  1. Long time ember player.

Here is my ideal kit, in line with Ember's namesake.

New Passive: Backdraft - When taking heat damage Ember will recover up to 10/20/50% of heat damage as fuel based on heat levels from Ultimate. (Lower heat levels equal 50% conversion, higher heat levels = 10%)

Ability 1: Pyroblast - Ember fires a superheated heat damage projectile that ignites the target for X damage. Upon contact with enemies / or collidable objects the projectile explodes dealing area damage, and spawning "ember coal" particles (fuel) Bonus Effect from Ultimate: Particles absorbed by Ember's passive after using this ability contribute both to the Detonation's heat pool and regenerate Ember's health pool.

Ability 2: Accelerant - Same as now, spawns particles (fuel), Increases heat damage. Bonus Effect from Ultimate: Enemies killed while under effect will spawn patches of ground that can be lit on fire by heat abilities or firearms for increased damage and armor while standing on them.

Ability 3: Molten Carapace - Ember sheds all heat from her passive, due to the temperature drop her skin hardens and she gains a short term armor buff that increases based off the amount of heat expelled, reflects attacks against this hardened shell. As heat rises, the buff wears off faster. Bonus effect from ultimate. If used at full heat Ember gains a movement speed buff as well as armor.

Ability 4: On/Off two part 4 ability tied to passive

    Detonation (When on)

Ember surges with fiery anger, All heat damage increased by x% scales up to maximum % over duration. Every attack made while active increases energy drain. All attacks made while Detonation is active ignite targets for X%, Any target hit during detonation while ignited pulsates with Ember's energy and releases a pulse of damage. Targets killed while active release large amounts of particles (fuel) for Embers next outburst. Enemies hit by the pulsing attacks are ignited.

    Consumption (when off)

When Ember's fourth ability if toggled off all excess heat (particles) in the room is absorbed into Ember as a bonus heat damage. This pooled damage scales over time until a Maximum X is reached. This pooled "heat" can be used to fuel her abilities. Abilities 1-3 have bonus effects based on the heat levels when used.

Basically Ember will be a roaming backdraft, Creating fires to fuel her ultimate, Have a little bit more tank with an armor boost and passive health absorb on heat damage taken, and more interactivity with her skills. If she wants to clear rooms it will require setup to harvest particles (fuel) to keep her armor up to dive into a swathe of enemies, set everything on fire, build up heat and turn on her ultimate to have short bursts of room clearing AOE burning deathball gameplay without being the SET IT AND FORGET tier of ultimate we have had for years. With full heat ability 3's and her innate move speed on the ability, it will allow ember the ability to get into fights setup, go kaboom, and get out.Her Synergy will allow her to use her fuel particles for healing, armor and mov speed, or detonating for aoe damage.

Speak for yourself, we have yet to determine whether the average-time-to-aquire is faster in the new system (I don't think it is)

I'm a "vet" and I don't want another stupid system that requires 4 players to even consider starting. I liked the ease of use and casual design of Warframe. Your kind of obscene meta-grind really has no place here.

So no, I have no interest in your "solution" and will actively work against such nonsense.

While I thank you for your post I don't think I said it requires four players. I even hinted it would scale based on the number of players. It is easily Identifiable that parts are much more readily available now due to the ability to swap. Reducing the needed attempts to get something the limiting factor is relics now. Since time to reward is shorter per mission and cost per mission is up based on the premise you are only rewarded if you provide a relic.

In summary the key cost has increased but the ability to swap drops has basically altered the rewards per run. Even though you can only get one you theoretically can get upwards of four unique drop choices based on the relic used. To me this creates an detrimental difference between new players and veterans because new players may not have access to as many or as wide of a variety of relics to farm in the we manner as veterans.

If you could expand on why my meta grind is meta or why it is nonsense I would actually appreciate it.

  4. Now for the Idea itself.

Fissures as a means to obtain randomized or semi targeted primed loot or rewards. This IDEA hinges on void traces and the relic upgrade function via the segment in our ship.

Keep the current function of fissures intact but make additions to keep your veterans interested but add a twist in. The idea for fissures is great but it could be greatly improved with a few simple additions. My idea will bring back the void + utilize fissures.

Void Traces will be used for their current function + an additional function of creating a new tier of relics. Upon obtaining 6-8 flawless upgraded keys. You can upgrade a T4 batch of 8 flawless Relics into  an upgraded "super key" for a T5 Void tileset with the standard map types of defense/mobile def / sabo / surv / cap etc etc etc.

