  1. Il y a 18 heures, Cobalt313 a dit :

I want that to be a good idea but if the Grendel missions taught us anything it's that the enemy scaling would have to be actively kept low to account for the requirement of inadequately modded gear and the frail Operator state, though obviously not so low as to render the challenge itself trivial.

I think it would be actualy easier to scale enemies because everyone starts at basically the same level.

  2. I've been thinking of different ways WF could offera change of scenery inbetween two grinding sessions, and still serve as a challenge to both old and new players, and I want to see what you think about this:

An old space battlesite was found, but neither the Orbiter or the Railjack can maneuver through the dense debris and strange energy field that surrounds the incredibly large area. However, several warframes appear to lie dormant within, and with enough work, transference may be achieved with one of them inside the field. Then starts the Reawakening game mode. The game starts with one random warframe and one random weapon (either melee, secondary or primary), both unranked and unmodded, and the Tenno is surrounded by hostile enemies, either remnants of the Old War or scavengers. The Tenno must then go through a series of mission (not unlike sorties, but much longer), using only limited ressources. They earn xp for their weapons, can equip new mods they acquire as loot to them, and can accomplish side missions to fill the two weapon slots they don't have, but the rewards are random. In the best case scenario, the Tenno's waframe and weapons would go from 0 to 30 in the span of a dozen missions, maybe more.

At the end of his series of mission, the character receives a new type of currency, like Relics of the Old War, which can be in turn exchanged for new stuff. The exact amount and quality of the relics depend on the score achieved at the end of the missions (less death and time, higher kill count and accuracy, etc. gives a higher score).

What I like about this is the opportunity to experience the game just like at the beginning, with a weak frame and weapon, without access to a bazillion mod and offer an equal challenge to all players, regardless of mastery rank. This is of course inspired by the Diablo ladders and similar system, and a Ranked system can be implemented, with a leaderboard for both the best players and the best guilds. This is still a rough draft, but I want to hear your opinions

  3. After playing with Kuva Liches a bit, I realized I don't really care about it, and for a nemesis system, that's bad. I met a poor guy without armor and killed him, and now he's back for a vengeance, but he's a minor nuisance at worst. I have good memories of Nemesis in Shadows of Mordor who hunted me time and time again and I grew to hate and love them, but my Liches are just cool-looking mr-fodder weapons.

I don't know how it could be implemented, but I believe interactions with the kuva lich could be improved and would go a long way towards a greater enjoyment of this update. That being said, the liches shouldn't be limited to Grineers. Corpus could get their hands on some kuva and experiment on it, creating immortal cyborgs. A kuva larva could get infested and the end result would be a terrying undying blob of flesh and metal, but my personal wish would be a Simaris synthesis who somehow manage to gain awareness of his existence, found a way out of the simulation and hunts down the Tenno who killed him time and again for practice.

  4. I would like to add my voice to those asking for defy to remain at least in some form. Spawning clones that dies instead of you seems to be the best way of achieving that. You will have to watch how many clones you have remaining and maybe even adjust to a new position every time you die if you switch with your clones with dying.

Seems like fun to play and watch, as well as stopping the press 2 to not die.

  5. I personally think we shouldn't remove them, but instead add enemy types which excel against other weapon types instead. Like you said, it is not an issue when dealing with 20 minutes or less t4 survival/defense, but instead on the extreme levels of difficulty.

It shouldn't be easy, you shouldn't be able to use the same strategy to win everything.

However, I agree, right now, only the slow firing weapons have such a problem, and it means it is suboptimal to bring one. If, however, all the weapons types had enemies which countered them effectively, this wouldn't be a problem.

Let's see, what about an enemy which ignores damage below a certain point? It would be the bane of rapid-firing weapons. An enemy which deflects and throws grenades back at you against explosuve weapons? An enemy with a very small weakness point against shotguns?

Adding enemy types specialized against a specific Tenno tactic would not only increase the plausibility of the setting (the ennemies adapt), but would also offer a balanced challenged to all warframe builds instead of punishing Sniper users.

    Am I missing the point?

  6. Is it a bad move on DE's part? Yes

Is it worth quitting the game? At worst it's a money grab (which I always considered Prime Access to be anyway), at best its a mistake. While I will not support DE's decision, threatening to quit the game over colors seem petty and will not change the developper's opinions. Calmly state how it is wrong and not buying the pack or ask for a refund if you already done so seems to be a much better solution.

