I actually kept track of all the times I got 75% off because it would piss off a dude in a telegram warframe chat how "lucky" I was getting.
Even though it seemed rather common to me at least before.

It is depend on massively of the RNG. I got a 75% discount just 2 days ago and used it well. Usually getting 50-75% discounts 2-3 weekly.

the system is designed to throw 75% discouint coupons to the people that havent bought enough plat, once you buy enough plat 75% discount coupons become more and more scarce, i used to get 75% discountes biweekly too as an above user said, at the very least i would get 1 each month, every time i bought one they got rarer and rarer, my last 75% discount took about a year to appear, after that one i havent seen a single 75% discount, its been two years since  then, before i would only get 50 or 75% discount, didnt even knew there where other coupons, until y 75% discount disapeared and i started to get low discounts, pretty sure the system is designed to bait you and get you used to plat purchases with 75% discount, then they remove the 75% discount or make it so rare for long time buyers that their need for plat will win and theyll start buying with lower discounts, eventyually forgeting about the 75% discount, i tried the same with a friends account, told him to buy all the 75% discounts he got, in his first 6 months, he stopped getting 75% discounts, and he hasnt seen a discount greater than 50%  for about a year now.

i dont mind that much, but its a really shady tactic.

i bet my ass youre new to the game and thats why youre getting so many discounts.

 

pretty sure if we make a comparison between, time played/plat bought and rarity of discount, a patern will be found. pretty sure is plat purchase history its the main factor on coupon rarity, it took me about 2 years for my 75 coupon to dissapear, it took a friend about 6 months, reason being, in those 6 months he has bought almost as much plat as i bought in thos 2 years

Yep. I joined in February and ocassionally log in to play some round and time to time getting discounts. Also the system seems created to this purpose because the potential new players are potential buyers aswell and they want to catch more peoples.

I know this by experience because my younger sister playing this game 5 years ago and she just got early on some discounts and thats all. 4 years ago she does not get any. And the funny part is I got more overall what she got back in time she got 5 max once 75% I got 12 overall yet and 7 75%.

This seems a tendency to try to catch new players and keep them in game. Others whom playing this game long ago seems get less like the DE does not favor them and instead prefer new players. This is however seems a bad business privacy because not every new player wish to pay money on the game and there is a lack of interest catching in the early phase of the game so they need to change a bit that to convice players to choose their product and finance them.

Other than that it is an usual practice in other kind of business aswell.

 

PS : you can increase the chance to get discount if you gifting peoples, buying items or just buying platinum. Not sure and it needs to be tested but I think these odds can increase the chances getting 50-60-70-75% discounts. Also they know their base pricing is horrendeous so they often throw at you 75% if you proven to be a spending person. There can be some survey program built into the daily login system which monitorize this. 

I have a friend here aswell whom getting 2-3 daily a discount 50-75%. And she plays the game 2 months ago.