Now here is the kicker these T5 Variants of void mission with upgraded keys come with map modifiers. These modifiers are then applied based on the total number of players. Modifiers could be random invasions of syndicates throughout the run, Random kickers added to the run such as decreased everyones energy pool being reduced by a quarter, Invasions every 2 minutes. Weird things SPICE IT UP do something. Make the map harder and maybe add different armor/shield variant to units based map wide.

Now these improved keys provide a harder challenge for us to BEAT, it is great because it is map wide variety so something old becomes new......but adds new challenges to it. The keys themselves would create a single drop chosen from the prime piece prime drop per person that cannot be swapped with others, This drop would be chosen when you create your key and would cost a sizable amount of fissure farming as well as relic farming offsetting the "one shot" acquisition of the piece you want. Now along with this the ability of newer lesser "geared" newer players to acquire random prime parts via fissures and farm up with time it allows player who have INVESTED time to target specific pieces in a similar manner but instead of using the fissures to obtain the prime parts we use them to obtain a void traces. It provides veterans with a challenge in the fact that it is T5 harder enemies, map variances, and TIME invested to farm up the 800 void traces, and the 8 keys. IT allows teams to test NEW builds based on the map modifiers. It allows a wider variety of teams. It lets veterans to remain engaged, it allows the VOID to be end game still for PRIME farming. It allows engagement from veterans.

It is a very basic bare bones idea but the intent is there. You have provided fissures and a new star map to facilitate the introduction of primes to newer players in a progressive manner, now you can keep the veterans engaged and challenged while they hunt for primes. The pieces are already in the game you just gotta make a bit of an effort to string them together so fissures can cater to both groups of players. It all hinges on the usage of void traces.

    1.)

An issue with this idea if what if you get the prime part you want by farming for void traces in fissures then you get double chances because you can just farm up and then build up upgrades keys and also hopefully get it while you farm fissures!

Answer: Make a Relic key that does not drop any primes, only resource related rarities forma + other stuff. When you upgrade 8 of these you get a random roll of 6  prime pieces and can pick 1 guaranteed one on your key. preventing you from getting primes for 8 or so fissure runs...or something...let us convert relics into these "blank" super key relics to make flawless. Now the KEY can only be used by you for a T5 map + has a non swappable prime piece specifically for you. This time investment offsets the "OMG ITS NOT RNG FACTOR" because you could probably farm 8 prime parts, sell them, and just buy w/e you want anyway but some people don't like spending plat for prime parts.....

EITHER WAY regardless T5 Void Tiles, with map modifiers, and syndicate invasions on steroids would be great and allow for pretty cool load outs, team settings. (Load outs could be changed via a load out kiosk at the start of map open for two minutes to allow quick changing of mods / weapons to allow players to kind of tailor their builds (NO FRAME CHANGING) the to map via a 2 minute time out before the T5 SUPER VOID RUN begins.

  5. I applaud your update to the star map and ambitious attempt to change the paradigm of void missions and acquisition of prime parts, prime blueprints, and rewards for fighting the void corrupted foes to obtain these orokin marvels from the clutches of the corrupted.

I want to preface this entire post with a summary of my experience with the game. This game to me was the answer to a search for many years for a multiplayer co-op shooter with a emphasis on customization and quick pick up GO gameplay with DEPTH to allow me to grow my chosen character/hero/mech. I found it and have kept up with it since its launch even through long hiatuses.

I love this game, I love the concept, I love the presentation, I love the community (well most of the time), and I love the fact that tons of people from different places PLAY THIS. This is truly the only space ninja, with space magic, gun toting co-op game for me. I will not address a majority of the concerns my fellow Tenno have raised with this patch or the direction of the game. I will address fissures and their interaction with different segments of the players. Maybe I am off target, my idea is horrible, my understanding of the playerbase is WAY off but these are my opinions.

    Newer/Casual players:

Void Fissues as currently implemented are great in the perspective that if I was a new player progressing through the map (forget about the bugs with junctions the INTENT was to progress through the start chart clearly), I would obtain relics along the way, level up my frame obtain needed mods from alerts and grow into the game. At some point I would begin the hunt for PRIMED parts after going through the story and interacting with players and LEARNING about the benefits of such PRIMED items in the game. It would be a great SMOOTH transition for me. The concept is fabulous on paper and very new player friendly if no bugs were in this patch and a tutorial or hint system was implemented for new players to understand the progression from starter items/frames to the primed or syndicate versions from farming.

