If the game has to check the system, that's just the same as having the slots saved to their servers. It takes allocation and it'd be a slower system. Cloud storage has always been superior to local storage.

Well I don't see why these infos can't be stored on our computer...

 

If we stored frames and weaponry locally to our systems, we could re-write and give ourself items. This would be a terrible idea.
