  1. Recently got the Afuris. Trying it on all the factions and seems a bit lackluster in terms of damage-per-clip ratio. I could empty an entire clip into a Grineer Lancer and kill him, but that will take around 30% of the total ammo.

How do you guys make this weapon the killer it is? Must it be potatoed? Need a lot of high level mods?

  2. DE has increased the credit gain to a higher than average amount compared to before because this game is still in beta. I believe they wish to set the credit to high first, then from people's feedback, scale it back down. And keep repeating these steps to find the sweet spot.

For example, prior to this patch, an average mission gives 1.5k credit. Now say it's around 5k. With this change, DE can monitor and use any evidence picked up to get an idea what's happening with the game at the current stage. Maybe players will play less due to the unnecessary credit grind. Maybe DE will get more positive feedback from people who enjoy the game more because of less grind. Maybe there will be less forum posts about "I'm tired to grind for credits, harder missions should give more reward" etc threads, which I've seen a lot around prior to the recent patch. Or maybe people will complain and DE will scale down the credit gain (which is most likely).

I feel the credit reward prior to patch was too low, and now it is a bit too high for higher reward missions. Instead of 8-10K for end game areas and alerts, I'll still be happy with 5-7k. But hey, this might just be the case because we've been credit starved for so long, getting so much credits all of a sudden feel like a little too much.

  3. The best advise I'll give is buy some weapons that are readily available with credits, and not involve crafting. As of the latest patch, credits is quite easy to come by.

I'll advise to try out Braton, Latron, Strun, Burston, and Gorgon once you get to rank 2 and get a feel of what's your style of third person shooter. Do you like close range shotgun? Or slow firing but powerful burst fire rilfes? Or automatic rifles like Braton or Gorgon.

All the basic weapon types can be easily purchased with credits. The ones that need platinum or be crafted are basically specialised versions of the basic guns. For example, if you like Strun but prefer it to have a longer effective range, craft a Hek. Or if you prefer more damage at close range, get a Boar.

There's no 'best' gun in the game as the best gun for someone might not feel like the best for you.

  4. At the moment I've got Dual Heat Swords and Scindo, but want to pick up another weapon good that's especially good against Infected. DHS's charge attack is great against the other factions who does not stun as often, but against Infected I  often find myself unable to charge up. Scindo is great against Infected, but the shake is too much after playing for a  while.

So guys, what are some good weapons against Infected, but will also be ok against other factions? I'm leaning towards weapons you'll use for normal attacks, but are not heavy (such as the Gram, Fragor etc) what causes shakes.

Currently I'm thinking Dual Zoren for crits, or Amphis for stuns, or Ankyros. Anyone with recommendations on these or other weapons?

  5. Most people on the forum should be playing warframe anyway, so... yeah. I guess the real question is, should we pay money for it?

I would and have already done so. The reason is I have played this game for 30+ hours, and for that I should thank the developers for giving me an enjoyable time. I don't expect everyone else to do so, as everyone is in different financial situations. For those who have a tight budget, not paying does not bother me, as their play time contribute to the health and player base of the community. For those who can spare some money, know what you want from the market before you spend a lot on platinum. You don't want to overspend and realise there's nothing interesting for you to buy, and then feeling you got ripped off. So spend on your own discretion and judgement.

  6. I have come across maps where the objective changes during mid mission. I remember playing on one map that is either sabotage or raid but half way through the mission it became a exterminate. Not sure if bug or intentional feature.

Never had this problem with assassinate missions. You probably got the short straw that time.

  7. I agree with the OP and would like to keep this thread up there.

I feel that it is much easier to increase the values on enemies to make them harder to kill to increase the difficulty, but that is not fun.

It will be great if the devs can throw in more difficult enemy types, such as enemies with different AIs, weak points, weapons etc, instead of recycling the standard goons and giving them more hp. Of course that is more design and programming, costing more time from the developers, but in the long run it will make the game be more interesting and hang on to its player base.

  8. False intel. Turns out Vay Hek was on another station. Lotus sometimes get that wrong when there's a million other Tennos running around the galaxy she has to look after.

In all seriousness, I think the waypoint is broken in your case. It does that sometimes, misleading you to the wrong rooms. WP system needs a bit more work.

  9. (Spelling on Kilikan?) First defense mission on Venus.

Anyway, please please please go back to the old map.

    The new one is awful.

I agree and disagree. Keep the new map (any new map is always better), but polish it so the AI are more aggressive and does not get stuck in places. I find the new map got a much better chock area management. It was too easy on the old map for moas to sneak up to the cryostasis, ie spawn points too close to defend point.

I feel the new map looks much better, and actually allows for sniping (probably the only defence map that allow sniping), so more variety in gameplay.

So don't reject the new straight away. Ask the devs to improve it, which they likely will

  10. It's still the same. The only thing is you can only click when it becomes really slow not when it's quick

I'm not sure that is the case for me. When I try to click or even spam click when the reward flashes, nothing happens and it just keeps going. Before the update I was about to select a reward when the lottery slows down.