    Veteran Players:

The issue for the majority of this update for veteran players is, we are on our "main" frames, we do not want rehashed content or even filler content but we are understanding in the fact that things needed to be updated, and stagnation isn't wanted either so the concept of fissures is perfect. It is new but familiar, and provides a new mechanic for acquiring things. Now the things we need, want aren't easier acquisition of prime parts but rather an enjoyable way of obtaining these things. For us this new mechanic is basically just a weird way to make getting primes parts/rewards quicker then we normally would.Which is not what we want or need, The reason this would be quicker for us is we have a ton of keys and know the game/builds already so we can just afk farm fissures. This may not be the case for newer players. To us fissures remove any reason for us to involved time or effort into the game and may cause players to leave due to "quick" acquisition of primes for no effort basically it will cause a disconnect in your player base. A lot of the reason people enjoy the game is because you basically build your frame/playstyle and tackle a void mission for the promise of loot if you survive the tiered gameplay/challenge. Rack up enough fodder parts or your hoped for loot and build your way into a wider variety or gameplay or PLAT to get what you want in some way while building up your MR to unlock more goodies. If you are high enough MR and have done it all then the void was a benchmark to test your self against self made challenges or even just play with friends to pass the time and maybe to just farm up loot to sell. Fissures remove that aspect, sure the void could still be run but for what purpose it is basically no different from the planetary nodes, all you would do is farm for relics to get primes/other mods from alerts.

Now on to the IDEA in the next Post, Other Tenno let me know if you agree or disagree with my summary of the issues with fissures at this point. I will break down my idea for how to re-implement the void for and even higher tier of of end game then before

  6. Hello everyone newer player here. Played during closed beta and dropped the game due to friends quiting. Only recently came back roughly 3 weeks ago and trying to earn plat to score some slots/weapon slots and to sell some things!

  7. Not to mention that Crimson Dervish stance with x3 damg on first three strikes. Nothing else but prisma skana for my immortal excal.

crimson dervish has no effect on exalted blade

is this unclear in anyway to people?

  8. The issue people seem to be missing is Steel Charge is a raw damage increase on the Ultimate of ash because of the new change. It is finisher damage and is unmitigated. Regardless of if using corrosive is better for the group Steel charge wins out because people can slot 3 corrosives and run corrosive on their weapons allowing for higher overall damage because ash ulti will be hitting much harder.

  9. I'd rather reduce the amount of armor my enemies have to inflict more damage with everything than just particularly melee related things. Though, if you're not going really deep into Survivals (1 1/2+ hour of T3 or T4), I suppose it doesn't matter in the short term. If you're not a regular end game running sort of guy, then keep the polarity blank, since most of the work is done in the mods themselves. Min/max only ever mattered in extreme conditioning, though Formaing your mod slots more than three times locks your frame/weapon into particular builds, which is why there are quite a few that actually have duplicates of frames/weapons in order to use different builds.

I only really suggest polarizing the Aura slot if you're going to lock into a particular setup. The fifth Forma is pretty much the proverbial nail in the coffin for builds for most things.

That would normally be correct but they changed how ash blade storm works...it is considered finisher damage and bypasses defenses....with steel charge boosting it by 60% vs 30% armor reduction which does nothing for the ultimate. The issue is the timing of this. They release him early in the game and never alter the steel charge effect on his ultimate...then release a prime variant with a V polarity...everyone buys forma / uses their forma / swaps to a new slot then SUDDENLY they hotfix steel charge to suddenly work on his ultimate...oh look tons of people now using more forma on him to swap back to steel charge.

I wonder how that affects their timing on the change. Was it suddenly higher priority post prime launch on him because more people would be using forma on him to swap back? Why couldn't they release him with the steel charge change?

  10. I used scindo prime which has the highest base damage of melee weapons tied with jat kittag and we had 3 full steel charge and 36% crit change with 2x multiplier

You understand your melee weapon has no bearing on the exalted blade damage and that only the mods do.

