Synthesis task seems out of place with Pyrus quest

The synthesis task of the Pyrus quest just feels tacked on. I can't really see a Lore reason for it.

Simaris is just one small part of the Relay ecosystem and scanning doesn't feel like it has anything to do with building a physical structure.

Could be a stretch but can kind of work if you think about it as Simaris providing the blueprints and or helping craft the components and the workers/ steel meridian installing them, but since simaris is always focused on his sanctuary he needed a little bit of persuasion for him to help.