  11. I've found before the last update, i could click on the login reward lottery and get that reward when the lottery is rolling, but now it seem like its removed.

Was this a bug and the devs fixed it? Are we suppose to be able to select a prize we want with reflex or it was not intended?

EDIT: It is also likely that clicking does not really allow you to select a prize, but merely speed up or skip the lottery animation and shows you what you should have got anyway. The interface is not very clear if it is the one you picked or it is just what you should be getting that day.

Can anyone confirm anything regarding the login reward?

  12. I'm thinking about crafting a twin viper. At the moment I do not have a single viper. After some calculation, I need 115,000 creds, 1 Orokin Cell and a bunch of mats to build the whole thing.

For those who have the weapon, is it worth the time and effort to make or there are similar alternatives?

  13. This is something that anyone who has played Mass Effect 3 multiplayer will know. In fact, it is way quicker in ME3 to max out the level on a character as you can reach that between 20-30 games.

After playing that game, I don't see experience as a reward, but I see anything not maxed out as a hindrance to my game experience. I just want to quickly level out the frame or weapon so I can kill quick and survive longer. At level 30, your frame is able to perform at it's maximum capacity, therefore everyone should try to reach, to make their game easier. The same goes for weapons. Your get credits (which is the actual currency) as reward for finishing a mission, and the satisfaction that you are performing the best you can.

So I believe the real game starts when your character has maxed out, as you are in the best shape to tackle the mission. You should have more incentive to play the game now that your character is the strongest it can be (just purely on the capacity to be the best, not counting in mods).

As such, I would even prefer the level up system to go even faster. If people really see this as an issue, maybe the devs can convert exp you gain after maxing out into credits or something.

  14. At the moment, I've got Mag, Loki, and Nyx.

I primarily play with my friend, who uses Excalibur and is getting Rhino very soon. We usually just kill everything in our way, so playing sneakily is out.

And I like aesthetics of the frame as much as how useful their abilities are. I would have picked Trinity but from her model, she looks a bit ugly... Reminds me of an insect with those thingies on her back.

I'm think to get either Frost, Trinity or someone else. Any recommendations and reasons why? And how difficult would it be to farm the respective bosses?

  15. So I was playing with my friend on a map when we started to wall run and shoot at the same time, to get that Matrix feeling of being total badass. Then it hit me. Why haven't we been doing this more often?

The problem is most maps are great for other shooters, tight corridors with lots of cover or big expansive area. But for this game, there need to be more player-to-map interaction. As in, more areas where we would WANT to wall run, do backflips, and generally more ninja-like stunts.

As of now, the wall runs are all quite gimmicky, as in sometimes we are required to do them to proceed further into the map. But at no time are we given the opportunity to use them freely in combat or traversing a map, due to the amount of obstacles, un-runnable walls, big chasms, etc.

What I'm proposing is simple. For existing maps that are expansive, can we get alternative ones where there are less obstacles, less rock walls (which you can't wall run on), less chasms, basically near bare-bone-like maps where players can do more wall run and backflip while fighting mobs?

To my knowledge, not a lot of third person shooters allow the freedom of movement like this game, and wall running is just a really unique part to this game, let alone a free to play. Let us enjoy this aspect more!

  16. True, maybe higher chance of rare mod drops, blueprint components or blueprints.

Or you can do it for a challenge. Also if you can grind towards the end, you get to farm a boss who gives you blueprint for some frames. =)

Making Nyx and Frost really hard to get... Excalibur too if you didn't start with him.

  17. I'm glad this has helped others to farm Rubedo faster. I know because apart from using this method, I've hardly ever picked up any Rubedo from playing normally. And those blueprints need a lot of them.

For me personally, I like to shoot/bash things just for the pure enjoyment of it. I don't like to eagerly wait for a drop to fly out of mobs and pick it up only to realise it's something I don't want. So for me, anything that gets rid of unnecessary farming time or help me farm quick is more preferable.

  18. I say Loki is most useful, as decoy is a life saver in defend maps, and generally boss fights, both are more difficult than your standard goon fighting.

But that been said, try to go for the one you like aesthetically. Look at some youtube videos of people playing the class and see how the class look from behind, how they run, any detail on the model you like/dislike.

But if you're not into the looks, think of it this way. Around 20 hours into the game, your weapons will be your main "gameplay" 80% of the time, other 20% using powers. Powers that just deal damage will be quickly outranked by weapons, so the utility powers start to shine (if they don't shine already). Frames with good utility powers will be more effective late game than they are early game.

  19. I've just got Nyx yesterday and used chaos a few times. Sometimes I see the exp, sometimes no. It might be related to how far you stand away from the fight...? Also I think the mission results page shows the number of kills your chaos has got you, because one game I used chaos a few times, got 23 kills, didn't fire more than 10 shots.
