  1. I loaded into a an exterminate on Mercury yesterday, and as the Liset was flying in, a strange glitch pixelized the screen and then a message written in orokin script flashed across the screen before disappearing. I was so confused I forgot to capture a video of it. I found one on youtube though.

This isn't my video, but it's more or less the same thing as far as I can tell.

I've been here since update 7 so I don't think I'm missing something everyone else knows.....

    Apparently, this is a translation..

    VOID-LINK SEVERED

REASON FOREIGN CARRIER DETECTED. ORIGIN UNKNOWN. SUSPECTION TRAPPING SIGNAL.

REINITIATING DIPOLAR CONNECTION IN NOVEL CARRIER. BIO IN STANDBY FOR CHECK AND SYNC

    MOTION COMPENSATION COMPLETE

    SELENIC LENSING LOCKED.

    SOMATIC CONTROL ESTABLISHED.

    MARGULIS IMPLANTATION INTACT.

    evn STATUS NOMINAL

    WAR PLATFORM AWAITING SYNC.

    Thinking about it.....

(spoilers if you haven't completed Second Dream quest)

So we know that the Warframes are controlled by the 'operator', who resides in a special device designed to allow remote control of the warframe. If we look at it from the point of view of, say, the tenno operating system or something, it might make sense.

    VOID-LINK SEVERED

-Seems straightforward, the link between operator and warframe is severed.

REASON FOREIGN CARRIER DETECTED. ORIGIN UNKNOWN. SUSPECTION TRAPPING SIGNAL.

    - A bit more obscure. Not sure what a 'Foreign Carrier' in this situation. Perhaps a foreign signal carrying warframe information.

    - A Trapping Signal is a scripting term used to describe a method of allowing a controlled exit from the script in the case of a forceful termination. Whether the 'foreign carrier' is suspected to be a trapping signal or what isn't clear to me.

REINITIATING DIPOLAR CONNECTION IN NOVEL CARRIER. BIO IN STANDBY FOR CHECK AND SYNC

    - Dipolar is a type of antenna commonly used in telecommunication. Exactly how it applies here I don't know. A novel carrier presumably just means a new carrier. Perhaps a signal carrier? or something else....

    MOTION COMPENSATION COMPLETE

    SELENIC LENSING LOCKED.

    SOMATIC CONTROL ESTABLISHED.

    MARGULIS IMPLANTATION INTACT.

    evn STATUS NOMINAL

    WAR PLATFORM AWAITING SYNC.

    INITIALIZING SOMATIC OVERLAY...

    - Here seems to be the checklist warframes undergo when initializing connection.

    - This is interesting. Selenic, while I first thought it had to do with the element Selenium, actually means 'of, related to, or having to do with the moon'. Clever, DE. Lensing presumably in this case refers to gravitational lensing, the effect that large masses have on light passing through their gravitational field. Undoubtedly the system has to compensate for the gravitational lensing effect that the moon has on signals transmitted to and from the void and warframe. Or perhaps the technology on the moon is capable of adjusting it's lensing effect to allow for better signal... who knows.

-Somatic has to do with the body, so presumably this indicates that the operator is now in control of the frame.

-The margulis theory is a theory proposed by Dr. Margulis, having to do with symbiotic evolution, similar to the idea that the mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell) were once separate bacteria that eventually came to inhabit human cells and now live symbiotically within us. A Margulis 'Implantation' could mean something was planted within the warframes to allow control over them, or it might have another meaning. I am not sure.

-evn STATUS NOMINAL is fairly straightforward.

-The War Platform is most likely............ the BATTLE SCAFFOLD!!! of course. Though it could mean the CONFLICT STRUCTURE, you never know.

-Somatic overlay, once again refers to the body. Likely this refers to how the operators motions (or at least, dream motions) are overlaid onto the warframe, causing it to move when the operator 'moves'.

This is not a scientific deconstruction of this issue. Feel free to add something or point out errors, because I am not perfect or all knowing.

  2. I've been here since the end of update 7........

For me, I think my feelings were exactly what was intended.. I was all like, "Oh my god, this is who I've been all along." Felt it on a very personal level. Having been playing as long as I have, the sense of blindly following a code of Tenno honor and carrying out missions for some greater good without really knowing what or who I am really hit home at that moment, and I think it mirrored very closely what my character would have been feeling. I'd say that was really the first time I've ever been actually emotionally involved in Warframe, and certainly to this degree.

All things considered, I'm very impressed with the Second Dream quest, and I hope future releases show similar innovation and depth. I also hope there will be more chances for my character to interact somehow. Ideally I'd like to revisit all of the cutscenes and dialogue from the quest, but future dialogues would be nice too.

  3. It seems to me that there is a huge disparity between regular sensitivity and ADS sensitivity (or reticle speed). At the lowest setting (which is so slow as to be almost comical) it takes about seven seconds to do a 180. While aiming down sights, however, that time jumps to many times that number. (I stopped counting after twenty because I got bored.) At the highest setting, however, it takes less than a second to do a full 180, while the ADS speed seems just a tad above comfortable to me.

Essentially, ADS is too slow compared to the not ADS it is locked to. Is there any way to make it so that we can adjust them separately, or perhaps reduce the vast speed differences between them? I think this would be a very very good thing.

  4. Thanks for the speedy reply. I just tried it again, and after verifying the download cache, it froze up again just as it reached the picture of Mirage. It froze, then crashed to the home screen. I wonder if there is a possibility that there is something on my end causing this.
