  1. What you will come to learn, is that Warframe isn't "pay to win", but rather "pay to skip"; namely, skip the grind. Most gear in the game, aside from Primes and landing craft, is fairly easy to get, with a bit of time. In most cases it's as simple as chewing through a planet until you reach the local boss, then smacking him around a bit, then waiting the better part of four days realtime for the 'frame to actually build.

And that's without accounting for the time spent gathering resources. If you're as new as you say, I'm sure you've noticed that getting those Orokin Cells, Neural Sensors, and Control Modules, can seem a bit daunting at times. Control Modules stop being a concern once you get your feet wet in the Void, but with the other two you'll either have plenty, or not enough, no middle ground.

And then comes the part of having a slot for it, which brings us to why getting most the Warframes is easy. Slots can only be bought with Platinum, which means someone, somewhere, has given money to the devs. Maybe you'll trade for your plat, maybe you'll get a discount coupon and buy some for yourself, either way the devs win in the end. And by leaving most the gear in a state that you can grind it easily, they encourage players to acquire plat to buy slots. And the larger a player's inventory, the more items they have that they want to install Catalysts and Reactors on, meaning they either wait for those to come around in events and alerts, or, you guessed it, buy them with plat.

It's a fairly elegant system, all told. What I really like about it is the fact that players can trade plat, reducing the pressure on players to spend money if they want to stay F2P. Trade chat becomes just another grind to skip if you buy plat directly.

    ...Wow, that got long-winded fast.

Anyway, Valkyr can be fun, but in my opinion she's at her best when you have either the Eternal War or Rage mods, optimally both.

  2. Okay, I've got a request and/or bit of feedback that isn't enemy related. It's about Kela, the broadcast things, and the fact that she never shuts up. Seriously, out of five minutes, she'll be talking for four and a half of them. Constantly repeating the same taunts over and over and over. It never stops. I've decided to turn my speakers off, and that's not a good thing.

So please, implement a minimum time between taunts. Once per thirty seconds, perhaps?

    Ha cool.

    Just to be clear:

Weekend = not able to play

    Week after = work

Why should I contact the support for this boosters if it wont affect anything?

Perhaps consider saying as much in your support ticket? Be up front about it, you bought the boosters for the weekend, because that's when you had time to play. Since renewing the boosters will do you no good, request a refund instead.

You know, the weekend is the only time I have to play.  They had better make this right after this is done.  They took money from me for a booster.

I also had a 50% off coupon for the Market that I haven't been allowed to use.  So that's nice as well.

You should still be able to use the coupon to buy plat via the Warframe website. I don't recall if you're be able to use Steam wallet funds through the website, but it doesn't require you to be ingame.

Why are some people still saying it has to do with Buzzkill and the superficial prices with it? the attacks started before DE even hinted it was coming to PC today well yesterday now , For whatever reason it's happened. Let DE do their thing with their partners, shake your heads at the group who orchestrated it and move on. I'm sorry if any of your nights were ruined guys by this but let's chill.

Did they really start that long ago? I'd have to go back and check, but DE saying slash mods were coming may have been as far back as wednesday. First staff posts about the problem seem to be dated the 10th though, which would fit the timeline for the slash mod announcement.

At any rate, the reason people are saying it's the cause is because it just so happens to coincide with Baro having the slash mods. I wouldn't be surprised if we had seen something similar with his old habit of bringing single event mods, if it had been Buzz Kill. Likewise, had this happened last weekend, people would be saying it was because DE had just released a massive patch/update.

  6. So this is something that has bugged me from time to time, and while it usually isn't a problem, usually we don't get four gigabyte patches.

Regardless of whatever settings I have set for Steam, because Warframe downloads through its own launcher, it will use however much of my bandwidth as it pleases. While this isn't a major issue, it is an annoyance. Usually when I'm downloading whatever, I prefer to have it throttled somewhat, so I can still do things online without noticeable impact. Other times I go out of my way to throttle my downloads to prevent large load on my 'net interfering with my housemate's activities.

So now I'm asking, DE, in the future would you consider adding download throttling to your launcher?

And let me just take a moment to address the eventual "lol get better netz noob" comments:

I have what I have, I pay what I pay for it. You have what you have, you pay what you pay for it. That's just how things are, and unless you're willing to pay for my internet, then it's not going to change.

Projectile weapons?  (Dread) Not mandatory...but I'd argue that it should be used.

Point of order, bows have innate punchthrough on charged shots. Some other weapons (Ignis, a couple sniper rifles) also have innate punchthrough.

As to the question of how useful punchthrough mods are, I will say only this: Without a punchthrough effect, corpses will block your fire. It's not only a matter of killing a dude and the five dudes behind him, but shooting through the first dude's falling corpse to hit targets that are still alive.

  8. Alternatively, out of the frames you currently have building, Frost. Ember is amusing, Loki is hax, Mag is niche, but you'll get a lot of milage out of Frost.

