I don't usually post on forums, but when I do, it is to outcry against irrational or improperly enforced policies. Banning hackers, users of excessively profane language, botters, and so forth makes sense. Banning people for being afk...what? This is honestly the first time I've seen this. How do you differentiate between intentional and unintentional afk'ing? I enjoy Warframe on multiple platforms and am a paying customer. If I were to get banned for this "offense", how would I be able to further support the development of this game?
But that's not the issue here. The issue here is the system implemented to prevent afkers. Submitting a report is fine and all, but that really doesn't immediately solve the problem for the angry reporter. Having a team vote-kick option requiring a majority vote of the squad makes sense, unless of course you happened to join a squad with three afk players. In the case of a two member squad you could have a timeout function that migrates a player who has not moved for a set amount of time to another instance of the mission (as with host migration). That way, if they were not intending to be afk, they can come back and complete the mission on their own.
But people usually disagree with me. So be it. Just ban people who actually play the game but happened to slip up once or twice.
