Lag/bad Hosts Makes The Game Unplayable And Incredibly Frustrating

I've never seen an online game with such a horrible lag problem that's been ignored for so long, IMO this is the games BIGGEST problem. Every single game I've played today has been absolutely unplayable (aside from the ones I got lucky and was picked as host) due to the games awful matchmaking/picking the worst host possible. It doesn't matter if you set your ping limit to 100 or 1000, the game will still pair you with people with horrible connections and most likely end up choosing them as the host.

 

How has a system not been put in place to at least check for the best suitable host before starting the game? There are console games that do this, there's no reason why a PC game should have such issues. Especially in a game with only 4 players! At least give us the option of starting the game as a host or something. Please put some effort into fixing this, playing nothing but laggy/unplayable games absolutely kills your drive to play this otherwise good game.