As far as Frost goes, you've got fairly high shields and health, on top of one of the highest armor ratings in the game. Powers wise, Avalanche is your room clear (Note: line of sight limited), and Snow Globe is going to be your best friend in any kind of defense mission, especially solo.

More importantly, you don't need particularly expensive mods for him. Besides your personal durability mods, you're mainly building for strength, a bit of range, and however much efficiency you feel like devoting slots to. If you're willing to use the power restores, slotting in a high-ranked Flow instead of efficiency, and simply relying on a larger power pool is also perfectly valid.

  9. As with other "ak" weapon variants, you need two of the same pistols in your inventory for the "ak" blueprint to use as materials. So in the case of say, Akbronco Prime, you'd need to find all the parts for two Bronco Primes, build them, and then you can use them to build the Akbronco Prime.

It is of course recommended that you level one of the single pistols to max (for the mastery) before using it to build the dual version though, no sense wasting the time and resources on having to build a third one.

  10. Okay, so I've got overall three major issues, two bugs and one annoyance.

The bugs, let's start with the login not working. There's a thread about it, but I'm currently unable to login on Firefox, and I've noticed that even once I do log in, the page doesn't update to reflect I've logged in until I refresh it.

Bug two, the staff reply feed. It goes straight from "Today" to "Earlier" ...where earlier is July 2015. I don't really care about Ash Prime Access at the moment, I'd rather look at, say, yesterday's staff replies.

As to the annoyance, I've noticed that if someone replies to a topic while you're catching up on it, it will not only display a notice, but play a sound. As far as I can tell, there is currently no way to turn that sound off. If i hadn't been looking right at it at the time, and noticed the sound playing with the notice, I'd likely have spent last night running virus checks because my computer just made a strange sound when it shouldn't have.

I'm going to assume that the setting for this sound is in the "settings" tab on the profile. Pity it seems users cannot currently access it.

  11. If you expected it to double your crit damage, you're right in questioning your math. Effectively, Bladed Rounds functions as a second Vital Sense, and works off the base crit damage mod. With the Lanka's base crit bonus of 2, that comes out to an extra 2.4 times bonus damage from each mod, for a total crit damage of 6.8.

  12. A better comparison would be Ivara's Artemis Bow, not Exalted Blade, but I like the idea.

On one hand, there's precedent for the change based on those two abilities, and how they take iconic parts of those frames and turn them into powers. On the other hand, they might not go through with it for Mesa, simply because they did do exactly this with Ivara.

  13. Three wishes, eh? While I'm sure some or all of this has shown up in the past thirteen pages, I don't feel like flipping through all of them right now. So!

Edit: Actually, scratch that one. A) It's shown up several times. B) I just had a better idea.

1- Rework the mission bonus objectives. Get ten stealth kills during a survival mission? Hack a terminal in defense? I'll settle for just setting it up so you don't end up with things like that, but I'd also like to see it expanded a little. Style kill currently applies only to kills made while sliding, but why not aim-gliding? That's plenty stylish.

2- More Syndicate weapon mods. We've got plenty of 'frame mods (and I'm sure more on the way for newer 'frames), but each Syndicate only has the three weapon mods. This would be a good chance to sneak in some indirect buffs to weaker weapons, or interesting utility like the Furis mod.

3- An actual auction house. Please. I'm sure this has come up several times by now, and I'm pretty sure it's already on your to-do list, but please, for those of us who don't have the time to just sit around trying to find someone to trade with, I hope you can get something out soon?

  14. Check/share your build? It might be an issue on your end. I can tell you I was running my own efficiency build Ember last night without a problem.

Actually, that's a second question: Were you running a standard Ember, or Ember Prime? Just because I wasn't having an issue with my Prime, doesn't mean there might not be a bug with the normal version.

  15. Simple question: Have you been using your Paris alongside Talons? Talons have a pool of 20 and, like the Angstrum and Castanas, share the sniper pool. If you use a bow or sniper rifle alongside one of these weapons, the main weapon will have its ammo max reduced to the lower of the two numbers.

  16. Perhaps an option to not load in other player's avatars? You see the placeholders from time to time, when there's a tenno that hasn't fully loaded on your screen, a dark Excalibur silhouette. Instead of always loading in everyone's warframes and gear, you could use a setting in the options menu to reduce load, by having everyone on your computer load in as the placeholders.

It'd certainly be useful for whenever the trader shows up, cut down the amount of stuff you'd have to load by a massive amount.

  17. I ran into this bug myself last night, after finishing the Mirage quest. Pulled the last piece out of the foundry, Ordis said his lines, and the screen showed the button label thing you folks are describing. I don't recall if it showed an image, or if it was just a black screen. I had to alt-f4 in order to get out of it, as the escape button did nothing.

I will note that the quest completed just fine though.