  7. there's already a corpus boss called Raptor

Oops, my bad... well, I'm open to suggestion for cooler names.

I think this is a really solid idea! I like that you gave them a good motivation to be an enemy, I can easily see how not all humans would trust these faceless, silent, "allies" called the Tenno. Especially with the stigma of the being the ones who wiped out the Orikin, who we still know very little about.

I think it would be cool if they were a sort of random occurrence. Like we'd get an alert of sorts that "Raptor activities have been reported on Mars" so when playing on Mars while that alert is up, there's a 33% chance of them being the enemy. Or maybe midway through the mission Lotus warns you "I'm detecting a Raptor drop ship inbound on your location Tenno.. prepare yourself." then they'll break in from windows, or out of air vents, or just show up in the next room fighting the grineer/corpus.

The only thing I really take issue with is the Raptor Drone. The corpus barely have the tech to make functional quadrupeds, I seriously doubt the Raptors would be able to figure out such a thing on their own. plus I don't see the role it would really play in a fast pace breach squad. Aside from this one unit though I think these ideas are great and you should keep building on them!

                                                                                            +1

Thanks a lot for the support.

I also added a few new ideas

  8. Emergency Transmission to all active Tenno Operative

Tenno, the support you recently gave to the Red Veil Resistance movement allowed them to achieve significant gains against both the Corpus and the Grineer. Word of their success reached the ears of many oppressed worlds controlled by our common enemies. The Red Veil never had so many volunteers joining their ranks, all thanks to you.

However, the Red Veil is not the only organization taking an active role in this fight. An influent group of terrorists called the Raptors has also taken advantage of this enthusiasm to increase its supporters base. Unfortunatly, their understanding of this conflict is flawed and consider the Tenno a threat to be eliminated in order for peace to be restored in the system.

They raid Corpus, Grinneer and Tenno bases and steal all the technology they can find, leaving only destruction in their wake. They must be stopped, or many of your brothers and sisters will die before they have the opportunity to wake up from their slumber.

    Raptor units

The Raptors are a new faction of unaugmented human terrorists hoping to stop the war by crippling the Corpus, Grineer and Tenno. They have small, mobile units and work in team to defeat superior foes.

    Raptor Raider :

The most common unit, the raptor raider is a lightly armored foe, moving rapidly between covers and firing automatic bursts at his enemies.

    Raptor Assassin :

Thanks to a recent raid against a corpus research facility, the Raptors stole the prototype for a chameleon power armor allowing for undetected movement on the battlefield. The Assassin armor is durable and enhance its user's strength, as well as rendering him invisible for short periods of time. This, as well as the dangerous melee weapons he wield, makes the Assassin a very dangeorus foe on hand-to-hand combat.

    Raptor Engineer :

These Raptors are experts in the field of demolition. They lay mines and set up turrets on the battlefield to hinder their foes' mobility. They are also equipped with grenades and a sidearm if cornered.

    Raptor Drone :

Another recent addition to the Raptor arsenal, the raptor drone is a modified MOA. It is reinforced to be less dependent of its shield and a second pair of leg added to increase its speed and mobility on the battlefield. (*Need rework)

    Raptor Heavy Drone :

With the addition of an anti-ballistic shield on its front, the Raptor Heavy Drone is a mobile cover unit, allowing a group of Raptor Raiders to approach an enemy without being bothered by suppressing fire.

    Wrangler:

Not having access to the many industries of the Corpus and the Grineer, the Raptors also need to rely on simpler form of warfare. The Wrangler controls a small band of marauding predators (wild hubrows?, mutated bears? Actual Raptors?, I'm open to suggestions) in battle. These predators are deadly in hand to hand combat and some of them are also rigged with explosives to deal as much damage as possible to their target. The wrangler is equipped with an eletrical net thrower which drastically hinder its target movement and rate of fire.

    Hawk:

The Hawk is an elite soldier equipped with gliding wings and a powerful silenced sniper rifle. His usual tactic is to find a safe spot on higher ground and snipe any target that come in range. If spotted, it is able to glide to a safer location or, if cornered, to dive into hand-tohand combat

    Other units/info to come