Exalted blade is in effect its "own" unique melee weapon with a "unique" stance. It has its own base stats and mirrors only your currently equipped melee mods. The reason I doubt you got those numbers is because syndicate weapons allow you to get an extra 100% extra dmg mod + proc on your exalted blade that normal non syndicate weapons do not have access too. That is why I said you should not brag on the forums especially since you seem to think running steel charge is good on him in the void where corrosive projection provides a far higher damage increase due to the heavily armored enemies in the void but hey keep bragging.

  11. actually... never switch polarities unless its a D by default :)

    OP... supports your best bet.

I feel like that may be true but this is a community wide issue, they releases ash prime with a V polarity on aura knowing steel charge had no use on him currently then fix it after his launch after a ton of people me included swapped to the more general purpose Dash slot. I feel like its a bigger issue then just messaging support and saying "gib 20p" the easier fix would be to run an alert for 24 hours or something with a prebuilt forma so people can swap back to the original polarity which is now useful.

meh w/e maybe we shouldn't have forma'ed our aura slots but once you min/max your frames and want as much capacity as possible to run rank 10 mods the aura slot is enticing due to being able to gain "extra" capacity you normally wouldn't have access to it has the same effect as adding a non aura polarity due to it adding roughly 7-9 extra cap

  12. I just bought forma and changed the aura slot to accommodate a corrosive projection since steel charge was useless on him.

Is their any possible for you guys to run a built forma alert to ease the anguish of the plethora of new ash players who made the same mistake as me and many others.

I am sure I will get a S#&$ ton of flak for this post but as you can imagine as a newer player and supporter of the game it was kind of a punch in the gut to have wasted 20/10p on an item only for it to be hotfixed negating the purchase since I have to purchase/build/rush another forma to fix the aura slot.

Either way good change just hope something nice is done an alert is made for a pre built forma to prevent the saltiness and tears from accumulating on the forums and on my keyboard.

  13.

    TL;DR :read underlined parts

Hi everyone! I'm writing this because, after some time to recover from the Excal 2.0 hype (XD) I noticed something wrong with his 4th ability...

When I play with other Excaliburs all I hear is "swoosh-swoosh-swoosh"... this is the sound of the spam. And when I turn to see the origin of this sound, I see this Excal cutting the air, killing hordes of enemies dozens of meters away from him. Obviously I see no one caring for the awesome but unnecessary combos. Not talking about Slash Dash (which has lower range than the waves and still is highly unrelyable) And I have to admit that I, too, ended playing him this way.

But this is not melee combat. This is gun fighting.

The energy wave thing totally ruins the concept of the ability and the warframe itself. The blade is nothing more that a Fluctus with a cool sword skin.

About this, I thought  some solutions:

1)only some moves from some combos create energy waves.

This way you can't spam waves and you have to do specific moves to use them, thus promoting the use of different combos.

2)introduce a charge attack that creates a wave, while every other attack don't.

You could still spam, but it would be slow and not that effective. The wave could cost a bit of energy to discourage the abuse (I'd prefer, but it could not be necessary )

3)only when channeling you create waves, but that comes with more energy consumption, so that you could still spam, but you're more limited and need to think when you can do it

And that's it, tell me what you think ;)

You are complaining about the most thematically sound ability on him aside from his iconic Slash Dash and it is mind-blowing to me.

Think about it...he is a swordsman based Tenno who shoots energy waves from his blade in a world where you are playing space ninja and people have ships/energy weapons/powers that completely break the mold of what a swordsman should be (Radial Blind, Radial Javelin) and you decide to argue that his "sword" based ability should be nerfed for not being a valid iteration of his character concept/theme?

Why not ask for his two and three to be changed into more thematically fitting for a swordsman instead of trying to push for changes to one of his most thematically sound abilities?

  14. It's fun to see how much the topic has deviated from its original point, or how I totally misunderstood it.

The OP is telling that the ulti of XK breaks the purpose of a supposed melee-centric frame - and the existence of the combos, and propose solutions to solve these "issues". Am I correct?

Nowhere I see something that could be interpreted as "Nerf XK".

To clarify my position: I like that XK is now playable. In no way I want to nerf him, and I think the OP doesn't want such a thing either (except if I misunderstood him a lot).

I just think that the damage-waves break the purpose of a melee-centric frame (even if a great range is really appreciable).

This is just a matter of mechanics. I do not suggest to nerf the Ability. Just to focus the damage on the blade, and amplify the utility on the waves.

    ~*XK forever*~

    TL:DR

"I want to nerf him but I don't want to call it a nerf we will call it a mechanical change to his skill set!"
