known by many people but i'm sure there are some out there who don't know this. Adding the amount of Impact, Puncture and slash on a weapon together will give you the overall base damage of the weapon.

    E.g.

    Impact - 34

    Puncture - 65

    Slash - 19

    Base Damage = 118

Therefore adding mods to increase the damage these damage types do makes your weapons, overall, do more damage.

    E.g.

    Impact - 34

    Puncture - ^165^

    Slash - 19

    Base Damage = 218

Yes they add more damage, BUT, elements draw damage from the basic damage, which is without the slash/puncture/impact mod.

If you want to increase the basic damage you must add mods that on their description say "increase damage by #% " like Serration or Heavy Caliber.

Conclusion is that if you add Serration you will increase elemental damage as well , but, if you add Buzz Kill you will not.

    I hope I helped.

  9. that's cause noone cares about finishers - they are often just too long and too weak.  If you can kill it with a swing of a sword or wait 3-4s for some animation that may not even kill the target.

Finisher attack ignores armor and since a recent update gives extra xp. It is stronger and for me much more fun. But of course it's up to the tenno to decide what to do.

  10. Nice compilation, would have been nice to see the finishers for infested though, they're unique compared to corpus and grineer. For instance, if you stealth kill a runner with a fist weapon you'll suplex them.

Yes, I know that infested are a different deal at all. Some of them have the same animations though.

The point is that it is really very hard to steal kill an infested. They are almost always full alerted. Even in spy missions.

Maybe I will try something in the future. Thanks for the comment.

  11. All melee weapons in this game have two finishers. A rear finisher and a front finisher.

Recently I realized that not many tennos were aware of that. Most knew only about the stealth rear finisher.

So, I created a video to demonstrate all the finishers in the game as up to date.

    I hope you enjoy

  12. So, Ember's skill 4 now costs 50 energy, plus continuous drain and it will last for the same amount of time??

Now that is what I call a big nerf on a skill!

According to my 1st tests, Ember's skill 4 used to cost 70 for full duration (with Streamline mod on).
Now it costs about 100-110 for full duration (with Streamline mod on)
Also, in both cases, the mods Primed Continuity and Constitution are applied aswell.

Should I buff duration or should I buff Efficiency?
Longer duration means longer time to drain your energy.

Please someone to correct me if I am wrong!

DEVs, I want what you are smoking!
